  1. I saw the brass arachnid and - not knowing anything about the Arcanists - assumed it was some sort of heavy hitting tank beast! Then I tried to fight with him, checked his skills and used him as a way to get extra turns for Langston. As for the model, I have a resin base with a big pipe coming up out of the ground at an angle. I glued a few of his grabber claw thingies in place and it looks cool. I'll have to work out how to send photos to my laptop quickly and show you.
  2. Good work - I do digital illustrations too and uploaded a troll/gremlin somewhere on the forums and am working on another creature at the moment Glad to see other people are submitting artwork, we should request a dedicated fan art section lol! As for critique, I love the atmosphere as had already been said by many others. The character on the ground is well done but the standing figure seems to have skewed perspective on his right arm and I find it difficult to work out which way he's facing and what he's doing due to his posture not giving many clues... is he looking around for the killer or is he the killer? BUT I don't want it to sound like I'm putting you down, you've achieved something I haven't yet, capturing that green/grey-blue colour scheme/atmosphere that we all love about Malifaux - If you do more I'll do more! my troll thing, feel free to criticise it too, there's a lot wrong with it and it's pretty scruffy but I had miniatures to paint, haha. http://wyrd-games.net/community/topic/98571-malifaux-monster-digital-painting/
  3. I took the bull by the horns and put money down. I haven't played against anyone yet, just practiced on my own but hope to get to the Garrison either this week or next to get inducted
  4. I remember reading on the Bungie forums before Halo 2 was released that someone thought 'Bungie are taking so long because they're all just sat around playing it instead of making it.' Lol. Was anyone aware of the Two Worlds 2 mess-up for 360 a few years ago? The physical shipment literally got smashed up in transit on a cargo ship because the boxes fell over. That reminded me that distribution of the retail goods was an actual thing. Not that I assumed games etc just turn up on shelves but because I'd never given it much thought. Ever since I've had a lot more patience for delays etc.
  5. Mmm sauce. Malifaux got my imagination going so I'm going to stretch my creative legs and make some weird monsters
  6. I recently finished this Malifaux-inspire painting of a troll/gremlin type monster who just found a soulstone... Sort of meant to be set in the bayou, but like I say it was done quite quickly as I need to start on a new one for another project! Thought I'd share it with you all, let me know what you think. Sorry if this is in the wrong part of the forums, couldn't think where else to put it.
  7. Ah I see, thanks for the info everyone It'll be cool no matter what anyway, i'm sure!
  8. I recently learned of Through The Breach and got pretty excited for it mainly due to the fact I've recently been playing Cthulhu with a group of friends and fancy something a bit more... shooty stabby shoot shoot. But I can't find any details on how the game actually works/mechanics etc. I talked my friends into giving it a go and I offered to be the DM for it despite having never done it before! SO I wanna make sure I do it right and get a headstart on a mission before I actually get the rules. Am I right in thinking they're meant to be out in the next month or so? And is it a d+d/cthulhu affair where the players make characters and work their way through the story, bashing monsters and levelling up? Do the players have any restrictions when making characters? Can they be members of any of the factions? Can they be creatures, spirits etc or do they have to be humans or something? I'm eager to get started and the other guys have all picked up on some of the descriptions I was giving out, so one guy wants to be a Ten Thunders ninja dude whlst another wants to be a magic-wielding Arcanist! The more I know the more I can prepare
  9. I got the little book so I could spend more on minis lol! I got it off ebay for a tenner, but I sort of ish I'd gotten the big book for all the extra fluff stuff I think I've seen!
  10. Ha, good idea, I played a lot of zombicide over xmas, this is cool
  11. Good idea - are there any left?? Tempted to buy something but I don't get paid til next week
  12. Hi everybody, I'm Mike from York in the UK. I found Malifaux by following a link on a miniatures online shop purely because the thumbnail caught my imagination. Then I found the official site, read the bacckstory, saw the minis and I was hooked! It's got one of the most imaginitive themes out there that I've seen so far but I'm not a long-time wagamer. I dabbled with 40k and painted Tau, Chaos, Dark Angels, Imperial Guard, Skaven and Empire armies before tiring myself out on them. I realised that huge army games were a bit much for me to handle in terms of painting, buying and learning the rules for. Then I discovered skirmish games like Infinity. I love Infinity's background too and the minis are amazing. The rules too are some of the best I've seen BUT are a bit too complicated. Malifaux seems to have the balance between comprehensive rules and scope for tactics, a cool mechanic with the cards and few enough models that I can really spend a lot of time making them look good (It took me 6 months to paint 80 Skaven clanrats to a moderately good level and by comparison I've spent 3 days on Lilith and she looks pretty awesome!). So I think Malifaux will be one of the games I settle on! Unfortunately I don't really know anyone I can play against. I have one friend nearby who is willing to play and my dad loves playing with me but it's harder work as he often just tells me what he wants his minis to do and I have to resolve the actions for him lol (he doesn't get to play with me much so the rules don't stick in his memory). Around here (York) as far as I'm aware there's only Games Workshop and Travelling Man and neither touch Malifaux (obviously, in the case of GW). So anyway, I love the hobby, love the painting, making terrain etc and love what Wyrd are doing! Keep it up!
