The family models needs some focus to get real damage out of their 2/4/5 attacks. It could be used to get a better placement on turn 1, but on next turn, I do not think I would use this that often. It is worthy to give a try anyway.

Nino might be able to set up a couple of family values ooa and then they can focus with their first ap on the activation giving you 8 inches of movement, focused and two ap left. My guess is I'll never be able to use Queeg effectively but I had to throw it out there.

  2. Great idea! I have limited experience in this edition but so far I would offer the following suggestions:

I'd say the Hoff enjoys a good scrap so reckoning works well for him. Tossing watchers around let's him do pretty much any scheme in that. Tossing also works for plant explosives.

Perdita has handled herself fairly well in Turf war by being fairly mobile and killing off enemies in the enemy quarters. I guess not the most survivable crew but if you commit hard enough you can remove their main beaters.

Both Sonnia and Dashel might be liabilities in Turf war and reckoning but I haven't gotten them on the table yet.

It helps if you think of Daschel's aura as "discard a card for reckless".  Its not as good as pure reckless, but we know how strong reckless is.

That interaction requires a lot of things aligning though. Three auras all of different sizes! It also forces your entire crew to bunch up which I'm not a fan of.

@Adran I thought you payed costs when resolving the trigger so it was after the push.

  4. @explorator

I mainly tried to get to use Lucius, my two favorite mimics lost that keyword so I'm struggling with ideas for Lucius now. Him and Dashel used to have a strong connection so I figured I will try to get back to Lucius' old theme.

The dispatcher doesn't seem that hard to use. Walk up so your back edge is exactly 6" from a minion and zero it towards yourself, place an enemy marker for a single wound. Dashel should be within reach of that marker from his deployment zone but worst case he can walk once. The dispatcher seems more efficient than trying to hit a drop it trigger turn one.

With Dashel I would fully expect a game of table the opponent  and scheme turn four and five. No opponent of mine would be leaving markers out against a crew containing Dashel and executioners.

Discarding a card to focus as a zero seems like a poor ability. In a family crew the entire crew has the same aura but instead of using a zero they get any action outside of their activation and if they focus they also get a 4" push. Dashel mostly edges Perdita out in summoning and survivability, she seems to do damage a lot better.

The main barrier to Dashel having an efficient summoning game is Scheme Markers, not cards; Dashel can summon useful models with 10+. I am not sold on Lucius in a two-master Guild list, but Dashel is probably his best partner.

The totem gives one enemy marker per turn if you draw until you hit a mask.

From a strategic standpoint I think they go well together.  Though I think I prefer lucius and maybe one mimic in a Daschel list.  I'm thinking Reid or a lawyer.

I want the juicy cards from Lucius and mimics since guards seem to need a lot of discards without drawing much. I have thought of doing it the other way as well, would you start with a lot of big boys and summon cheaper stuff or start a bit more of the smaller stuff and hope for 12-13s?

Now that you mention it, he's got the old coat back.

I think the ultimate meta thing to do is find one of the old metal Drill Sergeant models and use that for his totem.  Yeah, they both started their jobs in the same book.  Dashel got promoted to named character, henchman, and now master.

All my guard models are from 1st ed so that's the one I intend to use, I just forgot it was called drill sergeant. Thanks for that!

But there's one really important question that you're not addressing with this list:

    • Which Guild Sergeant model is Dashel Barker now?

    🤓

I'm still using the one that came in my metal Lucius box. It looks a lot like Dashel and they changed his weapon from baton to axe so now it fits perfectly. Might use the old whatever it was with a baton and add a radio backpack for my dispatcher.

  9. Can't see much talk on them like together but maybe they were discussed a lot in the beta?

Seems like Lucius leading a few mimics and Dashel summoning something useful is a pretty fun game plan. The massive card draw should let you hit a 13 eventually. I'm stuck in my old ways and want to run them together.

I had something like this in mind:

    Lucius  Dashel Playable (Guild)
    Size: 50 - Pool: 4
    Leader:
      Lucius Mattheson
    Totem(s):
      The Scribe
    Hires:
      Agent 46
      Dashel Barker
      The Dispatcher
      Doppleganger
      Guild Lawyer
      Changeling

    Any experience or theories?

  10. The whole point of the fae crew is to target stuff in undergrowth markers. If it doesn't specify which trait is ignored I would assume it is all of them from that marker type.

Concealment needs to be ignored by the model doing the shooting to be canceled, not by the tsrget. There are several models who ignore concealment from any source and I'm pretty sure that's meant to make them better at shooting and not easier to shoot back.

So question for the Nekima-using masses; has anyone actually hired tots as Nekima? I feel like they're dogs, but with the potential to be not-dogs, but I still never feel compelled to use them in comparison to just hiring bigger, better, more absorbent models now.

I feel like pass tokens have made cheap models a bit awkward. You're either moving stuff up for the elite enemy crew to kill turn one or you are giving them an advantage on the critical T2 initiative. Half the point of them in m2e was wasting activations.

  12. Nevermind, ninjaed on the hounds only getting boosted in their own activation.

Hounds can be nice for black blood interactions but if I had to pick a schemer to sit in a corner and outflank I think the dolls are pretty great because the opponent will need to get within 6" to hurt them. Their turn one mobility from being carried by a young and then pushing towards a friendly sets them up to be in a good position for a lot of scheming. If you're looking to take down something tough I think the ability to give adversary (nephilim) at range is also a pretty good point in their favour.

  13. I'm having trouble not picking all the big models so my scheme runners are stuff like hunters with armour +2. I believe that she'll be chomping on a lot of models, especially in puny naked crews like you said. The real question is if you'll manage to eat them all in time and also get your own points. Death star units do tend to dominate games and eating all their stuff is usually a pretty good idea in my experience. I might give this a try myself!

  14. He's pretty nice as an anti schemer if there are markers in the pool. Cojo, the rider and two cerberi would make for an expensive but fun core. Four (six with the free ones) models at 37ss sounds like a steal to me, I hate having too many damn activations to worry about. :D
