My LGS is hosting a story encounter achievement league this month. One of the achievements is to play all 8 of the Masters from your declared faction. I am rolling Outcasts because I have 7 out of 8 Masters ready to hit the table. This month, by pledges will be the remaining master I need, plus some key models for other Masters. I have a start on the Student of Conflict... but with all this painting over the last several months, I have found that I like to paint at least two models at a time. So... I am going to toss Big Jake in with my Student. He has some base layers already, but still plenty left to go (pictures to come)

I prefer to use the Horsemen as my Anchors. I love the Levi Horseman list!

Viks are done! Unfortuately, I miscalculated my SS for the month, thinking that Vik of Blood was worth 10 (13 - cache). Not sure why I thought that applied, but so it looks like she is actually worth the printed 0SS. That leaves me at 15SS - 1 point short of my Master pledge level. So... I am gonna toss the old metal Student of conflict in the pile for this month. Also, way back when I first got into the game (around the time of version 1.5 Book 4), the original Viks box was one of the first Malifaux models I painted. Here is a comparison of my painting then and now.

I like the picks for the alts, I think it is a brilliant decision to make alts for models that are only found in crew boxes since it will tap into two markets: 1 - the collector's that already catch 'em all. 2 - the players that want that awesome model that is only normally found in a crew box. For me, I fall into both groups. I like the Taelor alt. I already have the Viks box, it was my first purchased, second painted from about 6 years ago, so the paint job is dated at this point. This gets me an updated Taelor without having to buy a crew box that never really spoke to me (I also have the Alt metal Viks, which are the best Vik models, in my opinion). I hope this is a sign of what's to come for alts of the future (would love to see an Alt Judge)

Just two models for this months pledge - the old metal alt Viks! These have been sitting around primed for years now. Finally going to do something with them. This should be 25SS worth of models: 15 for Vik of Ash, and 10 for Vik of Blood.
