  1. I have mainly tried it with the few Malifaux plastic models I have but I have also tried it with warmachine models and it worked well with them.
  2. First off I have found that the plastic models are actually more resilient and harder to accidentally damage than metal models mainly because they are way lighter and much springier. That said I have not had plastic models for that long. Since I got into miniature games a few years ago I have been carrying my models on modified platters of foam in a shoe box. I use 1" open cell foam platters that are about 6" by 10" as the start. I then cut vertical slices into the foam that are about half a models base deep and about a base wide. I then slot the model into the slice which "grabs" it and holds it in place. This technique works really well for most of my models since they can generally be positioned so that they are laying flat on the foam. For some larger more complex models I have had to carve out some of the foam so that parts of the models are recessed into the foam and therefore evenly supported. I then stack the foam platters on top of each other and then cap it with another piece of foam. I can post photos this evening if people want.
  3. So I am thinking about picking up Kirai, mostly because I like her models but also because I like her rules. My question is what models should I buy originally, what should I pick up as second tier models and then finally what would I want in an ideal Kirai selection. I currently have no Resser models, my main faction is Arcanists and I have some Guild and Outcasts. Thanks for any advice.
  4. Also depending on what masters are generally being used you may have to adjust your terrain selection as some masters interact with certain types of terrain. If Lilith is being played you want some forest and If Rasputina is being played you will want some swamp/lake/river/long grass areas, basically anything that a model can actually stand on. There may be other model-terrain interactions but I can not think of them now. You want enough of the terrain type to make the interactions possible but not so much that they are overpowered.
  5. Be very mindful of where your squishy models are and what ever you do do not link a model to your master. Raspy loves to crush the squishy models while dropping massive amounts of blast damage on everything nearby.
  6. "But I thought everyone wanted to wear frilly dresses." -Colette DeBois
  7. Ah well that could explain some of our thought differences, a lot of my games have been against Pandora and Resers.
  8. What crews do you normally face? I actually looked up the replace rule last night. When you replace a model the replacing model continues the replaced models activation using any remaining general ap. The replacing model may use any special ap it has given that the replaced model did not already use that special ap. So if you made the second Coryphee fast and used the fast ap the Duet would not be able to use the fast ap that turn but other than that the Duet can use the fast ap on the turn it is created.
  9. How exactly did you manage to do that? In my interpretation of the replace rules the Duet would have a hard time making it into range melee range let alone getting there and doing the 2-3 melee attacks needed to kill Nino. Showgirls are really not designed to kill the other crew, they can do it but it takes some work, they really work best if you ignore the other crew as much as possible while completing your own objectives. In that light I feel that Oiran should be used in a few different ways. They can be used as jumping off points for Colette, since they can move to a location and then tank out with defensive stance. Their +1wp aura combined with Colette's +2wp aura gives the showgirls some of the highest wp stats in the game which can really mess with any crew that is throwing wp duels at you. Also Oiran's ability to rally friendly models can be great against a terrifying crew. Finally their lure can be combined with siren call to make a very nice combination. Lure can also be effectively used to pull models out of the way of Coryphee or Cassandra so that they can run around and pick up vp unhindered.
  10. So normally brilliance would not go onto a summoned model since the previous model was sacrificed but since Brilliance is an effect and swarm together specifically says that any effects on the original arachnids are applied to the swarm the swarm will receive permanent brilliance. When the swarms scatters all the new arachnids will also receive permanent brilliance since scatter says that the three summoned arachnids each receive all the effects on the swarm. Also remember that when the swarm scatters it creates three new arachnids they are not the same three arachnids that went into the swarm.
  11. You are correct, I forgot that, I was thinking of those fun times when I ruined masters by targeting their totems.
  12. I have only played friendly matches so I really do not know how well my Tina would do in a tourny. I generally play Tina and her crew as a block of death that moves out and controls a giant area of the map so my following comments are related to that play style. I have found that Snowstorm is an incredibly valuable model for Tina and I generally take him in my 25 pt games. First off he is a fast model before you add in his movement tricks and he becomes even faster when he gets going. His tricks really speed up the her entire crew meaning that she can get into the fight and start to deal death faster. He is extremely resilient and can do a fairly good job of protecting Tina from melee by simply shredding the face of anyone who gets near. He is also capable of throwing out some fantastic spells. I love the Essence though he is very squishy and can open up Tina to easy blast damage. The Silent One is fantastic and should basically always be included. The +1 damage from Ice Gamin is nice if you can activate it before Tina activates but I have found that is often not possible. Other than that Ice Gamin do not offer that much. Finally the Blessed is great for moving out and picking up objectives or simply messing with the opponents weaker ranged models and should certainly be included if you are not using Snowstorm.
  13. I really like the Rail Golem, I have only really run him in conjunction with Kaeris but he has proved very effective. He was great at just beating down small models by himself. When you add in other models to stack up burning counters, for him to steal, he can simply trash heavier models. I downed McMorning in a turn this way. In relation to running him with Tina I would say that while he would do fine taking a Snowstorm for 2 stones more would be a much better idea. Both the Rail Golem and Snowstorm are hard hitting beat sticks that are hard to kill, but the Rail Golem has negative synergy, while Snowstorm does a huge amount for her crew.
  14. According to page 34 of the RM Paralyzed models have no melee range, cannot take any type of action, cannot activate triggers, and can not react to disengaging strikes. Since it does not mention cheating fate or burning stones on df and resit duels and they are not one of the aforementioned things I would say you can do both as part of a defense or resist duel.
