  1. I looked at 1.5 about a year ago, loved the minis, hated the rules. Now I've come back around again. I love the new rules, and am having trouble making up my mind which crew I want. My mind for at least my first(!) crew was made up by the new ice golem. He just looks so beefy.
  2. Okay, now that I'm done being silly, I've got a serious question for the Malifaux players out there: Do you prefer your miniatures in plastic or metal? My wife is a die-hard metal fan, but there are good reasons for that, most notably that she tends to leave her cases in the car most of the time. She's physically handicapped, and I'm not always there to haul them in and out of the car for her. For myself, I'm a fan of plastics. The reasons why: I've seen plastics with poses I don't think would be as practical in metal. Mei Feng is a good example. Plastics are less susceptible to droppage. I've dropped plastics on a concrete floor with no damage other than chipped paint. Metals always seem to come up missing a part. They take paint better. They're lighter. Less of a concern with Malifaux, but with other games with a higher model count, more so. Thoughts, gentlemen?
  3. Indeed, and very well done. And an updated errata as well. Thank you for this, Wyrd crew. I'd like to apologize for my first post. I'd just spent a rather frustrating hour trying to figure out what crews had been released for M2E and which ones were about to come out. Sorry, guys, I don't know what came over me.
  4. Not everything already released is in wave 2; the avatars aren't for one.
  5. Agreed. One of the things I really love about the Privateer Press site is that they've got reasonably good-sized images of their models. The 360-rotating model view is nice too, but I don't think that's as practical for Wyrd.
  6. On a related note, has anyone ever done a crew creator app? I'm thinking something stripped down, mean & lean like iBodger, not the horrible bloatware that is War Room.
  7. Something else that occurred to me this morning. Are there official Facebook pages for Wyrd games and Malifaux? I found some fan pages, but there didn't seem to be an official one. Another way to keep your fans up to date on Wyrd doings. If there is one, links on the main page would be a plus.
  8. What the Battlecollege wiki for Warmachine/Hordes did was keep the old pages in place, but mark them as obsolete. That way pullmyfinger stays useful to players who are still working off the 1.5 rules, and you can update as Wyrd releases the 2E stats.
  9. And I appreciate your openness and honesty about that. Taking good criticism well is part of good customer relations. A company that is friendly to customers will find an easier time attracting new players (like me!).
  10. Thank you for letting us know. And I do apologize for my original post; I was just a little frustrated. I'd just played my first game of Malifaux 2E and really liked it. Then I go to pick a crew and had a lot of trouble figuring out which of the new crew boxes had been released and which ones were coming when. (Eyeing the Children of December box, btw. The new ice golem is too cool not to love.)
  11. Okay, here's my list of things that need to be corrected on the Wyrd site(s): 1. The new releases and upcoming releases need to be updated and kept up to date. The newsfeed in general needs to be updated more often. 2. The current crew creator, old stat cards, and mini rulebook download need to be marked as obsolete. 3. A list of which models have been updated, which ones are currently in beta, and which ones haven't been started yet. 4. A guide to telling which figures & crew boxes are the new sculpts and which are the old ones. Nice to have: 1. Post the beta stat cards somewhere besides the forums. Right now, that's the only place to find them, and they're not obvious. 2. An updated crew creator would be good. Does not need to be fancy, or have the complete model statistics, just something that makes a correct crew. 3. "This is Malifaux" videos - An overview of Malifaux, the world and how to play.
  12. Correct, and my answer wasn't intended as a blanket statement, merely to answer one person's question. I'm still a newbie here, I just know because I've done some research. Also, my original post wasn't terribly helpful, and was probably overly sarcastic. My apologies to everyone.
  13. The revised crew boxes have a logo in the lower right-hand corner of the front of the box. It says M2E. If the box doesn't have that, it's got the earlier cards in it. None of the metals will have them, and only the newest plastics will. If you're looking into an older crew, your best bet is to grab the arsenal box for your faction. And try to stick to models that are either in the core rulebook, or the wave 2 beta. That way you're sure you have stats for them.
  14. I'm in the same boat as the OP here. I thought about getting into Malifaux last year, when my FLGS started carrying it. Got put off a bit by the rules, put it on the back burner. Now I'm looking at it again, and can't make up my mind which crew to buy. Things I like are high mobility models. I looove dancing around the battlefield, dashing in to strike, then fading away. I also like screwing with my opponent's models. Raw damage is nice and all, but frustrating your opponent is great. I hate models where all they can do is move and attack. Boooring. Edit: I should also add that I'm something of a risk-taker as well. I'm perfectly willing to do something absolutely insane just to see if it works, or if I think it's going to be funny.
  15. Not necessarily new, but at least more up to date with current Wyrd doings. And yes, the cards that are already on the website need to be marked as outdated. Another suggestion: How about some "This is Malifaux" videos? Talking about the game and the setting, showing how the game is played, that sort of thing. (Not that YouTube isn't awash in them anyway, but something nicely done by Wyrd or some fans would be good.)
  16. Do want. Creating a crew is quick & easy, but being able to make them up in advance is nice. Or maybe Army Builder data files for 2e?
  17. ...and I hate pointing it out, but the emperor's freaking naked, okay? The Wyrd site as it stands is kind of a joke. I can't find out what's been released, what's coming soon, etc, etc. The lates "New Releases" post is from September of last year. Wyrd needs to this taken care of. There are other issues, but this one catches my eye right off. ---------- Post added at 07:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:23 AM ---------- And I don't mean to be cruel with this, far from it. I'm just trying to point out to Wyrd that their website could be a more effective sales tool. Your customers and potential customers cannot buy what they do not know exists. What boxes have been released for Malifaux 2e? Which ones are coming? These are things that should be obvious upon visiting the Wyrd site.
  18. I'm about to buy my first crew for Malifaux. But I'm worried about being able to get the 2e stat cards for my crew box of choice, the Rail Crew. Are the cards for them going to be in the Arsenal box?
