  1. Considering it only have a 10" range and you need a 9+ :crows and I then get a willpower resists that doesn't seem like a dependable strategy. You are either getting really lucky with your cards (and being in range) or you are using a soulstones to boost a smaller :crows and I'd quite happily compete in the soulstones spending as I'm going to have more of them and I get a on them. Alternatively, just stay out of his line of sight. Collette does fine being a support master, generating soulstones and launching doves. She have no need to rush Nico at all.
  2. For the dual faction masters, can we assume that they will always be able to use the models that come in their starter box?
  3. The brewmaster is Gremlin/10T, so that's the Gremlins sorted. And apparently something special is going on with the outcasts so they likely won't follow the mould of the others.
  4. Well you got the campaign rules out at the moment, but that of course is 1e. Some of the interviews have talked about ways to link games together being included in the book, although not a full campaign system like that. Although that might come in a future edition of the Wyrd Chronicle. Also wouldn't it be closer to Mordheim than Necromunda? You might want to have a look at Infinity as well who just brought out a campaign system too.
  5. I have to say my imagination doesn't stretch to card decks not being available in the UK, or anywhere else that sells Wyrd products. Those retailers already stock Fate Decks, as well as a range of varied sized blisters and boxes. How is this product any different from what they are already selling?
  6. But what would such a master do? That's more what I was think, what kind of gameplay master is lacking?
  7. If you had an App or similar for them rather than a PDF you could create a 'card' that contained all the upgrades you have bought for the model. That kind of thing could be quite neat I think. But then we are talking additional resources spent on developing digital offering as well.
  8. Hmm, I could see Rose Crowshaw appearing as a model, she have a neat story but I don't know if she will show up as a master. She doesn't seem like obvious leader material but rather someone Marcus would bring along. I think a better question is, what kind of master would we like the Arcanist to have?
  9. I don't see why not. It depends entirely on why you proxy. If its just to avoid spending any sort of money then Wyrd is unlikely to see much anyway, but the reason I have proxy monies is because I don't love all the Wyrd models so I use a different model I like better. So yes, I use various proxy models and I'll be buying the decks for everything I play. So I'm looking at Arcanists, Neverborn and Outcasts. If we use the price of a War machine deck (I got no idea if it will be the same) that would cost me RRP £36 to get all the rules for every miniature I play with and professionally made play aids that makes playing much easier. Sure, its 'hobby money' that doesn't buy you any miniatures but is it money less well spent because of that?
  10. Wasn't it Miranda that went off with Marcus, or am I thinking of a different story?
  11. Because as Fetid Stumpet said, we don't have any of the information etc. to assess whatever it would be a good business move or not. I have no way of voicing an informed opinion on that aspect of things. So it's all a big mix of "I think" and "I've seen" anyway so we are already talking opinions. And an important point of the thread seemed to be the feeling that we were entitled to this for one reason or another. Now that kind of normative discussion people can have an opinion on because it's discussing an aspect of (gaming) culture so people are going to weigh in.
  12. Actually, I don't think that's the argument at all. It's a related discussion point, but the argument to me is are we entitled to free rules from Wyrd and are they greedy if they charge for them.
  13. Don't know if there is a requirement of missing for Whoops to activate. I'd think it was just if you had a :masks but I don't have the cards so couldn't tell you for sure. My impression was that if you flipped a mask it was Whoops time, but a miss would just be a miss.
  14. Certainly, I can see arguments for it. It might even be a good business decision, I have no way of really knowing so I'll leave that in the hands of people who might actually know something about it (or at least are making the decisions). I know I looked at the free rules for Malifaux before I got into the game and similar with Infinity. However the thread/OP basically just comes across as feeling entitled to whatever he wants for free because he wants it. I think that's the thing that rubs people the wrong way.
  15. From memory, Whoops are changing. They now have a trigger on their range attack for each suit, with Whoops being one of them(On a :crows?) and a special rule saying they have to use a trigger if able. Another trigger (on :masks I think) is something like "I got it Pa" and requires you to push towards the model hit. So could be good, could be bad. Dumb Luck stays, can't remember the last trigger.
  16. On the topic of cards. Will there be multiple decks, so one for Book 1 stuff and one for everything else? And if so will the book one deck be just a single faction or the whole book? Also how is the fluff going to be handled. It sound like it will be all new in the M2E book, but as the old books becomes out of date and harder to find how are new players going to be able to get to those stories, are there a compendium planned for some point in the future or similar? And to keep on the production side of things (wrong people, I know) are there any plans for making "accessories", like tokens. With yet another token type playing a central role (Scheme tokens) I was just wondering if there were plans for making that kind of thing.
  17. And no one is going to take that product away from you. You can still continue to use exactly what you have bought for as long as you like and however you want. That is not changing at all. However Wyrd is releasing a new product and if you want that you might have to pay for it. They are under no obligation to provide you with any material they might make in the future because you in the past bought something from them.
  18. Should be 12. 4 per scheme and 4 max for strategy.
  19. And those things (along with more by the sound of it) will be in the narrative game section of the book exactly for use in more casual games. It's just that instead of having everything on one chart there are two encounter sections so you can choose what kind of game you want.
  20. Yeah, the only thing not available is the art and fluff, and I believe the new campaign system. Of course, Infinity also have several army builders available with full stats and a great wiki that crosslinks everything (and is almost needed to play, especially if your new) so the way I play that these days is to bring my tablet because I can have all the info on there just click through. Now CB have obviously decided that that approach makes good business sense for them. Wyrd might decided that the same apply to them and if they do, more power to them. But it's a business decision. I think what annoyed people (or certainly me) was the "I'm entitled to get your work for free otherwise you are horribly greedy and exploiting the fans" vibe that was given off. We aren't entitled to anything for free. Now it might be that Wyrd also offers some sort of digital solution, in fact I hope they do. I would love it if just as with Infinity I could run everything off my tablet. Of course, said digital solution might not be free either. And it could also be that having the rules, or some rules freely available only would increase sales for Wyrd. I'm inclined to think they would, but I honestly don't know because not working in the industry I've never seriously looked into it so I don't know. And Wyrd is first and foremost a business. It have to make business sense for them to do things, much as we might prefer them to be able to do stuff just for our enjoyment.
  21. Will upgrades be specific to each individual model or will there be generic upgrades to each faction/the whole game? And how many upgrade options can a model expect to have?
  22. You mean being greedy in the sense they want to get paid for their work? I would like to get everything for free too, but I don't think we can reasonably demand/expect Wyrd to just give away what they have spent a lot of work on. Now they might decide that it makes business sense to release something for free, but this is peoples jobs, you can not call them greedy for wanting to get paid to so it, especially if they are actually trying to make it affordable.
  23. Nope, we don't know if healing is gone, just that you can't do it with soulstones, but that's all you need to know for Collette. Its pretty clear that she is going to change a lot, but her crew is one of the big offenders in terms of massive complexity and lots of tiny text. Yes, I'm slightly nervous because she is my favourite master but I'm sure she can be made in the new system, and it won't matter to me what ever you are going to need upgrades or not to get what you need/want from her.
  24. If it was just a round or two the mannequin would need to offer more I feel to make it worth going for over just burying the model. But Collette is going to have to change a lot anyway because of the changes to soulstones and casting (no more magicians duel going of CA) and honestly Mannequin replacement is one of my least worries about her.
