  1. Yeah Through the Breach sounds awesome. Tempted to back it, but it works out expensive with the $22 shipping
  2. Now you tell me.... Ahh well, I undercoated my Lilith brood (man, did I ever have troubles gluing the damn things together!) and it seems to be ok.... I went to get some paints today from a craft store, and got far too confused about what to go for. I'm hoping to head to my FLGS store tomorrow and get some advice in that regard.
  3. I know that's not what the upgrade means, just saying it's now possible to implement it - for example, in campaign rules, everything starts off without any upgrades, then after each battle, you earn vp's or xp's which can be used to purchase upgrades to use in future games. Models can be killed, weakening your crew, or eventually growing so big they get on the radar of the big fish out there. It worked for Blood Bowl and Necromunda, and Malifaux is the perfect model count for this kind of thing. I'll have to look at this WC5 - any ideas hwere I can find it? Also, no idea about Mordheim - never played it or seen it unfortunatley.
  4. So maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part, but listening to the interviews on certain podcasts, the designers mentioned an upgrade system. This leads to me thinking - I wonder if they will include a campaign system in the rule set (or maybe in a future expansion), so that we can finally get a replacement for the long out-of -print Necromunda.
  5. Ok: So I've dug out my Lilith models, and the models themselves aren't that bad, so I think I'll keep them for now. As she is more melee orientated, I'll probably look at either Rasputina or Perdita for my second faction for now. Regarding paints, I've found a couple of GW Black primer cans at home so I'll base with them. Other than that, I'll go to the craft shop today and see what they have in terms of acryllics.
  6. Ok so the final option is: Melee: Viktorias or Lady Justice Range: Rasputina or Perdita So, part of me think the 2 Guild factions makes the most sense, as then they could be combined to a certain extent later on, however, if these are my primary crews, then fluff wise going against each other constantly doesn't make much sense. I really like the idea behind Viktorias, although I've heard that their starter box isn't that useful? So I'll probably end up with Lady J & Rasputina, but I'll see what my FLGS has. As an aside, what primer is best? The only one I'm familiar with is the Citadel spray, but not that keen on paying GW prices.
  7. Yeah I think I've decided on: Rasputina - her play style seems easy enough, and painting her minions at least should be doable. Then either: Sonnia or Perdita. My one 'concern' is that Perdita v Rasputina might lead to some 'static' matches where it's a case of standing and shooting at each other? Or is that nonsense? Mind you those Gremlins look fun. And the Ten Thunders And the Necro-Punks..... Sigh... :-)
  8. Essentially, I thought I wanted plastics, but just seen the Masika (sp?) models and they don't look the easiest to assemble, let alone paint. I'm going to look into the Guild, possibly Perdita - but not sure how the painting will go. Also looking at Rasputina
  9. Thanks Alex - what makes you say the metals are easier to assemble? I'm only going off the one box I have, but the metal models seem to leave quite big holes at the joins which look like they'll need filling in? Also, isn't pinning required?
  10. So a little while ago (2 years maybe?) I started looking into Malifaux. For ages I'd been a collector of fluff of the GW games, and never got around to painting anything. I'm the type of person who used to avoid art lessons where I could! Malifaux though really appealed to me - I got the rulebooks and started reading what I could, and even got as far as buying a box set (I believe it was a Lilith set). Long story short, I'm back, and this time determined to get a little crew up and painted, to whatever standard I can manage. However, not sure where I should start. Requirements: - Must be easy to assemble (therefore I'd prefer plastic rather than metal) - Easy to paint - Preferably an 'acceptable' theme. My 5 year old might want to 'play' so I'd prefer the models to be nothing too extreme (this one is the least important of all requirements) Now for the challenge. Can you think of two crews that fall into these requirements? Finally, I need to check what books I have at home still, but where do I start on catching up on the fluff I've missed?
