    Toss

    You gain the Insignificant condition until the end of the turn is what the card says - did I miss an errata on that? And thanks for the answer.
  8. I was discussing the Ice Golem's Toss action with a friend. Does a model ALWAYS gain insignificant after being tossed, or only after striking an object?

    Ice Golem

    Yea, it would be nice to have another in the new style without having to buy the whole box again, BUT, with Wave 2 on the way, I'm feeling more and more that I'm going to see a game situation where I'm going to have multiple Ice Golems, unless I'm playing a something way over 50 points. I think with SnowStorm, Blessed, and Joss - I've got a wide variety of alternatives that would really add the same level of damage output while adding their own trouble to the board. Course, YMMV.

Yea, at the time, I was a little miffed about it since I lost a model that I thought was reasonably safe to most anything thanks to the trigger - but the more I think about it, I can accept the abstraction. Since the aura is Ht2 (as Raspy is Ht2), and if we think of an aura as a constant pulse, rather than a cloud - I can see how it works. Also, good to realize now - situations may arise when I have units on a building of Ht2, so they won't get the aura either...
  14. Yea, there is a call-out box. I just felt it was weird that a model can block the aura - that's really the reason I asked the question! Thanks for the comments all.
  15. Hey all, This weekend a situation came up that I'm not sure was resolved correctly and just was hoping for the community to help me through it! Rasputina had the Sub-Zero upgrade attached to her. This ability provides a DF trigger within a 6:aura. I had a Ice Gamin within this area. My opponent moved Barboros between Raspy and the Ice Gamin - blocking line of sight. Based on the rules, for an aura to have effect, LoS seems to be needed, so we played it as that. For me, it seems a little weird that a model can block an aura in this way, but if that's the intention, that's cool. I just was curious as to what everyone else thought.
  16. Honestly I've found it to be a lot about just trying out different crew 'looks' and finding what works and what doesn't for how you like to play, and for what you're worried might come out. For instance, Armor of December is going to be a hard upgrade for me to turn down now that I've seen how beneficial it is - giving me the ability to push out of melee, armor, etc. Unless I'm playing a crew that I know absolutely hates getting into melee, I think that's a nearly auto-take for me now on Raspy. So ultimately, make sure you have fun. The more you play, the more you learn.
  17. Raspy is a tough matchup for Pandora, no doubt about it - but you do have tricks you can use to win the game. You've identified the #1 priority though - select good schemes and focus on the strat/schemes. Maybe find a way to try and make her play into your game.
  18. I've always struggled with the Wendigo - he's so fast (comparatively) its hard to be reasonable and keep him near Raspy as suggested by dgraz. But even then, I've found the Wendigo to be a great objective nabber or a distraction that focuses an opponent's activation on a 3ss model rather than advancing or focusing on an objective. So in that sense, he's been useful. And let's just say...against Gremlins... OM NOM NOM.
  19. As a Raspy player, I've been considering adding Soniia to my collection for a similar, but different crew to play with. After reading the most recent update for the beta, I think Kaeris will actually fill that void nicely! Lots of models in the Arcanist faction that can work nicely with Kaeris outside of her expected box set... The thing about Soniia, in my opinion, is that while she does good damage herself, she can hire quite competent minions that are better offensively than Raspy's average minion. Now, on the flipside, Raspy's average minion won't run away in fear of anything and Raspy can use them as the origin of her Ca attacks. So, it's about the kind of game you're playing. Both are really neat masters and it would be fun to play either.

  21. I'll apologize as I don't know the names of all of Pandora's abilities, nor do I have the rulebook or cards to check them, so I'll do my best to help you as a Raspy player. First up, use cover. The core Raspy crew only has the December Acolyte that can bring you out of position - use that to your advantage as best you can. If Sub-Zero is in play, remember it's only against Df Ml attacks. Anything with the trigger can't shut you down on a Wp duel. Your best bet is to engage any Frozen Heart models (that are within 10" and LOS of Raspy) as quickly as possible - if you've got 'em, anything with a range of 2 or better as Ice Gamin only have of 1, and thus, can't be used as mirrors (though, can be targeted by Raspy, if she decides she wants to trade the gamin for your Sorrow). Raspy's attack is weak as all heck, and if she doesn't have Armor of December, you've got her caught in a bad spot. Against Raspy and the Ice Golem, you want to try and strip them of their immunity to horror duels with Pandora. I think this is from a trigger from an ability, but I am not sure - sorry. I know it exists, since it was used to great effect on me! Fear Given Form is a decent upgrade too, but keep in mind that it affects your own models too. Against the core Frozen Heart models, you're looking at Df of 4, 3, and 2. That's means a 10+ to avoid 3 damage just for activating in Pandora's engagement range. Pretty decent, if you ask me. Also, with Pandora, remember, you can control when your opponent activates when you hit the incite chain. Make Raspy's crew activate when she DOESN'T want to.
  22. Rasputina WRECKS Pandora in my experience. Yes, Pandora has ways around Frozen Heart, but that requires Pandora to take activations to fiddle with that rather than stomping around on you. Pandora's range is pretty low - Raspy's range can really ruin her day, plus magic attacks means all those incorporeal models take full damage. My recommendation is to look for crew compositions that can deal damage from range AND if possible, a model or two that can move Pandora's models into your firing ranges (for example, I use December's Acolyte). Unfortunately, I'm not familiar enough with the new abilities of Perdita, Ramos or Lynch to make much recommendations for those particular boxes.
