OK I can't imagine this actually happening, which means I'll see it next time I play, but is it possible to get 5 AP out of Misaki? way I can think this would happen is by using the Reckless AP and that passes her through the 6inch bubble of her mentor(not looking at the book or cards right now so I forget her name) and that replaces Reckless with Fast and you haven't used the AP from fast yet so...

so after a very busy work week I finally got some painting done and now 2/3 of Misaki box set is done. generally I don't like the twin sickle guy, I just don't like the model pose and that translated to a crappy paint job in my mind. also rewatching 'Heathers' and I think I might paint my Ronin like the title characters once I get them.

so last night my gamer ADD and my desire to not really paint red kicked in and I worked on some bases for the Rail crew obviously they're not finished but.. .

I've been thinking about mixing in Graves to use his push if your most likely dealling with bricks of crews pick a point between the master and most of the brick push them apart send in Misaki on the otherside or at angel to push even further. Through is brothers for companion and them maybe also torakage for the swap

you can also try coating it a bone color and giving them a sepia wash that might get you close to what your trying

and because of work slowing me down I haven't been able to make a ton of progress but with today's painting I can finally field a TT crew(albeit only a 5ss crew but...)

So once I got home from running around I had some time to paint. Got most of the box set basecoated and first wash and that when I figured I would focus on misaki cause the master should always look awesome if you've got the talent and Shang is HUGE and the GW orange wash over the red spray just DOES NOT work now I have a question.. I have the archers still to assemble, damn fiddlely heads and scarves, and I was thinking about trying to fill out more thunders should I go Ronin or Thunder Brothers? I'm thinking Brothers as I also picked up the Rail Crew during the gen-Con period and if memory serves Mei can hire the Brothers if going Thunders.

hmm- i didn't use that piece so it might be an alt for the back or maybe its ties for the front and i didn't use it just looked at the digital sculpts on the BOB and it looks like its a hanging tie around the front of his waist

I've very seldom had spray primer problems This has happened to me as well and NO ONE would ever say a desert is too humid, for me it's usually when I don't shake the can enough.

so yes he was REALLY shiny but I was figuring that as a base coat once I did a wash and a few layers of highlight on him it would be fine. Well I woke up early this morning, well early if you're going to bed at 4:30am, and got some more done before I have to wake my wife for her dental appointment. so lets look at him now... so all in all I starting like the krylon paint and primer can IF and only IF the majority of the fig is one color. I think the black wash really toned everything down and I would say he's probably 75% done now still need to do a few more layers of highlights on his clothes and pick out a few details maybe do something with the blades

So my Thunders box arrived earlier today, or is that yesterday as it's 4am for me, and while I was assembling them I was struck with a few thoughts. First ,"My God they have small parts," and second ,"Misaki reminds me of Jinks form GI Joe. I should paint her red." Then I thought that although I love the models as a kit the Rail Crew was sooo much better than the Thunders. Each piece was labeled and most of them had alt pieces so in theory no two Rail Crews would ever look alike and this wasn't the case with the Thunders Anyways I built the kit and then thought I'm gonna try something different, since Misaki is gonna be red and I like to carry the color across the crew I figured I would try Krylon's paint and primer spray red and then then main base color would be done. Having never used this type of primer before I figured I would give everyone my feelings about it. All in all its not too bad but I does make the models feel very rubbery like it was coated in the insulation rubber paint stuff. Here's a WIP shot of maybe my fav Totakage. " I haven't done any washes or highlights yet just getting him mostly base coated. I've never painted over red before but it seems like I have to do more coats to get the coverage I want not sure if that's the primer or thats what happens when you paint over red.
