  1. Ahk nice, yeah we missed most you guys up at Roc-con. I'm gonna talk to james and see if we can't round up 2-4 guys to come down instead of just me again. Looking forward to facing off against armies i'm not used to seeing up here in Rockford, it's fun learning how other crews work!
  2. Howdy guys, Just curious if there is gonna be some prize support also or if its more of a casual play/ all for fun thing. I'm thinking I might go down there and let Korrosion exact some revenge on me( as long as we don't go to turn 7 lol.)
  3. Wow ok some has waaay too much time on their hands. Luckily the ones who write the cards have already shown when something needs to be in base to base, cause it will say it right on the card like: Steampunk arachnid swarms-scatter Leveticus- Pariah/Blessing of Desolation/ and Necrotic Unmaking Steampunk abomination - Desolate warping The Stolen - Inevitable Fate Also these models have wording that says " into base contact" : Rat Catcher, Malifaux rat, Ashes and Dust, Dust Storm, Obedient Wretch, Hamelin the Plagued, Colette, Datsue-Ba, and Kirai. Not to mention there's some Avatars that also say "into base contact." I'd say by looking at all these examples and looking to Criid's card which doesn't say "into base contact" that it's pretty safe to say the original opinions of within 6" of violation target would be correct. Oh yeah I was told to smile more
  4. I can say a definite yes. I chose my first master based solely on cup size ( as I didn't know anything else about the game lol.) Since then I've obtained the ortegas and criid boxes( mainly for the minions,) I've also started a small Marcus " funplay" mini list. Big hair, big sword, and big 's Lady J was the first master for me and has continued to surprise both myself and my opponents with what shes capable of!!!
  5. Sup Adam :) Friend request accepted.

  6. Het this is Adam from Rockford.

  7. For collette I use two guild models I hardly ever use: The witchling handler and the executioner. I try to get both/either of these models into melee with Colette. The tactic I use for this is both models make it harder for her blinding flash trigger, then its pretty easy to beat her down. Also I use Lady J a majority of the time anyhow, so having her on the opposite side of the table makes quite an interesting decision for the collette player.
  8. Even tho I don't like the Master i'd say Sonnia Criid. Or even maybe Rasputina or a kaeris hencemen, anything that can throw blasts around like they were frisbees!
  9. Yeah I had a great time and wanna thank you Nilus for hosting and also thank all three of my opponents. I got to play Lilith twice and Hamelin, both masters that i've never gotten to play against before and it was a blast. FYI hamelin made my head hurt playing against, that master is hard to figure out a counter measure to on the fly!!!
  10. @cerealkiller.... Yeah the hunter is probably one of the most underutilized guild models, now I wish it was a 5ss cost instead of 6, but if I am using dogs that give the extra SS then I don't mind. The main thing overlooked is the shadow ability: it screws up and disrupts crews with masters or models with Fast and/or Nimble, an example I do alot is against Von Schill, multiple times i've shadowed him and combined with the option of moving or not and only having to move towards and not directly towards i've been able to run in and tie up 2-4 minions (desperate mercs, ronins, convict gunslinger, friekcorp troop guys, etc.) for half a turn to one turn until justice can run in and desimate everything. And to be honest about 50% of the time the hunter will make it out of the first melee encounter still alive and ready to disrupt the next obstacle heh. Back to the list I wanted to add one for mine: #6 Scales of Justice totem-2ss: Has great synergy with both watcher and guildhounds, one free discard and draw, Casts Justices melee expert spell freeing her up to use her AP other places!
  11. Yep if you've played those games, you'll love Malifaux. Welcome.
  12. I can do a top five non-masters: 1. Austringers-5ss, 18" non-LOS ranged attack, distract trigger, and deliver orders. 2.Nino-7ss, 16" range with excellent CB, hunter n scout, normal "family" abilities, and two excellent triggers. 3. Guild hounds x2-6ss, gives a soulstone, huge range when paired, not bad dmg output for 3ss models, can benefit from a ton of synergy with different types of lists. 4.Watcher-3ss, non-insignificant, great flight speeds, helps with card control and can eliminate Terrifying, harmless, pitiful, and cover mods from enemies. 5.Hunters-6ss, Construct, shadowing can give it great movement up the field, ambush against non activated models, drag n flurry help somewhat, has armor and wep naturally slows enemies. Now some you'll see alot of like Nino and some you'll see barely any (hunter.) But I personally think these are the top 5 guild models and I used versatility as my base for my list...Adapt or die, Hooah!!!
  13. Alot of people use thin foam n cork boards which are easy to cut n stack into slabs like from a fallen wall smashed up. Also theres different sized pea gravel and also you can cut sprues from warhammer miniatures into odd shaped pieces, and if you use some coarse sandpaper or a tumbler you can grind them to smaller portions. You can get water effects from a bottle sold by different companies, use "green stuff" to model different structures, and also if you go to a craft store in the fake flowers or landscapes you can get brush, grass, and tree affects. I'm sure theres a ton more stuff people use, but this should be able to get you started with ideas.
  14. I believe you are correct in this situation. From looking at the Rules FAQ and the Damage Resolution FAQ, it says "damage inflicted" is the total amount suffered Before reducing effects are taken into account. So yeah on a severe you would heal 5 even if the opponent has armor or use soulstone, if they do have one or more of those then they'll still take the reduced amount of damage.
