I guess what they could have said on the card is that the condition is only removed once VP is scored from it. Or scoring VP from it removes the condition (similar to the way scheme markers are sometimes removed to score points).

Otherwise getting Marked on models like Bette Noir means you would only ever really need to target her to get your points for the scheme.

This is correct and the intended purpose of the wording. It is a scheme which can score all in one turn if you do it right.

  3. Just a reminder that we still have demos of Malifaux available in the New Hampshire area. Happy to coordinate time/place with people, but Tuesdays are still our usual meetup date at Milly's Tavern in Manchester, NH.

P.S. Stay tuned as we'll be doing another "Demo Day / Open Play" in the coming months, this time it will be at Adler Hobbies in Manchester, NH. Will post up a separate thread on that when we have details.

I'm putting this here in hopes of starting a strong enough discussion to be included in an upcoming FAQ. This is throwing my local player group for a loop with no good, solid answer being available.

Sloth has a DF trigger that reads "After this model fails, the Attacker immediately ends its Activation."

"After this model fails" is not the game-defined term for triggers "after failing," meaning we have to interpret in common language, so the trigger resolves at success / failure before the damage flip of the Action, meaning there is no damage flip or Action effects. That makes this trigger very, very powerful and we want to know if that was the intent, since writing it as "After failing, immediately end the Attacker's Activation." would adhere to the normal timing rules while still being clear.

I am aware Malifaux is written to be read with common sense, but the intent here is not clear and if a game-defined term can be rewritten like that then defining a specific term or phrase in the context of the game means absolutely nothing.

Please take a look at Page 26 of the mini rulebook.

After failing: These effects are resolved after Step 5, and only if the model with this Trigger fails the duel.

i i was wondering if any one has any way to get a proxy or just a way to get baby kade for neverborn as the box set with him in doesn't seem very good and not real interested in pandora or sorrows?

The Pandora box is quite good, I recommend just about every model in that box. Just worth buying it and using the baby kade.

  6. I know I'm not part of the UK scene but rather than do a score sheet for people. What if at the end of an event every player gets to choose one person they played against to earn a token/ticket (virtual or physical). This is recorded by the TO and at end of year the Rankings shows how many a person has earned.

Don't use it to adjust scores or anything but at least it publicly promotes and acknowledges people who are consistently earning these.

Sportsmanship shouldn't be boiled down to a set of criteria defined by a group or single person. Let a persons enjoyment during a game (something only he/she can define) be the deciding factor.

Ill say that here in the Northeast of the US we've had success with this concept on an event by event basis. We do a raffle and everyone gets a single ticket to put in for an opponent they played during they day who they think was a great opponent. The concept mentioned above could be an extension of that which is simple and tallied over the year acknowledging those players who are cinsistently fun/stellar opponents.

  7. Awesome. I have an 8-player, 16-player, and 32-player kit on the way for upcoming events! This is so cool. Really excited to share this with the local players who've been chomping at the bit for stuff like this.

What can attendees/players/placers use the Scrip for, are they something they can trade in at cons or something? I mean they're cool in their own right but I'm sure people will want to know if they have any other special value :)

  8. Well you could run it over two weeks? See if you can get ~8 people to commit to showing up 1 week, and do 2 rounds that week and 2 rounds the next week. Then at the end make sure people get the stuff from the new Tournament kits. I'm sure those guys would love that! They're a new group so anything organized for them is a big step as they don't have a dedicated Henchman at the store....well i guess they do now :)

If you need any resources let me know.

I love that they all look very similar. Invokes a sort of "What a minute: Didn't I just see that kid over there.....?" scenario in the 'ol mind theater. Can't want to get my hands on these!

This is exactly how I feel. I'm incredibly happy they look so similar. It's what I expected. Perfect and awesome. Can't wait to get my hands on them.

  10. Thanks for all that came out. Especially, one of my locals Blake (@Pryokon) who was key to the success. Without him I wouldn't have been able to help all the players. We had 14+ players, and people just kept playing. Lots of games were played and we even had @turtleclub13 come down and play some games. He may start running some events out of The Complex, which would be great.

Met a lot of great people, and really excited to help grow the community more North.

Thanks for adding the event.  The tournament should be March 19 though.  I'll be posting it here in the next day or two as well.

Ah, yeah a typo here on the forum, I did put it in the calendar correctly. Fixed it. Thx. Yeah someone told me about it from FB so figured I'd get it added.
