  1. Hi, I've created my first gallery and uploaded Teddy. I'll upload the rest of my Lilith (and other) gang as and when.

My Teddy figure - never actually used in anger yet.
  3. Hi, So I've finally got my Zoraida box set painted and with the two Waldgeist from my Lillith gang I have enough for a 45SS gang. I know, from what I've read, that Zoraida can pretty much work with any models. I also note that there doesn't seem to be a Zoraida Tactica. Has anyone got any advice about how to run a Zoraida gang using Silurid, Bad JuJu, a couple of Waldgeist and a Nurse. Or should I look at a totally different make-up - although this would seem to be a pity given the fact that she can work with Swampfiends. All advice greatly appreciated.
  4. Thanks, for your replies. I can see your point Shadowfane. However, Paralysed is not quite the same as wasting your AP. if you are paralysed you have a Melee range of 0 and so you have no melee range to stop people leaving your previous melee range. Also, don't know if Lenny has any, but he would still be able to have taken a 0 AP after the failed duel. OK - so is the consensus that the Horror duel is taken but Lenny can still charge whether he passed or failed? Which does bring another question to mind. The Rogue Necromancy gets to make a free Ml action if anyone fails a WP duel within 6". So letc say Lenny was within 6" and failed the duel. He still charges, when does the RN get it's free attack? Thanks for your time and input.
  5. Hi there. Played a game last night vs Gremlins, and there is a character that has 'ignores all conditions'. Pretty straight forward with regards to poison, etc (I was playing McMourning); but a point came up about Horror duels (he wanted to charge my Rogue Necromancy). So, is the Horror duel still required? We played it that the player did need to take the Horror duel. If he passed fine; if he failed he wouldn't be Paralyzed (as he is immune to all conditions), but he wouldn't be able to charge the Rogue Necromancy, and had used 2AP. Were we correct? Thanks.
  6. Hi I have a Lilith grow gang: terror tots, young nephelim, mature nephelim and a couple of waldegeists. I was just wondering is there a Neverborn master who is a natural follow on to Lilith? Ie you don't have to buy a whole slew of new figures. I was thinking Zoraida (although I'm waiting for the new figure as I never liked her 1.5 incarnations).
  7. I notice Jakume isn't on Kirais summoning list. Does this mean Jakume can't be summoned?
  8. So there are some very nicely designed cards for use in the game with regards to Strategies and Schemes. Does anyone know if Wyrd has any plans to produce these? I for one would certainly buy them.
  9. Hi, So the title pretty much says it all. I'm going to play my first Wave 2 ME game this week and as a Kirai player from 1.5 I'd like to pick her up again. I've looked through the cards, etc, etc and as I'm looking at Ikiryo the thought comes in to my head. After looking at all the other cards I cannot see why you would want to sacrifice her - in 1.5 it could be used as a hand cycling schtick but not in M2E. Thanks for your time - and advice.
  10. Thanks for all the advice - I was tempted to think of these as never used figures but glad to see you have set me straight.
  11. Just got a new Lilith gang - normally play Ressers. Have bought a couple of Waldgiest as part of my initial purchase. Never actually seen anyone mention these guys - are they any good or should I just park them and let them gather dust?
  12. I saw this tussle and that was exactly what she did - she had taken Armour 2 if memory serves me correctly and every time a witchling stalker died they were close enough to harm themselves with their Immoliating Demise ability, so down to 4 wds immediately.
  13. Hi, The following questions are prompted from an earlier post about Flying and Charging. However, it was an old post and was closed before I could ask the following. Can a character (who cannot fly or float) charge a target who is on a different level - a Ht1 ledge say. What about a Ht3 character (LCB for example) who wants to charge a Ht1 character who is standing right on the edge of the ledge? OK - now the same questions for characters with float and flight. In all the above I am assuming that the charger can see the opponent. I know that in the LCB example he could just as easy walk up to his opponent and attack him, I just want to know if he can charge him. Either way I would appreciate page or FAQ references as I have looked in the rules and in the FAQ and I coan't find anything about it. Thanks for your time
  14. Wyrd must really hate diagonal lines. A while ago I tried to argue that diagonal distance should be taken in to account when measuring distance. I think it was fair to say that I was shot down in flames with not one person agreeing with me and all saying measuring horizontal distance was easy and straight forward. Even though I highlighted a possible scenario where the game distance between two protagonists dependended on what they were doing (melee attack or spell attack). Anyway like I said 'shot down in flames'. I have an idea for a new character. Don't know about his other abilities but he is instinctual with the following two powers: (0) Lower a 30mm piece of scenery by Ht1. If you are at Ht 0 this has no effect. (0) Create a 30mm piece of scenery directly where you are standing. You are now at a different level to the immediate terrain. I know the above is flippant - and let me say I love the game but at times... Surely a HT3 creature (LCB?) should be able to charge someone on a HT1 piece of terrain, for example? Want a simple, easy to administer rule? Any creature may ignore a HT of their HT-2. IE To a HT 3 creature a HT 1 piece of terrain is trivial and therefore does not need to 'climb' it, they just step on to it.
  15. Kirai uses ANY spirit - that is her playstyle. If you don't have to pay an extra soulstone cost then surely that means that the designers actually meant for those models to work together?
  16. If memory serves me this issue has sort of been tackled with Hamlin and his rats because they are the only thing that is summoned if a rat dies. In a Kirai vs Hamelin every time a rat was killed, due to Kirai's Spirit Anchor ability (Basically summon a Seishin if a living or undead is killed within 8" of her) and Hamelins Voracious Rats abilty(A rat is summoned if within 6" of Hamelin - but no other creature may be summoned) we had to measure the distance from the rat to Kirai and Hamelin and the nearest Master got the benefit - assuming both were in range of course.
  17. Hi, Why would anyone take My Little Firend over Kill Protege? My Little Friend: Your Copycat Killer must kill an enemy model worth 7 soulstones or more, a henchmen or Master. Kill Protege: One of your models must kill the enemy model worth the most soulstones. My Little Friend can be so easily stopped by killing the CCK and now you have lost a possible 2VP. It is also not easy to get the little guy close enough to do the killing. As an added twist if you take aSeamus (one of the better Avatars) and he manifests your CCK is removed so you better do it before then. Kill Protege: Generally if you are targetting a 7 soulstone figure these are probably the best in the gang anyway. Not always easy I know as I have just fought a gang with two members costing 8pt and 10pts. However at least anyone in the gang can kill the target - and it is probably going to be your Master (who can't complete the My Little Friend scheme!) A final point - if I had been fighting myself (or an identical gang) I would have had to kill the Master with my Totem as my max model cost was 5 soulstones, and with a CB of 3 for both melee and ranged I wouldn't rate CCK chances against a Master. Why don't Wyrd give him some means by which he could boost his ranged CB, at least give him a chance of completing the Scheme. Anyway I would love to see a scenario when My Little Friend is the natural choice over Kill Protege but I can't see it. Thanks for your time.
  18. Hi, Would it be possible to place a sticky at the top of the post with a link to the Malifaux module? I've just been on the Vassal website and searched their modules to no avail! Thanks
  19. Hi, A simple question - but one I cannot see clearly explained in the rules to my satisfaction. The recent thread about Avatars reminded me about this, when attaching an avatar do you: purchase your gang, get your soulstone pool then reduce this by 2 because you have attached an Avater to your master? Meaning your maximum soulstone pool is actually 6. OR create your gang and 'purchase' your Avatar like any other model. Hence meaning you could have an 8 stone Soulstone pool if you wished? Thanks.
  20. My apologies - it wasn't something that I went in to with the intent of tricking anyone. My low post count is obviously that I never post, hence do not have any previous experience to call upon. In future if I wish to begin a discussion I will indeed make it clear up front. The clarification post above was prompted by my discussion in real life with the previous poster. Apologies again, there was no ulterior motive other than to try and prompt a discussion on what I preceive as a strange rule.
  21. The purpose of my post was to prompt a discussion about how range is measured within Malifaux. I know how it works in the game, and just in case you are wondering I have not been in the situation I describe. It is a credit to the game writers and others that rules are looked at from time to time, and amended where they are ‘needed’ for the balance of the game - hell they have just changed Hamlin in a major fashion! I find the spell range vs melee range distance an odd ‘wrinkle’ and hence, my purpose was to provoke a discussion on this particular point. I will concede that using actual diagonal distance may have some other effects within the game, for example “How far could LCB reach with his claws vertically?”; and it may make some things trickier (I use the word trickier deliberately as I don’t think any change would make the rules any more difficult to follow). It would also seem that I am in a minority of one about this as no-one has actually said they would prefer to measure diagonally, with reasons being given of “it makes the game easier” to “I don’t like maths”. I am of course, disappointed that the post generated such a negative reaction but I still stand by the fact that this doesn’t mean I was wrong to want the discussion. I concede that I can’t see the rule being re-visited but at least I have had my say *happy*
  22. I can see your point. It would need some rules for model height and melee reach and LoS revisiting (although the shadow rules cover elevations fine in my opinion) It still wrankles that an top of my tower from 6" high my 3" range spell can affect all within 6.7". I know it isn't supposed to be hyper-realistic but still!! Thank you all for your input. ---------- Post added at 07:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:15 PM ---------- Easy to do that. Measure horizontal distance, measure vertical distance either consult a table or do quick calculation.
