  1. Whoops! When I set up the league, I forgot that most folks would be busy with Thanksgiving, and getting games in might be problematic. I'm extending the last week through December 7th.
  2. I will not be able to make a regular league, but if y'all have any tournaments I would very much like to attend!
  3. We will also be having a painting contest after the tournaments conclusion. In order to enter, you must have painted the crew yourself, and bring it in the be viewed on December 14th. If you are unable to make it, you may post pics in this thread, or on the Georgia Malifaux Facebook page.
  4. Had a couple questions about how folks can enter their crews for consideration in the Best Painted category. I would like for folks to be able to see these crews in person, and it seems like the best chance to do this will be after the tournament being held on December 14th at the Tower ( http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?48472-Tournament-December-14th-Tower-in-Suwannee-Georgia ). If you are unable to make it to the tournament, you may post pics in this thread, or on the Georgia Malifaux Facebook page.
  5. The Tower Game Center in Suwannee, Georgia will be hosting a Malifaux 2nd Edition Tournament on Saturday, December 14th 2013, starting at noon. The Tournament will use the following format: Three rounds lasting 95 minutes, with 15 minutes for set up prior to each round. Matches will be 50 Soul Stones. Participants will declare a single faction at the beginning of the tournament, and will then follow the "Hiring Crews" guidelines on page 72 of the rulebook for each game. Each round all participants will play the same strategy and pick from the same set of schemes, determined prior to that round by the organizer. Each strategy and scheme is considered unique, and will only be used once in the tournament. Winners for the tournament will be determined by most wins, with ties broken by comparing VPs. Proxied models and Beta rules WILL be allowed, but MUST be the most up to date versions of the Beta Rules. This tournament will be free to play in and will feature prize support courtesy of The Tower Game Center. To sign up, or for any questions, player may post in this thread, contact the T.O. at jlee1232@hotmail.com, or post in the Facebook group Georgia Malifaux, https://www.facebook.com/groups/georgiamalifaux/
  6. Here are the standings for the first week: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqcYvYlSe-ezdGt1MGt1NEJVclZtOGFPc1ozY2tyV3c&usp=drive_web#gid=0 This only reflects folks who have sent me the information for their games. I know that there were plenty more games played, but if folks don't report them I can't record them. We are getting some pretty cool prize support from Andrew at Tower Game Center (who ahs all his Malifaux pewter at 50% off) and those prizes are going to be handed out based on Most Wins, Best Sportsmanship, and Best Painted. Thanks to everyone who participated!
  7. Greetings all! I wanted to announce that we will be running a grow league in the Atlanta are from October 20th to November 30th. I've included rules for the league and information for signing up below. I would love to see as many folks come out, and kick the local Malifaux scene back into high gear. Thanks! This league will be a grow league lasting six weeks. Players can play as many games as they want, but need only turn in the results of one game at that weeks point level. Weeks will run from Sunday to Saturday. Dates and point levels are as follows: October 20th-26th 25 points October 27th- November 2nd 30 points November 3th-9th 35 points November 10th-16th 40 points November 17th-23rd 45 points November 24th-30th 50 points All league games will be Standard Encounters as described in the Malifaux 2E book. Players can use any models whose rules have been formally released in either the new rulebook or the second wave of beta testing. Proxying, within reason, will be allowed. Players are responsible for reporting their games by Midnight on Saturday. Players will need to email the League organizer with the results of their game, the number of victory points each player scored, and give their opponent a sportsmanship score with from 1 to 5. 5 is a joy to play, 1 is a grade-A jerk. Prizes will be awarded in three categories: Most Wins, with ties broken by victory point totals; Best Painted Crew, chosen by a vote of all players, only crews painted by the person playing them will be eligible; and Best Sportsmanship Score. 8. Just wanted to throw out a possible solution to make a Poltergeist that fits on a 50 mm base. I took the old Polt, glued him in the center of a 50 mm base, and then added arms and tentacles cut from an Insidious Madness. http://www.flickr.com/photos/100771455@N06/9975253284/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/100771455@N06/9975222586/in/photostream/
  9. Funny story, Last year between the Attack of the Con-Crud and various what not, it was almost two weeks AFTER Gen-Con before I got my goodies. Of Course, 4 days of that was taken up with delivery, even though tracking stated the package never left the Metro-Atlanta area. I'm trying to be very Zen this time, but I think my resolve will crumble when I start seeing pictures of folks new shinies.
  10. Coloring book, Huzzah! Also Rulebook, Neverborn, 10T, Resser card boxes, Lady J box set. Order #15987.
  11. Seeing the Death Marshalls and Ice Gamin solicited as separate items made me very happy. I hope this means that the models in last years' boxes will get released individually. No matter what, I'm super stoked. Has anyone heard anything further about two player box sets, i.e. contents, release date, etc. ?
  12. The War Store just posted preorders for the new rulebook, card packs, and new boxed sets, along with what look like a couple of boxed games of some kind. Check it out: http://www.thewarstore.com/wyrdpreorders.html
  13. I was fortunate enough to get to speak a little bit with Mr. Caroland today at CMON Expo. I am super excited about the new edition and would love to get to together to play test the beta when it drops later this month. Are there any people or groups in the Metro Atlanta are who would like to get some games in?
  14. I'll be there! I'm looking forward to putting my new Lynch crew through its' paces.
  15. Omen, I've had great success with the new plastics and the plastic glue I would use for GW minis. That's just my experience. Has anyone had problems (other than The Missing Beard of Yan Lo)?
  16. JWGraham that is an awesome table! Thanks for the heads up about the gravestones.
  17. I am preparing to make a graveyard themed table, and I am looking to see if anyone has any ideas or pictures they would like to share. I am thinking of buying the GW Garden of Morr set, and adding a few groups of head stones, maybe a dead tree hear or there. Perhaps my search-fu is weak, but I have been unable to find anyone stateside who makes cheap mini gravestones. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  18. Please add: Player: Kad Baz Continent: North America Country: USA State: Georgia City: Atlanta Club: Tower Game Center
  19. Got mine on Thursday, great model, although I will say you might want to ditch the finicky, pain in the neck plastic cables connecting his back pack and gauntlets. They are incredibly fragile and near impossible to get properly positioned, I eventually gave up and just used a pin vise and some very thin wire instead.
  20. There may not be anyone in Savannah, but if you make it near A-town, there is a group that meets on Thursdays at Tower Games in Suwanne, which is a bout 20 minutes northeast of Atlanta proper. (http://www.thetowergamecenter.com/). The Wyrd website also says that Galactic Comic and Games in Statesboro plays Malifaux, and they are much closer to Savannah. If anyone ever says they think the game is "too French" I really need for you to put on your best Pepe Le Pew accent and shout "Mon Dieu ! Ce n'est pas français ! Vous American ignorant !"
  21. Preorders are up through March: http://www.thewarstore.com/wyrdpreorders.html Looks like everything in Storms of Shadows is represented, with the possible exception of Sidir Alchibal (unless he is the Guild Box). There is no sign of Avatar C. Hoffman. That sound you hear is Wyrd designers cackling as they drink the bitter tears of Guild fans who got their hopes up again. ;P Assuming that another book will be released around September 2013, that leaves an approximately six month gap. I'm hoping this means that we will get new plastic versions of existing models. Any thoughts, hopes, or predictions?
  22. For me Mei Feng, Willie, and the Rail Golem were the only new Arcanists who didn't really fit in troop slots. Mei Feng will fit in one of the large slots, but I have terrible nightmares of her many spikey bits getting caught and broken when i go to pull her out, so off to the pluck foam with her.
  23. I'm will be moving to San Marcos, Texas at the first of the year, and I'm looking for a place to play some games. Can anyone recommend a cool store in either the Austin or San Antonio area? Thanks in advance.
