  1. Hey! I am also trying out a Levi crew for the first time and have a couple questions to just throw out there if anyone wouldn't mind answering (not to hijack topic) I'm really not well practised in my theoryfaux 1. A&D: Choose your fate, just out of curiosity, in rising powers it says if the charge didn't do any damage, summon a steampunk abomination etc. Does this apply even if say, the model charging didn't reach A&D? Or does it have to actually hit it? 2. Is there any real benefit to taking Lazarus outside of fighting guild or constructs? seems rather costly... 3. Should I plan on starting off with a few Steampunk abominations, or just really on summoning them the whole time? 4. Finally, I love the riders but does the Mechanical rider have a place in a Levi list outside maybe one including his avatar? Also has the release date been announced regarding Pale rider? Thanks again!
  2. So first, a brief description of what happened. I am a fairly new player to Malifaux (2ish months? maybe a bit more) And at one point owned a guild crew of Lucius and Lady J. as well as a dreamer crew Alas, they were stollen along with a bunch of other stuff in a bag. SO! I decided that the only real option was to simply move forward, however I am in no mood to rebuy and repaint the same crew (at least not just yet) I still want to play this game (it's my absolute favorite miniatures game of all the many I have tried) So I have decided to get started on Leveticus. I bought the boxed set as well as a desolation engine. I have no real idea what to get for him apart from the general consensus I've gathered here beisides Ashes and Dust (which is an EXPENSIVE model) The less undead models the better I suppose, simply out of taste (or distate). I play against people who, as a group own what i believe might be every master and henchman for every faction. TL;DR - What makes for an interesting if unorthodox Leveticus crew? I would like to bring stuff that throws other players for a bit of a spin
  3. For Lucius I would say to always bring an Austringer, or at least strongly consider it. Use one every time and always more than makes up it's points.
  4. Took that into consideration thanks though! I made the list using the crew creator to be sure it was all ok.
  5. So I'm thinking of forming a list that sort of represents the police force of the Guild. I don't have all the books and fluff however, and so sadly have limited knowledge. Hoffman Lucius -Drill Sergeant Guardian Austringer G.G. Captain G. Guard G. Guard G. Hound G. Hound Peacekeeper Warden 5ss Pool The list would be to go against Arcanists I suppose (kind of a police vs rebels). I am thinking Hoffman with Lucius. I am as of yet unsure if taking one less master will really effect my chances. But this is a "fun" list and a second master WITH Lucius and Hoffman means there would be a need for more diversity in minions. This is a list I hope to build towards in the future, but what do you think? any outstanding flaws in it or something that would fit better fluff-wise? Or if you have a better list Just let me know! The reason I got into Malifaux was the idea of running the police force (hence i grabbed Lucius and love him)
  6. As a member of CannonFodders group of players, I feel the games haven't really gone so far as 2 players beat up the 3rd before going at each others throats. The players seem even more focused on objectives in order to avoid being stuck between the other 2 crews. However there seems to be a trend, where the player who deploys on the other side of the 2 in the corners loses first, granted that has always been CannonFodder so far so maybe it's just him
  7. I've tried making a couple 35 point crews, Lucius gets the extra 4ss if he's leading, but I also like the idea of expanding (eventually) into including Lady J. Lucius Drill Sergeant Guild Guard Captain Guild Guard x3 Guild Hound x4 Guild Austringer 39 points and 2 ss (guild hounds) OR Lady J. Lucius Guild Guard x2 Witchling Stalkers x2 Lawyer (love this guy!) (for 33 points and a 6 ss pool) Although I do like death marshals, witchling stalkers look like they hit harder and burying against the dreamer seems completely useless... So far however I only have the Lucius Box, Drill sergeant and Lady J (mainly for painting purposes atm) Are these any good? or complete garbage lists?
  8. I live in Laval, Qc but do most of my gaming in the Montreal area So as I'm getting a better grasp of the rules, I'll be getting the Lady J. box as well as some guardsmen. The austringers seem to be very well loved and I didn't even know about the exorcist model in the first place! Thanks for all the replies but more advice is always welcome!
  9. Hi! So I just started playing malifaux a couple days ago (have played several 40k armies, fantasy and warmachine), I bought the rulebook, twisted fates (for fluff) and got the Lucius starter box. In my area there are a few dedicated players, but the person I'll be playing against the most will be my girlfriend who decided to take the dreamer box, and is going to be getting a teddy and some daydreams (apparently they're very cute). I've looked at a couple other threads but they seem to focus more on having a solid crew that can take on several different enemies, while I know I'll be playing 75+ percent of my games with the same player. What I'd like to know is what you guys would recommend to deal with these models specifically. I'm really liking the look of the guild guard but they don't look to be heavy hitters. Is there any obvious solution that will bring me to a similar point count and pack a good punch? Thanks a bunch! So far the fluff has been great and the models are fantastic!!
