  1. Really excited about this tourney, and proxying is allowed... awesome.
  2. I've been using Ratty's site, but I'd love for someone to develop an App. I'd gladly pay 2.99 for a crew builder and strategy/scheme list app for the iPhone.
  3. On Thursdays, Victory Comics in Falls Church has a good turn out. We've had a bunch of new guys recently start playing, the community has grown pretty fast! At Victory, we play mostly 35 point games. However, 25 points does get played. If you want to try out some crews and have some free time this week, we can meet up at Victory and you can try some out. I have all of the Guild and Resurrectionists, even though you don't like the Ressurs. Send me a PM and we can set something up if you'd be interested.
  4. Thanks again guys, still getting a grasp on things. If I have any other questions I'll be posting them here! You guys are super helpful, thanks a bunch!
  5. We didn't take bulletproof into effect either. That was another mess up on our parts. We've only been playing Malifaux for about a month, still trying to figure out which crews we like. So we missed the +df from melee and Papa Loco's bulletproof. I knew something was off, thanks for helping. Sonnia seemed way too strong, but now that you guys have helped catch this, we can play properly now! Appreciate the help guys. Would the dog have to take a melee check if he's not engaged with an opponents model, and just the other dog that's friendly? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I just don't want to get things wrong this week when we play again.
  6. He did, and he tried to do a damage prevention flip on the last blast but got a black joker.
  7. We may have screwed up at some point with the +df for the final target in melee. So it was a mix of us messing up with DF/Evasive and Sonnia being really strong with her blasts.
  8. Turn 2: Charged with one of the dogs, hit perdita. Companion on Sonnia. Sonnia cast her blast spell twice, once on one dog, once on the other dog. 4 from dog's strike, 3 from one blast from Sonnia. Sonnia casts again and it landed, hitting her for another 3. Total of 10 damage to Perdita. Before I could take my last AP action he conceded. Sorry if I was unclear. Still looking for a solid strat on how to use her Avatar. Thanks!
  9. One of the dogs was able to land an attack on her for 4, he didn't prevent the damage because he didn't think it was a problem. THEN BAM! Sonnia activated made the dog and Perdita go boom.
  10. Another question would be: Is it worth it to kill off the dogs or would you recommend another model? The dogs are just able to cross the field so quickly!
  11. Today I played as Sonnia at the local comic shop, and I threw in some guild hounds into the basic crew and replaced Samuel with Nino. 35 pts crew I went up against Perdita and we had Shared claim jump. Turn 1 he moved his crew towards the center of the board, except for his Nino. I moved the dogs forward, about 5 inches from his Papa Loco, and moved Sonnia up as well. Turn 2 I won initiative, activated the dogs then companioned Sonnia. She blasted one of the dogs, killing it and setting off blasts on Perdita, Papa Loco, Fransisco, and Santiago. She blew up the other dog as well, killing it and killing all of Perdita's crew except Nino. My question is this: Isn't this a tad bit overpowered or was I playing something wrong? This was my first time using Sonnia and this was also the first time my opponent played against Sonnia. I'm really loving her. Any recommendations for her as far as expanding her crew? I have her avatar but I have no clue how to use it properly. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!
  12. I just picked up the game two weeks ago. Would a new player like me be intimidated around the people that are playing? I currently play at Victory Comics on Thursdays and just recently bought my own crew. I don't feel like I'm quick enough yet, and I don't want to annoy the more experienced players. Should I participate in this tournament? The Victory group only meets once a week, and I'd have 2 weeks to get ready. Is that enough time?
  13. Aaron has recently gotten a bunch of us hooked into the game(including myself). Everyone is very helpful and it's a great location. Victory Comics is a very clean establishment and they carry a great selection of Malifaux figures. If you're new to the game or would like to try it out, stop on by! Everyone is really helpful. Looking forward to seeing you on Thursday.
