  1. ...I don't think anyones really objecting to something being done to make old models more playable...and maybe even some balance I can see buffs to some of the older models, making shapesfting easier for myrand is right up there on my list - other minor minor little buffs, Bishops to get rebalanced/priced, hans to get a little bit more 'bang for his buck' I can even see the cuddle gun lineing up on some things, hamlin in particular needs a little something to make him fun to play against and not, rat,rat, rat, rat...oh look you killed something it's a rat - Levi....maybea minor brush over...heck even the vics maybe limit the 3" sisters in spirit to base to base...making it a little less abusive (terrain hopping FTW) I'd give marcus an offensive spell or ranged gun....part of me even wants to put the jackolops to 2 SS as at 1 it is ludicriously cheep even if it really isn't that affective but for 1 ss it has more then that impact on the game...but as of right now marcus needs a little extra Little things, both cuddle and boost.... How I'd do it is pick a faction a month and get some feedback and then propose a list of changes to discuss then start 'working them in'
  2. It's a tricky one for sure...the trigger happy with the right hand/flips is fun...HOWEVER the custom ammo and experimental triggers can both be really useful.... If someone calls neverborn/rezzers I wouldn't hesistate to grab the gunsmith, the likelyhood is there will be a working target The others it's a 50/50 gamble, the armour piercing can help against some targets...but most of the triggers won't - but even then the blasts can kick in as can the experimental If I had to pick one, it'd be the gunsmith...but ideally I'd have both options open

Seriously that's not a bad strike force - 1/2 silent ones....and something to bodyguard raspy Depending on the SS level that's perfectly viable....with the gun smith the Large steam punk would make a good guard and that's 14 SS left at 35....could add the 2nd silent one and still have 8 cach....
  4. Mine will likely see a brief resurgance - i want to run it with rouge necromancy ...if they made transform/shape shift or whatever it was called easier to cast i think it'd see a little more play

  6. Also vics tend to be ss heavy...joss is nice and cheep...rider seems ss intensive for another melee hitter when the vics It's all theory right now and it's such a nice fluffy little extra
  7. Anyone given any though to what archanist constructs will be particularly handy....part of me was eyeing joss I rather think he'd like being in a vics crew...a spider swarm is probably too costly...miner may be interesting as well

BUT this was the first time I had everything laid out on a plate for me... And yes I am now eagerly awaiting book 4 at our local club and have already selected an appriopriate rep....and that's one mod I'll have on pre-order
  10. To run properly - more Your looking at at least another pack of gremlins, 4 mozzies, all the piglet stuf.... There is part of me that says it's not the best choice, and given the cygnar maybe guild would be a more appropriate home. Saying that I started with Marcus - lots of expense, not a powerhouse, loads of options, then branched into levi... If after a short browse though the options he says 'yep I wanna run gremlins' then let him...but don't hesistate to point out in the long run Malifaux is balanced on faction not master - so does he see himself plaing any other master in outcasts?
  11. While having a vast amount of ablities and powers is nice sometimes a more focused and simple approuch also works. The problem with things like jack daw and riders is the amount of table time you need to work out how they work... The mauler I dropped on table, run it up one flank by it's self watched it chew up a ronin and scare the bejezus out of sue buying me time to down him. Jack on the other hand I've used twice and I don't have a clue how he works, really...and I've read that darn rule novel enough times. ...so right now the dreadbear will be getting a lot of table time as he's fun and funky, daw will likely get another few runs in time....but at 10ss out of faction he's almost a bear and a half...he needs to have a lot of impact on the game...
  12. I hope it does have the immune to blasts etc as normal form 'corps armour....but we'll see most blasts are low dmg anyway so wondering if the enhance armour is an instead of kinda thing But a mod blast can still put out 3 easily....which is only 1 wound i know...so ok maybe it'll be fine

That's a solid 25 spoints I'd never take the effigy - I love my bunny of doom far too much - I don't see him as a spell slinger and the bunny can cause so much trouble for 1 SS Night Terrors are certainly great, these and Slurids are your go to guys - Slurids cost more, but can do more....I'm trying to use them less but.... The Oni seems fantastic on paper and I'm looking forward to trying it - I think it may fill SOME plans - the other 2 MAY be better in others.... Avatar I may never use, I certainly don't plan on buying it....ever....I hate the mod it'd be a conversion job from hell to make one... Another real useful minon is the waldergiest if you're planning to expand

See I want to defend the box....but I can't Cerberus is outclassed (but I still like it as a hunting partner with a Shikom) The Rattler is so,so at best....the range is nice, it's mediocre - I take it sometimes but it's rare and more for newb games or people testing stuff And yeh Myranda is not worth taking unless you plan far too much around her (Rouge necro and her to have a decent copy spell lawyer works too or beasting Ramos/raspy or Mctavish)
  15. Problem is rattlers in box Swapping Myranda for a Mauler seems a good idea - i mean it's a frickin bear with 4 arms that eats your face....nice lure for demos
  16. He can burn 3 a turn sometimes I like having the stones to burn on ensuring things die - on getting 1st turns 5 is light - not terrible but light
  17. I second this - you've got so few mods one - 5ss is light with levvy but it SHOULD work ok

What I was planning was trying to out activate him, and then with the right cards in hand and soulstones, use the spell through the waif, waif dies summons new waif - wash rinse repeat - no rats left Would have canned the soulstone pool most likely and ment a crpapy hand for a turn saving the cards but HOPEFULLY I'd be able to kill most of the rats....
  19. No you're right - Shoudl have read the card harder and thoruhg about the rules interaction....guess I could played silly buggers with hollow waifs doing it - but the cost in cards/stones would have been excessive

As long as you don't abuse Hammy you're fine In friendly play that is In competitive play go bananas After playing against your list - I can see why Hammy is feared....and your concerns Nix is a solid pain to remove, the amount of firepower needed to take that thing down and what he does means you need to remove him The rats don't DIE - and there's more of them, always more of them.....yes i know you can kill hammy kill the catcher(s) etc then kill rats, but that amount of fire power a turn would be impressive One of the reasons I feel Levi is less reviled his death/rebirth cycle is actually easier to shut down.... Hamlin can go toe to toe with something then die and pop back up the other side of the board....Levi's need to stay within 10" of him....and they're fragile Any ranged threats and I'd have needed to keep at least one VERY safe..... He also needs to die every turn really to pull in cards. Hamlin is a card generating monster Levi can focus on one thing and given the cards/stones can generally kill it - a 12 wound mod can be halfed, halfed again and then steampunked. Or he can generate more steampunks...He's a glass cannon that refreshes - so one of the best ways to deal with him is wound him....a half wounded levi is less effective....so putting 2/3 wounds on him can spell the difference between a bomb round and a bum round. Hamlin cares not for being wounded - or hard to die, or the fact you only hit by 1 and should be on negative....or cover....he's also a darn sight faster then levi - but levi can spend wounds to move, but that limits his actions But yeh it's the never dieing rats - (unless you turn them into steampunks)....I can see cerberus being handy agaisnt them and hoarcat prides for my Marcus crew....that I feel is one of the biggest things I'll not enjoy against Hammy - I've got no problem with stuff being recyced - corpse counters becoming flesh golems - scrap turning into spiders as this all costs one of the most valuable resources, AP, you don't get something for nothing....cept hammy and his rats I can see how he'd be so easy to break and abuse and I have a rule of never touching something I can break....I have no willpower I will create broken evilness....as it's too tempting so I think I'll shy away from Hamlin - but thats my 2 cents woth YOU can run it and not loose friends I'D loose friends, teeth and probably consciousness.
  21. Yeh I'm a bit gutted brough one for marcus and loved it now it'll see little table time I can see why they did it but Arcanist get a nice minion - maybe evena little OP and the cuddle bat is swung -

IMHO 1) Lacks range - molemen will be ignored unless needed, and slurids turned into swiss cheese before the soulstone miners get anywhere.... 2) SS light with Marcus - he's squishy this is risky...and you'll burn 2 powering up SS miners so REALLY risky Thematically Ok....but functionally no.... I'd start gutting the list to make it better, the idea of a tunneling list is there....but I can't see an affective execution.....just bring a SSminer, or 2 as your sticks if you want, something to shot and something to grab objectives/harass. With Marcus you need to bu lots of stuff and get used to tailoring lists to what you're facing/expecting to face....

I run it once at 35 points and fell into the trap of it + DE = win My logic was the DE now doesn't suffer from it's losing a wd every time it does anything so I've got it for 6 points (as it still comes with 2 SPA inside like a kinder surprise egg) Great idea - 25 stones says not so great.....by the time you give levi a minimal cach of 6 you have 4 points left, enough for say a canine remains.....and max cach Yeh it's a beast Yes its fantastic But yee gods was it overpriced IMHO - canny opponents can shut it down move around it and generally avoid it....and it's bubbles of doom. Drop a SS and I'd say it's OK....2 would probably be underpriced I'd probably take it again but I'd have to run SS light (around 4) take rusty and the canine it and punks/SPAs and risk levi not always being able to get spells off and generally a little more risky in the SS Rep it and see if people will let you. And I like the Nicadem list idea....
  24. ...then people need to learn to hover and read the posters opening comments :-) On topic - I can see a few of the above mentioned mods The 'jump troops' or other lightly armed fast moving 'scouts' Some heavy weapons maybe - something along the lines of a grenade launcher- maybe a 2/4/5 armor piercing or 2/3B/3BB choice weapon ala gunsmiths to pick off hard nuts or blast open light infantry. Something more close combat orientated. MAYBE a medic, handing out hard to kill/die/wound and/or healing flips.

Can't wait to get the mauler myself - you'll really want a 'tank' with marcus somedays Rattler....I've had some joy with Cerberus - fantastic ambush hunter or hit and run....works well in some marcus builds Waldgeist - You get 2 in a clam and will never want more, sometimes you will want 2...or at least I have....unless you meant more then 1 pack As for molemen...I have them and I've taken them, they're actually really good in certain situations (they really can help defend supply wagons for example) and as defend me targets....but they're far from must have And Silurids - buy these now....I love them
