I was writing a response and it went on a bit, and I realise that it's just going to end up being circular. Thank you for your contribution CN, but I have nothing to say to you on the topic. Edit: and thank you for the edit to your post
  2. I wish you the absolute best of of luck. You can only take crooligans, necromancies, belles (rotte, sybelle, and dead doxy), and the two totems you have. She cannot have any other types of models Crooligans are more for blocking objectives; you sit them on things, go into defensive stance with your smoke up, and hope for the best; they dont have enough actions to effectively teleport and attack. What you really need is to find some way of generating corpse counters, and if you can't, you are a little stuck. Use Molly's spell to sacrifice your totem to try and kill a target enemy outright, then summon the necrotic machine back. Summon dead doxies, but start with belles. I really cannot recommend Molly, as I feel she is the worst leader choice in the game, but best of luck!
  3. Why doesn't Seamus start with blight counters from all those zombie prostitutes? I liked to view it that while in the soil of malifaux, they are residually charged. After, they are crystals requiring SOULS to power. If you are in tune with the soulstones, you are able to destroy them from the feedback activation~

Minimum 2 actions to kill, and slow to die. That's quite fun
  5. As a Ht2 model you can see a Ht1 Model over a Ht1 wall, and they can see you; partial line of sight Fences are Ht1 with blocking; you find that most people house rule things like chain link fences that are high as being impassable but not blocking/obscuring.
  6. Differs for different people. As a Gremlin player, my turns generally take longer because I tend to recycle models to out activate, as well as do a lot of mass movement with things like Sooey! and specific measurement/placings to avoid Stampede going wrong combined with plenty of extra card flips from 3 actions and low duel totals giving minus flips. Tournament games usually end at around turn 6 for me. Really it's hard to say anything on it without an open answer of things like "Can't hide form Chompy!" or "I'm coming to you anyway"; but essentially it boils down to the art of war; if the enemy has to play to you, then you have the advantage. Against the majority of masters knowing they must come to you means they are spending activations advancing, or not specifically engaging; which lets you react. Masters have use soulstones, so by and large you will find that it is the master vs master combat that decides the engagements in contain power (even if I would be using Ophelia for the hammer) In Slaughter, if I take your model, before you take mine, you now have to play to me, and Malifaux is a dense terrain game. There is exceptions, and no real sure results, but the majority of the match ups have this as the case; even if Collodi and The Dreamer don't agree, or it turns into a Pigapult vs Austringer face off. In practice in my locals and in tournaments, I see Contain Power get a lot of draws as neither player over exposes their master, or fights for the advantage. Or just be a stomp by the stronger player vs a newer at local games, usually based on experience or the newer player thinking the way to go is to rush everything at the master, while they are whittled down by the enemy crew. Slaughter is much the same; if one person sees it as RUSH IN AND KILL, they will be the ones losing more soulstones of models. but I have 2ss models that can do 12 damage ;D
  7. Legal terminology is academic. Cir et id: Institutional Racism as a reference. My sincerest but I will be reporting the post, even if you do not consider the racially offensive content to merit a response because you meant it in fun Further reading: http://www.cps.gov.uk/publications/prosecution/rrpbcrbook.html
  8. I would not recommend Hamelin~ 9ss for a non ss using model who you are paying for his Ht1 hire rule that the Viks cannot use =< His black death hurts your living crew, and you can't obey the Viktorias! Which is really sad, because if he could obey them both with one cast, he'd be a wonderful model to take! As it is, you are wanting to use masks on him for recasts, when viks want masks He is cool though, so you should buy him anyway ;3
  9. Sacrificed and Killed are two different terms that do not overlap in any scenario.

Of course~ Necros hard to wound as well as slow to die?
  11. Sarsnick: When I'm shooting my own models to make sure they have 1 health for turning into piglets, or reducing Raph to 4wds, I absolutely hate red jokers ;D Even more so if I am casting a spell that only requires a 4+. Or when I am trying to out activate an opponent and red joker for the initiative. Just like I am happy to flip a black joker on my defensive flip vs a spell on my own model, or when you have soulstoned an attack that is at 32, and I couldn't stop you getting a + flip
  12. If we went by skin colour alone, we wouldn't have racism between the majority of Caucasian British and Caucasian Polish immigrant workers. Luckily for the Courts, you can't have racism between Yorkshiremen and Londoners
  13. von Clausewitz: If you note from the attachment: Damage Sequence Begins Before damage triggers activate Check attacking model state and apply modifiers (slow) Check defending model state and apply modifiers (switch) Fate flip for damage and note damage value During damage triggers activate Edit: Writing my post before your second post turned up, not bothering to change this post ;D
  14. "any people united by common history, language, cultural traits, etc.: the Dutch race." Racism against Bangladeshi people is the same as being racist against English people; it comes up quite a lot in my line of work. Just like you can be racist against the Welsh. You are indeed mixed race, even if you are an Irish national (I assume)
  15. Because the person that rushes their master forward is the one at risk of losing him most. It's a bit like how Shared Slaughter is best played by killing one model without losing one yourself, then hiding away. Certainly every time I've seen it come up in tournaments, there is usually only one table that doesn't end 4-4

Certainly. There has been no question that he is not more effectively used as the counter drop, and this has already been mentioned in the thread. How come necropunks over night terrors? Though sadly I do not play ressers; I am hiring at base cost.
  17. Very specifically, attitudes like yours. The sort that believe it is perfectly okay to start bustling in and telling people how to act instead of clicking the report button, or PM'ing it. Acting as arbitrator, much like I am, is hypocritical, because you are not the arbitrator, neither am I. The only difference is I am aware enough to realise I am doing it, which makes it worse =3c At least I'll make the effort to contribute whilst mewling weakly in some vague self cathartic and entirely unheeded way~ Yeah, the struggle for me there is that with Gremlins, you've got McTavish as your only real neverborn resistant/outcast neutral pick. I certainly see this as the case with some masters, but I know the Exorcist tends to only come up in the Neverborn and Resser match up. While my core gremlin list looks generally the same, I'll build toward the goals in question. I'm more likely to have "Line in the Sand" list and "Slaughter" list, than I would "x master list" Do you feel Malifaux is at the netdeck stage, where x master is always going to be fielded with near set or modular builds? I mean there is a large propensity for there to be more "faction" specific extras that assist you vs those factions. How would you envision the difference between how you would build vs ressers, vs how you would build vs McMourning, for example? Less of the abject racism, please.
  18. That's a very hypocritical stance to take, given you are perpetuating this with these responses to Calm Down. Hatchet: One of the interesting things I find with Outcasts, is that my lists for fighting Outcasts are very similar, in much the same way as my lists against Neverborn are. With what I build against the faction, generally applies across the board. I will use very similar lists, as a Gremlin player, because a lot of what I use doesn't work right against Outcasts (Von Schill, other Gremlins, Levi and Hamelin all stop my optimum gremlin output, and require similar lists to deal with/same changes in play style) A lot of the counters to masters are faction counters, based on the weight of the likely models to be fielded and threats to face. I do feel that you remain better off being faction vs faction, with no pre-master reveal, just because I don't like that there is likely some noticeable favouring to specific counter models. Screw Austringers ;D
  19. oops, must have edited out my comments re Kirai! I find pig lists are quite strong vs Kirai, as you have the ability to mosquito Pull My Finger at the seishin, and flying piglets that fail terrify/are away from the gremlins get 3 attacks that go all over the place, and it is quite easy to overwhelm spirit models with attrition. Do remember that you can just pigapult at your own models if you know it'll get kills. And anything in your crew can repair a pigapult, so if something is in combat with it that you can't hit with a bayou, you're free to just shoot the bloody pult and get blasts off only doing 1 damage to the pult ;3 or hope for severe with whoops~ Really you'll want to play a bit with everything the gremlins have, just so you know WHAT they have =3 Like all crews, the hardest part will be picking which things you take, and which things you cut each game, because you'll want to play with all sorts of toys.

Killjoy is nothing like Dr Mundo; he has no slow with percentage damage return, his aoe is from taking damage, no excessive regeneration that isn't from killing something... madness! MADNESS! CN's comments are, as you rightly identify, pointless. However, are you specifically saying that you feel he is likely to illicit enough of an impact to justify the cost for that specific use 1st turn placement, provided you have any remote competence (removing the objective grabber/key support mode/Som'er's only 3 Bayou's); or that it is entirely immaterial due to the random factors. Edit: Given this thread doesn't have the content of previous discussions; I specifically don't feel that Killjoy can impact a master enough in this scenario, and I still act under the "you don't always get what you want" hand
  21. Blinding flash goes off when damage is dealt, which is before the strike is finished resolving; see the attachment in my post
  22. That works very well with Ophelia ;D Things like getting Rami over obstacles using Ooh! A Girl! or companioning people in a chain to get rid of destructable terrain like Ice Pillars from Rasputina
  23. That would be a very cute fielding ;3

No, it is a very specific question. 3 actions, no more, no less; no inbuilt onslaught, no concern for the following turn. I am looking at, very specifically, how people feel he will return with just what I have set up. In the same way I didn't care to explain HOW I did it, I am asking in isolation. You may think that I want to know how he will fare with variables included, but I dont. I am aware that I can flip masks, that I might have a strong hand, that I could win iniatiatve to get further actions, that my opponent might not be able to respond with just one activation. Just like I am aware they might not be in the deployment zone. All I'm interested is in how people feel about the specific scenario I have raised. That you have a problem with it does not matter. That is my question. And in any regard, it is still 3 base actions, it just happens that the attacks have a mask trigger for extra attacks. To correct on page 3 is suggesting that we weren't aware of it, despite discussing it already. Your addition is belated, and unneeded.
