  1. Right you are then.... .... Sponge cake anyone?
  2. I'm happy with not knowing thank you and shadowy form doesn't stop ranged attacks it redirects them to nightmares in vicinity. Oh and thread was started by mindwarp. Oh and if it states that in the rulebook then why have the made the ruling? Strange things are afoot at the circle k
  3. Could ya post the link to the ruling please I don't believe you the wording on the card is clear. I said approximately 50% could be more could be less hence approximate. I certainly haven't lost more than 70 percent and ayes against the dreamer 10 maybe 11 times. And as I've pointed out I'm not as much of a sore loser as most of you ( ) because losing doesn't mean cack game or broken master. Most of the dreamer loses have come because perdita is nails and if you time your attack with her havin an awesome hand then she's gonna take everything you got, strip ya naked and call ya fatty. Oh and it's also dead funny to catch him with Von schills librarian and strip associated suits and watch him flounder trying to make a hand that works. And thank you! For my limited experience I must be the best player in the world cheers dude! Love you too x
  4. Oh and I still not 100% sure the initial alpha strike is totally legal. The way the card reads to me is the moment lcb is brought out activate him IMMEDIATELY, interrupting the current activation, which then resumes it's activation after lcb unless the dreamer is brought out as part of lcb interrupt. doesn't say immediately after the current models activation
  5. Ok granted he's not perfectly balanced and can be a daunting task to most crews. With approximately 50% win ratio my way, I don't think he's that broken. Damned powerful yes. But in order for him to be broken he would have do detract from my enjoyment in playing against him. He doesn't. I love the fear of running away from him and just scraping a win with points which to be fair is my main tactic against him. I don't see winning as the only way I can enjoy the game and until I'm been by him consistently and convincingly I still say he's unbroken and extremely Powerful. Perhaps ist just the sadomasochistic streak in me... I do support everton but I think we are going to have to agree to disagree, think I obviously enjoy losing more than you
  6. But you said you'd won because of serious mistakes on behalf of the dreamer. I'm just curious as to how many of us have beaten him without him screwing up? I've done it a few times ( even if thats partly down to my friend having the good grace to not throw the alp Gouda at me ), mainly due to the fact that I'm $$$$$$$$ scared of him and will do everything in my puny power to score my objectives while evading him or at least trying to. A couple of times I have managed to snare him by offing his closest bus stop ( daydream ) in mid flow and unleashing Ortega hell, all while I was trying my hardest to just destroy evidence. I suppose that constitutes dreamer mistakes but not vast ones because statistically he should have succeeded but for absolutely cheeky luck as mentioned before. And, like I hinted at in previous posts, with v3 is it not possible that we could see a twisting in the er fateage, and a vast power shift? Lemme guess you all ready it already?
  7. So absolutely nobody has beat him with a combination of Luck, opportunism, ignorance, strategy? Nobody?
  8. So am I right in assuming that nobody here has beaten the dreamer?.... ....: ..... ..... Didn't think so. How did you do it?? To anybody!
  9. I never said he was easy. I did however say in the right circumstances he is extremely killable. Which he is. I know im nowhere near as experienced as any of you but out of the games ive played against him ive had a 50 % win rate and only killed him once. And perhaps it's more due to my inexperience that I'm more willing to say $$$$$$$$ it! Bring on the challenge! I can imagine if you've had a new one ripped by him more than you've beat him, it would get tedious and by the sounds of things you've been trounced by him more than not. I still seem to quite enjoy getting beat by him if I manage to give him a bloody nose in the process, and getting beat by him has not been at the cost of enjoyment in the game. The only times I've ever beat him is when I've scrambled away from him and just scored my points, the whole while doing my utmost to keep away from him. If he's as broken as you experienced, knowledgable and excellent dudes say then I really don't think it would escape the attention of the wyrd dudes and then it's just a matter of time. The new book is called twisting fates so who knows? New card for v3 or suffer mere mortals?
  10. The dreamer/lcb or any of the nightmares are far from broken. His defence is poor as hell (quote"glass cannon") same goes for the dreamer. And if you look at any of the masters, as long as your facing them in their element, your doomed. I think that's the idea. I've taken lcb apart purely by being ready for his strike ( subtle sacrificial lamb helps) and stacking my hand to completely laugh at his attacks. Then with a nicely timed companion chain proceed to take apart his mode of transport makin his next appearance a lot more tolerable due to the fact that the dreamer player has to think a bit more about his excape. Relying on a summoned daydream just doesn't cut it for me. As far as I can see he's far from unstoppable, although he changes your crews modus operandi as soon as ya find out you against him. I for one can't sympathise with the whole he's broken thing because he gives a certain sense of excitement and fun to playing against him that I don't get from most masters. This being such a situational game where one masters comfort zone is tested in so many different ways it's hard to say this master has no weakness. I just dont buy it. I manage to find them every now and then and it's never reliant on someone messing up. That doesn't justify "convincing stategy". Watch him take one round from an executioner. Or nino. Before I've been consistently tabled by him, to me he remains extremely powerful, but beatable.
  11. Oh and daydreams turn into nightmares even if ya shoot them. Just states strike not melee strike
  12. Nice rant dude! firstly, I completely understand why the 6" inch when the dreamer dies. That wasn't what I was getting at. Also as a dreamer player I know annoying it can be when people focus on trying to convince the world that he's broken. He's not. He has a couple of really balancing weaknesses (much like all the masters(except maybe perdita )) and I've been on the receiving end of a few anti dreamer lists and sweated for a bit with most of them. If the dreamer is caught off his hop he's small fry as is lcb, they are both really fragile. I merely couldn't understand how lcb can be unburied and not activate immediately, as the card states.
  13. Or worse still tee off on lcb before he gets his retribution!
  14. Seems a little on the strange side to me. Surely if on of em gonna live the other should. They have the same ability that only goes off when someone removed from play. I suppose the difficult part is deciding who leaves first
  15. So in the same light; when a daydream is killed and ya bring chompy out with turn into nightmare, the enemy could still get away with remaining ap before chompy activates? Suddenly activating immediately doesn't seem so immediate! I was under the impression that "immediate" interrupted the current activation. And resumed current activation after chompy had his immediate one? Perhaps it's time for a v2 card clearing up the instances whereby "one master" is immediate or not. Strange that one master doesn't say "activates immediately AFTER this model" like it does with say companion or bond.
  16. Not that digression was occurring or anything
  17. Just a thought; daydream 2 (1) walks then casts (1) frightening dream. Unbury Lcb within 6". Shouldn't one master go off then and start Lcbs activation?
  18. Cool wasn't sure whether to resolve STD in the order they happened or resolve whichever interrupted first... If ya know what I mean. Strange though how if I'd have sat back and let Von Schill hit me first the executioner would have survived! I also had abuela ready to bark orders once he finished his activation, would have been better to activate her and have a pop at "matriarchs care", maybe give the executioner a second wind rather than relying on LTJ. we live and learn cheers guys
  19. Heres a quick one for ya; Executioner Vs. Von Schill Hard to kill has just brought Von schill back up to 1 wd. The Executioner socks him again, taking him to 0 wd, and slow to die goes off. No soulstones left so be stabs the executioner with his (1) ap action. Executioner then takes his remaining wound and slow to die goes off. Von Schill gonna die so the executioner walks toward his next target... ... Then our newbieness smacks us right in the jaw... Is Von Schill removed from play in time for loves the job to heal executioner. Or do both die because Von Schill wasn't removed from, in order to make loves the job do it's magic? Cheers dudes
  20. The reason for that my man is that over here we have it piped straight to the pubs from the brewery, whereas over there you get the stuff that's had a preservative added and it also kegged with a tetrapak, Antibacterial lining. You wanna try drinkin the cack they serve in Europe. For some reason Guinness and sons won't export draught, so instead the send these cans called chargers that come with no gas at all in it. Once poured into a glass it is put on a stange metal plate with water on it (doesn't work without water), ya press a switch, it makes a funny humming noise and your Guinness magically gets a head on it still tastes lik $$$$$$$$wasser though
  21. Managed to completely miss this post before eagerly hurling the last one in! I am thick at times! Thank you ratty dude! Makes sense, never had it explained before. And I suppose following the logical progression, and the economic model; this being such a peach of a system, coupled with the absorbing fluff and imagery, it can only grow with it's renown. Therefore, needing to replace with more cost effective plazzies.
  22. Not too well up on the actual production of miniatures, metal or otherwise to be honest, but I think I was just being cynical "The nameless ones" products just seemed to morph from a fun loving cheesy romp, into a coin producing cash cow. Which in turn lead me to believe everything they did had some lucrative agenda to it (which, with them, it does! Hence multimedia entertainment corporation) It took years but even White dwarf changed from a hobby periodical to a catalogue. I'm running sorry. I suppose, looking at it from a different vista, the change from metal to plastic was the least of their worries. As long as the cool mofos at Wyrd keep doing as they are doing with the most inventive piece of intellectual property I have seen in years, and the hardworking, most helpful, rules marshals continue their work within the community to make this game a living thing, then I have nothing to worry about really Thank you dude for helping me toward this conclusion I didn't quite understand what you said about the blister pack minis. You only know three people who just use stock miniatures and don't convert?
  23. I concur! Keep up the good word Wyrd!! Must be cheaper to make plastic otherwise 'They who should not be named' would have carried on with metal. I was that disappointed when I started looking into restarting 40k after nearly 16 years of not playing, that I didn't bother. Metal is good. Lord chompy bits weighs like he could kick your ass. When those little dudes turn up in the post you've got your money's worth out of the hideous postage. It feels like a cool package rather than a box of air. Please Wyrd, don't sell us pants plastic stuff. It's ok, my wrists can withstand another few decades of lifting them heavy little buggers. For thine is the flurry. Soft cover, hard cover... Amen
