  1. Lucius, please and thank you. ---------- Post added at 08:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:23 PM ---------- Good luck with that, I might write software for a living but I'm no limp noodle. Actually, the exact quote from my massage therapist while working on my hands and arms was "Chris, do you actually write code, or do you punch it until it compiles?" "A little of column A and a little of column B."
  2. Woooo. Home after 12 hours at the office. Beer me.
  3. I'm pretty sure he's coming to Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville on October 1st, according to my mother. I'll confirm with her later and let you know. He's signing his new young adult book.
  4. Gencon was a fantastic time for me, and thus far everyone seems to have had a great time at the tournaments. What follows is the results of the Avatar of Malifaux tournament, the M2E Story Encounters, and the Achievement League results. The Hanging Tree -- Avatar Qualifiers Round 1 Two days of intense competition and more Collodi than you can shake a stitched-together doll at. The top four unique winners of each round played in a single elimination game on Sunday. M2E Story Encounters This year, we went with a non-traditional tournament style for the Story Encounters. Instead of a normal 1st/2nd/3rd/Spoon award, people earned raffle tickets based on their performance in each of the two rounds. This gave everyone regardless of their skill level a chance at the prizes. What's listed below is the number of raffle tickets earned by each player, instead of the traditional victory points. 5. Oh man, this exactly. She was even sweeter in person than I imagined, and I knew she was really nice beforehand.
  6. Everyone is correct: Tara has to spend a Soulstone to add the necessary :crows in order to trigger Sympathetic Echoes. (So glad I have my extra copy of the rulebook here at work, I can tell it's going to be a busy few months of rules questions. )
  7. Close enough. And you have no idea how happy it made me that somebody recognized the software.
  8. How in the heck did you get Hannah early? Is it a perk of being in the TTB beta or something? I'm at the "lol money" level on the Kickstarter and didn't get the mini yet.
  9. I was the guy who ran the tournaments. Does that ring a bell? *grin*
  10. Pretty sure we chatted a bunch, given you were hanging around my tournament table a ton.
  11. I can see the logic in your question. I think it's a bit of both, probably: the game is easier to grasp than it used to be, but we've been so overwhelmed with M2E ourselves that it's gotten easy to demo.
  12. I'm coherent, but mostly because I was out cold by 10pm and now I'm caffeinated. I still have to fire up the laptop when I get home and pull the tournament results off of it, although given the new format of the Story Tournament I may have to write those results by hand. The finals also need to be written by hand. The others I can autogenerate from the Logbook software.
  13. Avatars went great. Awesome players all around. TheGodlyness played Bfrench in the final round (I hope I got those forum names right), the former with Pandora and Collodi while the latter had Kaeris (I don't recall if he played with another Master). It was a fierce battle over a King of the Hill strategy, but eventually Blaine got tabled (or Kaeris had 1 wound left and that was all he had on the table) and it was over 8-3. My memory is a bit fuzzy after a.... very interesting and exhaustion convention to put it mildly.
  14. I was done after the Avatar final was over at 3:15, we stuck around for another two hours and then got on the road. Teardown was their problem, I was kind of done physically and mentally after running all of the tournaments.
  15. Yep. Exhausted and sore as all heck from the drive, but we pulled in around 8pm CST last night and unpacked the loot and bags from the car. (Obligatory loot photo.) I'm at work now, getting back into the swing of things and planning my week's projects.
  16. A fine pleasure to meet you guys (and gals), all around.
  17. True story: the M2E Story Encounters tournaments we ran had double the players participating as compared to the M1.5E Masters tournament and a fraction of the rules questions. And this was many folks' first time playing M2E in some cases. This tournament organizer is very happy right now.
  18. Depends on the timing (also I've never done any play-by-Internet games like this).
  19. Man, that does sound fun. I've heard nothing but good things about the IKRPG.
  20. Ah, right, they're participating this year. (I used to actually volunteer with the miniature hobby events crew before moving over to Wyrd.) Good luck, I'll be sure to stop by and check out the finish product.
