  1. Great start! Some helpful (I hope!) tips for photography: If you want it not to focus on the paint pots in the background, remove the paint pots! Your camera is trying to autofocus on what it thinks is relevant. Remove anything that it might consider focusing on instead of your models. Next, use ambient lighting, not flash lighting. Light that is being reflected off walls or scattered through something with an uneven surface can usually mimic this. (Edit: Looking at your other thread, you have some great pics there with a white BG! What gives? Too lazy this time?! )
  2. Very nice! I like that teal colour you used on the loincloth.
  3. Bravo! Exceedingly good, especially with such limited experience. Well done.
  4. Great bases! I need to get some water effects for my own bases... Nicely done!
  5. Terrific! Nicely done. I like your colour scheme.
  6. Very nice! I like your evidence tokens! I still need to make some of those myself...
  7. Yeah, it might be a bit muscluar, still though, great sculpting! Can't wait for more pics!
  8. Getting that table set back up is always a good thing. Welcome to the forums!
  9. Welcome to the forum! I expect WIP pictures of everything!
  10. Awesome stuff, Geck! Time for a group shot or two, methinks!
  11. Very cool! When you bake the fimo, do the erasers go into the oven as well? If so, are they just ordinary erasers? Awesome work so far!
  12. w00t! Yay! I am hoping it is closer to 9 days! 5 weeks would be an eternity to wait! Pics as soon as I get this sample deck! Also, in honour of the GPL principles, here are my modified Face Cards for use as Jokers which are released under the GPL license. http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/images/xander/malifaux-bioshock/cards/red-black_jokers.svg For the original face cards, please see here: http://svg-cards.sourceforge.net/
  13. Work in progress greens, please! Would love to see some tutorial style updates about your sculpting progress.
  14. I agree and thanks! I hope they look as good as I am hoping. Lots of people seem to want them, so that means I must have done something right! I am pretty happy with how the back came out. Thanks for the kudos. I want to thank everyone for their comments and suggestions! They really helped me along the way. Cheers!
  15. Sounds like a plan! Also, you should cast your sculpt! Can't wait!
  16. Good luck! And welcome to the forums!
  17. For those who haven't read through the whole thread and have been asking about how I am printing them, this is where I am printing them: http://www.printerstudio.com/personalized/custom-playing-cards-gifts.html I have designed the cards to match their card size and bleed amount. I may order a sample deck sometime soon and see how they are. EDIT: I've ordered my sample deck! Yay! Now we play the waiting game.
  18. 4 dots it is. Yeah, card back sounds like it will come down to personal preference. The trouble with trying to make a mirrored card back is that even the slightest error (and I can already see some) means that it may be even easier to cheat, since the person who owns the deck will be able to study and notice tiny differences, but his enemy may not notice them from across the table. If there is a definite upwards side, it should be much more obvious that the user of the deck is trying to cheat.
  19. I guess the bleeding cowboy does look pretty nice, hrm... EDIT:
  20. I will likely keep this font. I don't want to have the Bleeding Cowboy font; it doesn't suit the rest of the deck. Might add the 4th blood mark, and drop the 4, hrm... Comments about the purple stain on the O for zero?
  21. I reduced the contrast on the paper so it wasn't so drastic. It looks a bit older and dustier now. I also updated the jokers:
  22. I tried to make a version that was mirrored so it has no up or down. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good.
