  1. I just made copies of them and plan on laminating them so they can be written on with dry/wet erase markers and can be used multiple times...Paizo did the same thing with their free RPG scenario (no tear out and in the module) so I will be doing the same with their scenario...
  2. I just wish you guys were a little closer to me (I live in Hamilton)...we did make it down to Art of War once and got in a game each. We haven't been to Eastside Games n Cards yet...it will be closer than AoW by a little though. Thanks, Tim
  3. How many people showed up for the demo / game day? I may try to make the one on the 28th...I think I have something to do in the morning but I am thinking I am free in the afternoon.
  4. My son and I would be interested but we are beginners...only played a couple times...
  5. 1) Since you gave the buildings a HT of 3 that is the HT used to calculate falling damage. 2) Page 51 of the RM the top paragraph, last sentence: '(blah, blah, blah)...but when determining final totals, can choose to tie the casting total and suffer the Spell's effects.' Tim
  6. I have a quick question about the 'Beginner Friendly' event...what keeps this from being an 'experienced players dissimate beginners event'? I think my son and I will sign up for that event but we are both still pretty 'green'. I am hoping to play some more before GenCon, but not entirely sure how many games we can get in (I also need to paint his crew). Neither of us mind losing, but I am afraid of showing up to be wiped out in the first turn... Thanks, Tim
  7. No, because the line is going entirely through the base. If model A or model B had part of their base in the obscuring terrain then you could.
  8. I already live near Cincinnati! What game store? I am just getting into Malifaux and would love to meet other locals to play with / against. I just finished painting my Perdita Starter box and have to do my sons Lilith Starter box then we will be ready for small games until we get more minis!! Tim
  9. I will try my best...anyone correct me if I am wrong! You can add cards only when you are flipping to try and perform an action (not when forced to flip in other instances)...you can however replace the animation card before it is flipped. You can not dodge effects, only attacks Yes, you flip a card to try to perform actions...you can play cards from your hand to meet the requirements If it has a 0 you do not need to flip, just move to the additional payment requirements (discard a card in this case) It adds to the number of rips delivered on a successful attack. Combat +1 adds to the number of cards flipped, Skillful adds to the numerical value of cards flipped for non-attack actions When a puppet with a decay counter is 'Torn apart' it is instead removed from the game. This one I am not sure of... Tim
  10. I was thinking about playing, but I think I have other events planned for the time slots I am doing the Malifaux Speed Dating event since I am wanting to get into Malifaux and haven't played yet and I think those two overlap by an hour... Tim
  11. Thanks guys...I think for the Perdita crew I am going to go with simple bases (just gravel/rocks) so I will start with that crew and glue the mini to the base before painting...I will need to think about how I want to do Liliths box...
  12. Hi all, I just got two crew boxes of Malifaux and I am very excited on getting started in this game however I have VERY little experience painting and basing miniatures and was hoping for some tips and pointers. I have a couple questions on how to get started: 1) Should I glue the mini to the base before doing any basing work?! Or do people typically paint and prepare the base first then add the mini to a completed base? 2) If I add the mini first should I paint the mini then do the basing last or do the basing work first followed by the mini? The two boxed I have are Perdita and Lilith if that makes a difference on how I should proceed... I viewed a few videos on basing and they all appear to add rocks / gravel / etc with no figure on the base, but wasn't sure if that was just for demonstration purposes or if that is standard? If that is the case do I just cover the slit in the base with rocks, etc and cut the figure from the piece that connects the feet? I know this is a bit long, but I am really looking for good advise to get my miniatures ready for some games! Thanks, Tim
  13. Hey! I am from Ohio also and just now getting into Malifaux (my minis literally arrived on my doorstep yesterday!). I don't have anything painted yet and I am kind of hesitant...I have never really 'based' a mini and have painted only one or two minis in my life! I bought the Perdita box and the Lilith box for myself and my son... I live in Hamilton (north of Cincinnati / south of Dayton) and look forward to getting started...unfortunately I don't have alot of money to put into it right now (have 4 kids and one of them is graduating this year) so i hope to play some small 'starter box' type games sometime soon! Tim
