  1. I would have to agree that less than 100 actual game time for turns is a bit short. This game has a lot of interactions going on, and vary varied masters and synergies. In tournament play u are likely to be playing against models and crews u haven't seen before or rarely. So that slows things down too.
  2. Cheers for a fun day and thanks to my opponents, all challenging games.
  3. Ressers arcanists and outcasts final basically..no guild or neverborn.
  4. Seamus and kirai are broken and avatars will be severely broken!.....lol
  5. Yeah the strats against magic with his Hamelin crew was never gonna go my way, but gd game. And yeah ressers are broken Haha. Think someone should start a thread on how powerful they are! 2 ressers crews on table 1 final game. Well done to Ant on the win
  6. Was good fun. 3 games. Ended up me and magic playing each other 3rd game. We were 2 of 6 players who had won both their first games so any one of us could have won the tournament... Magic beat me 6-4...remind me never to play recon strategy v hamelin lol...
  7. Drive is tough, ita pelting it down with rain! Can't see the tarmac through the water on the ground!..
  8. First tournament finished, now driving to the coast, next up, Belgium!..
  9. Ah, in that case dont expect to get any Steampunks from me then! It is a rare game where one of my models gives the opponent the opportunity to get a scrap or corpse counter out of my girls, or kill one of them to convert their death into a free model...infact it has never happened yet, but it could I suppose....lol Should probably get this thread back on topic!...
  10. Hi Talos, Just spotted your online. Someone has posted up on the General discussion forum asking about players in and around Barnet, London. I know your a London player, so thought id just help the kid out and message you incase you can advise? the thread: http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?p=305704#post305704 Hope you dont mind me PM'ing you for this, just thought i'd try and help a fellow Malifaux player out, on the chance you can advise (I know London is a big place! lol)? Cheers Drake

  11. Roll on the Road Trip...Your boot got enough space for our bags and the trophies/prizes to be won?!....
  12. Looks like this weekend just got even crazier!...we gonna be conscious for these 2 tournaments!?! haha
  13. The issue for me is having different terrain pieces for different areas of Malifaux. At the moment, we use the same design buildings for all our outdoor locations, so what we need are different looking buildings so games feel like we are actually playing in different parts of Malifaux
  14. If that's the case I missed that...Although the tactic of activating the mannequin first still is sound as the Mannequin will be Wp 10 thanks to being next to Colette, so only need to flip a 2 or more to pass the Wp test to avoid gaining Slow again. Thanks for the feedback. Please do contribute with further tactics and suggestions. Im interested to see what I might not have thought of... Apart from the uses of the Student of Conflict, I havent really looked at tactics that can be employed using models outside of the Showgirls. There is also the flying bomb Doves tactic, but i'm not keen on this one as it generally involves 2 or 3 Doves being sacked that takes away the non Use Soulstone models' ability to use soulstones and Soulstones are precious! Though if you time it right you can have 4 explode in a single turn for 8 damage on a cluster of enemies... I may add this tactic if others feel it is worth including in the OP.
  15. Hey, respect mate, Second place is a great result, I did see you came second and nny came 3rd....My best result is second so far, but only played in 3, and keep coming up against the best UK players in the first round or 2 of each tournament! Dont worry, I will look forward to playing any and all those I get drawn against this weekend
  16. Now I know both me and Magic will be aiming for a game against him, as several of you have given the impression he is a strong player, and he won the last tournament so seems like the player to beat.... Just hope he isnt playing a Master I have never seen before...Atleast wanna know and see what his choice of Master can do before I play him...
  17. Thankfully I have played Magic's Hamelin a few times so know how to deal with and counter him, but Levi will be a whole new experience!... But 12ss of 4 models in one Desolation Engine is a Mannequin waiting to happen! haha
  18. Well, there is also the movement effect and Obey's in the game, many crews have access to such effects...i.e perdita, Lilitu, Colette, Von Schill (May have been Guard Captain, with Orders ability? I cant remember exactly) but yeah lots of different sources of making models take actions or move those models without them actually activating... Get them to relative safety before activating then go in and whack those Alps... I recently had 6 Alps Bomb me, they didnt do a single wound but were all dead in about 2 activations after... And even at a modest 18 points, if they dont kill atleast 2-3 minions with there bomb then they are wasted and will likely die...so gotta bear in mind its meant to be effective and if you do shut down the Bomb entirely, thats a lot of wasted ss worth of points for your opponent!
  19. That's fine, im Immune to Morale Duels
  20. General Tactical Points Always keep atleast 1, preferably 2, Mechanical Doves within 3” of Coryphée Duet Keep any 3rd Mechanical Dove within 3” of Cassandra (for protecting switched Duet) Activate Colette later in the turn to shift models around as needed, to avoid counter strikes/set up next turn, unless the tactic/situation specifically requires early re-positioning or cards/ss needed from her soulstone manipulation action Remember the Bash ability of the Mannequin to reposition Colette before she activates More Doves/Mannequins = more activations to control turns with Coryphée activation can wait in a turn if it is not under immediate terminal threat and has Doves nearby. Colette/Cassandra may get it into a better position before it activates
  21. Shared Strategy specific tactics for easier wins Steal Treasure (Companion) - For this, it may be worth taking a Student of Conflict..Give Cassandra Fast. Then run the Coryphee Duet up to the counter, Switch in Cassandra, grab the Treasure and Nimble back towards your Deployment zone with Southern Charm activated. Claim Jump - Disappearing act with Colette and Cassandra on centre last turn Slaughter - Hit and run attacks with Coryphée Duet, with help of Cassandra for moving around the board. Maximise kills and minimise losses. Drain Souls if necessary on Performer, Heal Duet and Cassandra. Scheme specific tactics to achieve scheme VPs quickly Power Ritual - Coryphee Duet move up one side for 3rd corner interaction 2nd turn. Cassandra move up (and Harmless 1st turn if at ranged threat, or 2nd turn if first turn safe from ranged attack) opposite side for 4th corner interaction 2nd turn. Bodyguard - Hold onto the Black Joker if I get it in my control hand early on. - Make most of Df Trigger Sabotage - Select a piece of terrain toward edge of board and preferably large to maximise contact
  22. Defending Tactics Mobile Pyramid Defence (especially against Dreamer) - Coryphée, Cassandra and Colette (at the base point) form up into an 18” Triangle, one on each point. Performer further back behind Colette just incase. This enables quick switching between models as the situation requires Static T Box Defence (against Wp attack heavy opponents only, especially Pandora) - Colette in centre of group with all friendly models within 4” forming T shape, Colette in top middle of T, Coryphée in one end, Cassandra on other end and Performer at the bottom of the T. Whole crew benefits from Wp bonus from Colette. NB: this easily enables Leapfrog, Poison Leapfrog and Kidnap tactics to be used… Shutdown enemy big melee hitter - Cassandra casts Mannequin’s Beautiful clothes on target melee monster Mirrors Defence - Mannequin and/or Cassandra cast Mirrors for protection Reactive defence against Dreamer Spread out for swaps with using Colette or Cassandra depending who the bomb is on..Always Keep Performer in range for Illusionist but out of the way in safety and Mannequin linked in base contact with Colette. If Alp Bomb on Colette, Bash Colette with Mannequin (Mannequin is immune to Alps due to being Slow already). Colette swaps with safe model (Performer). Next Coryphee move in for the kill on 2 more Alps. Should make activations a lot easier now. If Alp Bomb on Coryphee, Colette or Cassandra activates, swaps with Coryphee and then Magicians Duel/Flame Burst/Orchestral Crescendo on Alp(s). If Alp Bomb on Cassandra, Colette swaps with Cassandra and Magicians Duel an Alp. Cassandra then activates and moves in to attack Alps, before Coryphee activates and does the same. After my activations, 2+ Alps should be dead making activations a lot easier now.
