I've also begun to increase my painting shenanigans in preparation for Adepticon. I just gotta make sure I get my on-call time covered, but hopefully things go through...I'm already signed up for a bunch of events ;_;

I have a lot of interest with this thread and will definitely be following it. I end up playing McM more than any other master for various reasons (my main opponent and I both love Kirai and have a no-play truce due to how boring things would be). I don't get on the forums as much as I used to, so I'm curious to see how Von Schill will work out. A friend of mine has my book 2 so I can't get a good look at his stats very easily.

Hey all, I've got a bunch of things just taking up space and I'm willing to put it out to trade for stuff that I want instead. Anything I list as painted isn't going to be up to my current level as it's several years old at least. None of the bases have anything on them (well, a few do, but not enough to worry about). If you need pictures of anything, shoot me a message and I'll snap some shots. Love the eyes on the belle with the yellow corset! Really horrifying! I also love the yellow belle, I think I'll call her, "Daisy." And for those of you saying I should put on a highlight/drybrush for my ice golem, here is the updated version!

If I remember correctly, the rider for the Mechanical Rider is a female. You could just put her on the dead horse and do a touch of modding to make her look dead :-)

Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll give it a shot in the next few days and see if I can't get an update posted. I think a color closer to spacewolf grey will work better than white. And wookie gunner, your piece may hold the answer to what i should do with my Essence of Power :-D Just gotta get stuff done before SW:TOR gets released.

Blargh! I put a lot of time into my Ice Golem and I don't feel completely satisfied with him. I used close to ten layers if not more, and in the end I did what I could and am done with it. About the only thing I might consider would be a coat of varnish to give him a sheen, but that's debatable. Feel free to comment and give me advice for the next time I try to paint something made completely out of ice.

The way the picture of Lucius turned out it took me a few minutes to realize that it was an extreme closeup and not an oversized version. The paint job creates a cool illusion in the pic that :-)

I'm getting ready to paint Raspy and the Ice Golem this month. How did you do the shadows on the golem? Blues aren't my strong suits (reds are thanks to a Khador army) so I'm looking for some good tips to get a good ice look going. It looks like you have a really dark blue in the deepest recesses but then go up a few shades to a more medium blue followed by highlights.

This is definitely something to consider. First and foremost I always tell players to go for what you like, especially if you're a painter. You gotta love the crew before you can paint it :-) But yes Ramos and Hoffman have a lot of crossover, and Levi can use any construct so he makes a nice expansion. Most games from what I've seen tend to be 10 models or less with 12 or more showing up on a few masters like Hamelin (though there aren't many). You can literally pick up two boxes and play with those. My experience started with a Nico box, but then I wanted more....and it hasn't stopped. I'd suggest Wyrd make a support group, but I love my addiction too much. Also, no love for Ressers. We make constructs....out of body parts and dead people. It's a sort of construct...really...you just have to write it on the card and hope the judge doesn't notice...

I love how "Hugs" is coming out! The way the head looks compared to the rest makes him adorably horrifying! It's like some child ripped apart pieces of her dollies and stitched them all together to make one monstrosity, er, good one. Towards the beginning you mentioned using a bow or medal and that got me thinking (and this may be a bit late), but what about a 1st Prize Blue Ribbon? He could be Hero Teddy! As for the bow, I've recently had an experience where I tried to sculpt a couple of bows for a Strumpet's Necrotic Machine. I feel your pain on the scale size, but one thing I kept in mind (also to make it easier not to cry when trying to sculpt a smaller scale) is that sometimes a bigger, fluffier, over sized bow can actually work. It may be better on the Necrotic Machine than Teddy, but something to keep in mind. My sculpting is proto-noob if you consider yourself a beginner. I'm getting better, but I have to sit down and do more. I've been using Grey Stuff only so far and need to branch out a bit. I'm not a fan of the claws sticking out perpendicular to the pad of the paw. It looks awkward to me. It comes down to personal preference but if you have a way to curve them towards the paw I think that would add to things a bit. Perhaps the pictures don't show the claws that well, it's hard to tell.

Before I go and sink $45 USD on Malifaux tickets I have 2 questions a) If you win in one qualifier do you have to compete in another? Would you be able to get a refund? Can you change your faction to a different one after you've purchased your tickets?

I gotta say Geckilian, your Seishin have a "wolfish" look to them. It's weird, but kinda sinister too. It's kinda neat :-)

I love how the doves came out! Absolutely amazing detail on the cards and stars!

Only posting three Gamin this month, was busy with other projects *ahem* So here they are! The big comment about them has been, "Blue." Blue isn't my strongest color, so there's likely to be more like this. I think they turned out ok, though I don't feel any desire to go back and touch them up (that could be due to my other painting projects this month).

I asked Zombie Orpheus Entertainment about this issue and they said that shouldn't be happening and offered this link [ame] [/ame] Hopefully that works.

I have to agree with Calmdown (most of what I'm going to say is just reiterating). Snowstorm is ok for Raspy due to her cold feet (yes, bad joke, I know), but Kirai doesn't benefit from the mobility since she already has a lot of mobility. His combat isn't stellar, and I'd rather have a Shikome since you can get them in game and they have good versatility. The biggest benefit IMO to having Snowstorm on the field (as Calmdown said) is the Ice Pillars. I've been trying out Raspy a little bit and throwing down Ice Pillars is a great way to deny your opponent objectives, soak up their AP (assuming they try to destroy the pillars), or funnel them to where you want them to go. Given spirits natural tendency to ignore terrain, this is an awesome addition....it just costs too much.
