  1. Oh it will definately stay 3 rounds even if we ended up at 60 folks. One we get to those sorts of numbers we (as a community) are going to have to go to 2 day events rather than craming more rounds into a single day
  2. Just under two months to go. Went to the venue last weekend and its very nice indeed. Its going to be a lot of fun
  3. Time to put the pimping thread up for Spring Showdown II. This is a 3 round 50ss GG2017 based event with a relaxed atmosphere and a little bit of banter thrown in. Plenty of prizes and swag plus a few good games with a nice bunch of folks. Held at Wayland tickets are only £10. Venue opens at 10, first game 10.30 and we are normally on our way home by 6. Strats and schemes will be given out on the day. Painted crews are not required though there is a prize for best painted. This time its best painted triad of Henchman, Enforcer and a Minion Pick up a ticket from http://www.daffcon.info/store/p63/Spring_Showdown_III_-_7th_May_2017.html Participants Ben Harris Nick Featherstone Peter Shepard Joel Henry Tom ??? 4. Change of plans means that Mike Marshall and his ++ aren't going to be coming to this now. Feel free to just let others use our tickets
  5. Got the dates wrong, thought this was a Sunday and couldn't go because of the mothers day pass. Obtained said mothers day pass and then discovered that I had just messed up the dates. Will decide today which one I am actually going to go to
  6. It will be a two day event for sure
  7. Same simple answer, No they are not friendly
  8. Simple answer No they are not friendly
  9. 5 tickets sold for this, really only need 1 more and then we are all sorted in a round robin sort of way. My expectation is we will get to 8 or 9 though i would love 12
  10. We did auctions at 4M - my Rasputina Crew for example and made a boatload of money for charity. At the charity event that Kai was involved with it had donation boxes on the tables and you could put a £1 in for 3 +ve flips. This was also very popular. Sure it would take away ranking status but does that really matter?

  15. Realised i forgot to add in the spend on name badges / lanyards. May have made a loss then. Don't tell Mrs Marshall will you
  16. Transparency seems good so UK Nationals 120 tickets sold at 40 so £4800 (other 8 were freebies, promotions etc.) Venue and Food is £10 a day so £2560 Poker Chips £646 Fate deck £908 Trophies £450 (including oar and fedex bill for the Wyrd prize support) Printer, printing etc - £75 Total spend £4639 Remainder was spent on travel (getting Aaron from airport etc.) Use my own money for my hotel room, food etc.

    UK Event pricing

XPosted this from Facebook as I appreciate not everyone does gaming on FB or even has it - lots of teachers play games and FB can be a right PITA for them. Anyway Event pricing. What's a fair price to be charging for a one dayer? I have been doing £10 (no food etc.) but recently I have noticed prices creeping up to £15 which may or may not include food. Now higher prices mean more schwag I guess as I'm pretty sure none of us are in this to actually make money - do all TOs declare the income to HMRC? - but how much schwag can there be. Yesterday I had 1,2,3 and 2 painting prizes in big glass trophies. Best in Faction acrylic trophies, 50mm counter for all along with a Gremlin Poster and the contents of a 32 player Wyrd prize kit. What more could I add? More painting prizes? Terrain giveaways? Would appreciate some feedback
  18. Up to 40 players now, last year we had 18!
  19. Up to 33 35 players now, not bad at all, better sort some strats and schemes out. If you know someone who wants to come along get them to buy ASAP as will be taking the tickets off sale in the next few days
