  1. This is the same weekend as Smogcon so I won't be there sadly ?
  2. He's not worth it. MikeS FYI club end time is 18:00.
  3. Mike u already have a blister on your foot. It's on a Sunday again and clashes with the club day
  4. I had a great time irriespective of my results. Had 5 great games against all new opponents. Got experience of new stuff that I had never faced before and was in awe of Jo coping with all of us despite her now being a mum and all that goes with that. So thanks to all my opponents and to any one who came up and chatted or who I spent time with. Thanks to all players who attended especially those who came from overseas - thats the Belgians - looks like you lot enjoyed yourselves way too much and took at least half the best in faction awards to boot as well. Thanks most of all to Jo (and James who helped out and answered 3 of my rule queries admirably) Gratz to Ho Ten Thunders and Craig Johnson for winning the event - ukrocky yoh!!
  5. Thanks Mike. We managed to play two multiplayer scenarios. Really had a great time. 4 of us played the Trick or Treat Encounter. Three of us ended up with 9 Treats and Mike sadly only ended up with 1! Mmmmmmm yummy.
  6. Ugh. This clashes with Tanelorn's Sunday club meet which is an extended day. Do I support my club or do I come down and play Malifaux?
  7. Panic over, one of my club colleagues, Mark Wood is coming up to the event too and I will be sharing with him. Aiden your carriage awaits.
  8. I dont care about rankings. Its nice but its not why I game. More importantly is there any one who has a bed to share or room to share please? Also Jo - I dont see a Jack Daniels on the entrants list - is he a newbie?
  9. Is anyone looking to share accommodation with a young, nubile, athletic Malifaux player. The sort of player who never snores when he has had an alcoholic drink? BTW - we need to boycott the event to make it a ranked event. Who's with me on this? Why are you throwing rotten pants at me now? Ouch that hurt! Stop it.
  10. Hey Jo, one of my club mates is wanting to come to this but has asked me about where he can find info on the rules. I havent told him how serious the event is as yet. Can you give me an idea of what he can expect SS wise no of games painting requirements just roughly so I can give him some idea. I could just blag it like I normally do ......
  11. Oh the excitment ....... its too much for me ..... need to change my pants again. ---------- Post added at 11:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:31 PM ---------- NO I'll be the fat bloke in a pink tshirt!!
  12. So how much does your master cost? ---------- Post added at 05:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:03 PM ---------- I am aiming for the following first at this event:- - first old person to attend the GT - first asian dude at the event - first to go to the toilet - first to dribble ---------- Post added at 05:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:09 PM ---------- Dwarf tossing is always fun! ---------- Post added at 05:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:12 PM ---------- May have to buy a ginger syrup to be eligible for this. Or I could colour my bald head with orange crayon - will that count?
  13. Was just wondering as I dont have a completely painted crew and I am coming over from the UK, what is the chances of having some casual games as I cant enter any of the official Wyrd events then. Thanks
  14. Just so you are aware, Smogcon is being held in 16/17 at Firestorm games.
  15. Are we going to get any pics from the event or is Aidan being too lazy ;-)
  16. As already stated, resin will demolish the polystyrene and if you dont know that you are left in situation of not knowing what to do at a moment's notice. I discovered this when I was making some Necromunda scenery many, many years ago. The 2nd version there was a lot of wood involved! Resin also stinks to high heaven. Be careful of fume induced headaches. It also takes ages to set.
  17. We placed third with a tank brush and the oldest, crappiest no 2 brush Mike could find! Mike always shouts at me - it makes me cry lots. ---------- Post added at 11:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:07 PM ---------- Believe me James, I remember your stuff from the doubles too and i liked it then. Plaguerism is the highest form of flattery is all I can say ;-)
  18. Please post shennigans - cant wait to see what that actually is. What flavour biscuits?
  19. Great weekend!! Mike cajoled me into coming to this and the main reason I couldnt come was because I m committed to the H/WM ETC event. Two weekenders in a month not good for family life or my pocket especially with Gencon just around the corner too! I really really wanted to come so I need to thank OldManMyke for persisting but also being understanding. Yet again I come away from a UK Malifaux event with two constants 1. I love playing Malifaux. 2. The UK Malifaux community is ace cakes AND immensely knowledgeable and helpful and that comes from players with varying levels of playing skills and Dom .... and Aidan's mum .... The players make me smile and laugh so much too and there is a real feeling of "brotherhood" there (and sisterhood too!). The A team tune being sung by all the crowd as Harrowgate A team went up to get the 1st place prize was hilarious only coupled with Dom Dom deDom Dom deDom (to the tune of the Imperial March from Star Wars) when Dom went up with his fellow team members for their prize - priceless community moments. I was so happy to win my first ever Malifaux game against Andrea who taught me how the push from the dead rider and Nico works. I was so pleased to actually be scoring VPs in 6 out of 7 games. I was so pleased to meet JonM our 3rd Malifools team member who we adopted as our son (his idea not ours) for the weekend and for the record Mike was mummy and I was THE DADDY! Winning the team painting trophy which I honestly thought we would not win this time as James' stuff is REAL nice (Harrogate B?) was the icing - no wait winning the wooden spoon (which will be used for icing) was the icing! Great to meet Ian and Spike and Adam as well as catch up with some of the people we met at the doubles and have known from other game systems (yes thats you the Welsh lot!) Finally HUGE thanks and hugs to Jo for putting up with us and running the event despite purse loss, raffle ticket and score sheet loss, being pregnant and putting up with a room full of incompetent gamers! PS - Mike found the score sheet and cards in the boot of his car when he arrived back home in Norfolk - we both p*ssed ourselves laughing! Heres hoping I can make it to the GT.
  20. Correction - Gonsalves is trying to use Nico!! ---------- Post added at 07:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:32 PM ---------- Lets do 8!!! I dont mind losing 8 games!!
