Von Schill is a shout out to Ferdinand Baptista von Schill who was a Prussian officer that revolted unsuccessfully against French domination. His forces were called the Freikorps. Kinda clear cut there EDIT Also kinda obvious but we forgot to mention Seamus, the Mad Hatter who is a mix of Jack the Ripper and the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. The Masters pretty much have some relationship to some motif or another.

As far as my experience with him goes, he loves a variety of models in his crew. I like that Seamus is not hurt by crew building decisions unlike the other Resser masters. Maybe McMourning, but I don't play him regularly enough.

Thanks for Tourney, I really love the Book I got and the games where a lot of fun. It was funny that the only non-vet player I played against was at the last round *grin* When is the next one!?

I kind of have to agree here, the Swarm is good with Leve but with the Viks he kinda falls short. I understand that you want to have Lazarus taking abilities from him and all but it's just not worth it in the long run. Unless of course you just want to give it a go.

Wholeheartedly agree with this statement. Crooked men Df against Ranged attacks is amazing, and if he goes pig Heavy you always have your Bury Trigger.

This comment almost made me believe that you don't actually play the game. That you read the cards and prepare theories based on your guesses.... Any model that has a Cb 5/4 is considered decent at attacking, simply because they match the defense of most other models. They are not considered accurate for the base fact that they do not grant you a bonus and they require more luck than planning since you have to match Card to Card.

Naysayer! Long live the Freikorps! Besides with 2 Librarians he should be able to stick around for a while. So they will mostly be focusing on getting objectives and holding off the opposition. Rather than the usual "kill the opposition so that they don't get VP's" approach that we mostly take. I still like the theme of it.

I have to say that we probably play Seamus the same way. I find that if I don't play him with at least 6 SS, he usually doesn't take part in much of the game for fear of retribution. Also I find that Seamus can play a very varied crew with mixes of Spirits and Undead without changing his play style too much.

Actually I just got here, I used to play at Huzzah Hobbies in Virginia. The guys there are seriously wicked. The guys here are great, but I still haven't had the chance to check out their Tournament Scene

Funny you say that, because I don't think Luck plays too much in Malifaux. The card mechanic allows us to have some planning and control of our actions. When we have a bad hand thats bad luck, but even then we are getting a warning about it. With Gremlins I notice that luck swings them wildly into the negative spectrum. I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I don't know your meta and you don't know mind, so maybe our experiences are wildly different.

I see what you did there. If what you say is true, how come you never see Gremlins close to the top in tourneys? I keep noticing the word "finesse" used as an all include whenever a crew doesn't win effectively. In reality Masters can have finesse AND still be a strong force. Examples of these are Pandora, Collette, Dreamer and Viks. These are truly finesse masters that have been at the top consistently. I have won with Gremlins, but I had to do things that took more luck than skill to get them to work. Or to do combos that have been errata'd since. The really strong spells require you to sacrifice a lot of wounds, a high card and/or stones and be dangerously close to the enemy. As you already know his summoning requires an 11 and on top of that you need a specific model for it to work. You have a shorter hand so you really rely on luck to pull those high cards. I would continue, but I figure that I have ranted enough and this is not a Somer power level Discussion per se.

./facepalm As an Outcast player, I sometimes feel that he should be Cache 8. Seriously, him and his crew end up being too easy to kill and usually can't grab objectives because of this. Because the Sword Style spell of Lady J never gives more than 3 Cb right. Hell Inspiring Swordplay doesn't add to that either.

The spell's targeting restriction are "target model with 2 wounds or less" after that is the effects based on what the target is in order to summon a model. So in this case he just Sacrifices the target model and Levi takes 3 wounds.

Niño is 7 points that can easily become a Cb 9 and (IMHO) is a better Hans. Just alone, giving Hans Cb 7 would put him on even ground with Niño and Hans is 8/9 points! I don't think that would make him an auto include, just a "maybe".

Hmm, I had seen a lot of posts asking for that. Was just curious as to how many felt so strongly about her.

Would many of you consider a cost reduction a good enough buff?
