I got the dreamer as my first set only played one game with him so far but enjoyed it. Quite a lot to get your head around with him but Karn wrote a nice tactica that can be found on the forums.

There are a lot of experienced people who will be able to help, do you have an idea of that style you would like your crew to play?

Have you read the japanese style Sandman one Ratty? Dream Hunters i think it was called, not read that yet.

Death had a few graphic novels of her own which I haven't read. Do agree that Sandman is a great series. There is also Fables.

In the women in malifaux thread there is talk of how the inspiration for some of the characters influences the appearance. I also really like to read more background on the inspriation of characters to see how the game character is changed from the inspiration so I thought I would start a thread listing the inspiration for the characters in the game. Off the top of my head these are the ones I can think of. Lilith - Lilith for mesopotamian mythology Zoraida - Baba Yaga Pandora - Pandora (all three are also inspired by the kindly ones, fates from what I can see) Hamelin - Piper of Hamelin Coppelius - ETA Hoffman's the sandman (great link with Hoffman's unexplained connection rule) Anyone else able to suggest others?

My wife has no issue at all with the portrayal of the females in Malifaux, she was looking at the website when I was trying to pick my first crew and loved all the models, especially Colette, Viktoria, Miranda. She then read the book when it arrived to get a better understanding of the background and I am now under instructions to buy Colette and the showgirls as she really wants to paint them and play with them. When I was telling her about some of the comments on this thread even she commented on how the models are supported by the fluff and that yes they probably are going to be a bit sexy but what do you expect when miniatures games are played by 70% men? The easiest thing? Play with the models you want, if things offend you find a group of like minded people and start your own group with your own code of conduct.

When these switch over does the replaced model receive slow?

It seems that the Dreamer definitely needs the daydreams to work best. I have my first game properly on sunday and will let you know anything I learn as a fellow neverborn-newborn
