  1. Some lovely mice there, I love the one that's hugging the little teddy. James.
  2. One could say that we already show our gratitude, we keep buying. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with a bit of fanboi'ism here and there, it's just we don't all partake. It's not that we don't love the hobby, we do. It's a very British thing for me, we can't all just go around saying how much we love each other all day. James.
  3. So essentially we'd all get the 5 basic ones, then our faction specific one? I don't see a problem with it at all. It would force us to adapt to schemes that we maybe wouldn't have chosen, which would just add to the challenge! From a personal point of view, I'm more than happy to do this as I know a few people have had problems getting hold of the new book over here. I'll just be happy to get three games of Malifaux packed into one day, so no problems here at all! James.
  4. I'm going with Hoffman. He has enough to make him interesting and is going to be new and shiney, as are his tactics. After listening to your Zoraida interview on the Aethervox (you did a great job on that by the way, even though I don't play her, I found it very interesting) I just don't see any of the crews like Justice holding your interest for long. You went into such depth about the tricks you had worked out for Z, and I got the impression this is part of what makes the game great for you. "Welcome to the Aethervox, here's Rathnard again, he has some advice today about LJ who he started playing recently: (A sad and dejected Rathnard voice fills the airwaves) Well, what you do is, you walk up and hit stuff " So I'm personally voting for Hoffmann, because I have an interest in him and would like to see you do a tactica on him, but as long as you promise not to take a straight forward crew I'll be happy with any choice you make James.
  5. Nice video mate. Video quality is great, and you have a good clear voice that carries well. Enjoyed it a lot and I'll certainly watch more. However I have to ask, is that a glass of wine on the table next to you old chap? James.
  6. Yeah thank god, you might finally learn to play! James.
  7. Ah no, I'm a Northumbrian through and through, I just went to the trouble of googling it to make that extra special touch James.
  8. My goodness, woolworths is still open over there? Is it the same woolworths we lost not long ago? I miss woolies As for the rest, I didn't know Australia was like that at all. For all your easy going lifestyles and wonderous golden locks, bouncing in the wind as you catch that next wave, there is an undertone of bribery, price fixing and prime minister buying! Epic! It could make a good mini game that: "In the seedy underworld of Oz, crime and corruption are ripe. Sinister plots and twists abound as you attempt to bring down the system, a system ruthlessly controlled by beer manufacturers and bought politicians. Do you have what it takes to surf or die?" Seriously now though, this is really interesting stuff! I never realised Oz worked so differently. I've always had a soft spot for Australians too, they use a lot of words that are similar to words used in the dialect of my part of England. James.
  9. On the Lilith thing. I happened to end up reading some stuff the other day that kind of made that fit. I was reading about the Triple Goddess (don't worry I'm not some kind of crazy person that thinks they're a witch or something, it jut came up in some research for some stuff I wanted to do with Malifaux). Now the theory is, that the triple goddess who has links to earth and everything, has three aspects. The maiden, mother and crone: The Maiden represents enchantment, inception, expansion, the promise of new beginnings. The mother represents fertility, sexuality, fulfillment, stability and power. The crone represents wisdom, repose, death, and endings. Pretty clear the classic Stages of a womans life were used for Dora/Lilith/Zoraida. And as classically the Mother (Lilith) has the most power, being at her peak, it makes sense that Lilith would be the earth mother. In a lot of the fluff I think all three of them come over as being very caring over what happens to Malifaux and the land. Fair enough they kill humans and so on, but humans to them are just a blight on the land, a blight they are more than happy to get rid of. A farmer would use pesticides to kill off bugs on his plants, to the neverborn the human race is nothing more than a bunch of insects invading and polluting their home. James.
  10. Thanks, don't mind if I do, I am rather thirsty James.
  11. QFT. Even if people don't like his music, it's impossible to argue he doesn't have a lot of talent. If I could play even half the instruments he can (actually if I could only play one!) I'd be happy! James.
  12. It seems I know them both very well! James.
  13. Look forward to meeting you at leeds then! I might even lend you a tab how! James.
  14. It stands for "'Council House And Violent". Devvo the chav on youtube will explain it all mate, but I won't link it here because of swearing My own embarrassing thing: Phil Collins is my favourite musician and has been since around the mid 80s. James.
  15. Absolutely fantastic! You have a style that is very much your own, I can't quite put my finger on exactly what it is, but I love it! Brilliant stuff! James.
  16. At our club we've just been playing rules manual trumps all. You have to remember that the rules marshalls were making ruling based on the past edition of the rules, making the best of what they had, so to speak. With the advent of the rules manual, they had a chance to clean the whole thing up and therefore override old rules, and rulings I would imagine. Kind of like if you had a car and the exaust was falling off, you might tie it on with a bit of string, but if you then bought a new car you wouldn't need the string anymore, because you'd more than fixed any problems you had with the old car by getting a new one. That's the way I see the new rules manual (and I might be seeing it totally wrong). The marshalls had given us enough fixes to use the old rules whilst they were in place, but now they've given us the new manual, which means we don't need any of the old fixes James.
  17. Oh the horror of pinning something to a base after you've painted it, I really must start to do that the other way around... James.
  18. Brilliant stuff mate, love the idea for the paint job! James.
  19. Ah right cool, I'll leave the gremlins at home then James.
  20. Hello there! For the smilies: Click User CP on the left of the page Click Edit Avatar Click on the smiley face icon above where you can type. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the smilies and click "show all smilies" and they're in there James.
  21. Nice! Good to see these starting to make their way onto peoples blogs, you've done a great job mate. He'd make a great master for a tourny or something. You planning on running him in any? /innocence. James.
  22. I just envisioned a full welsh miners choir singing that.... Hey Tom, I pretty much started with rogue trooper/2nd ed 40k and had something like a ten year break too! Come a long way since then, and this game is fantastic as a game for you to be getting back into too! The models are amazing to paint, and it sounds like you've gone for some of the nicest paints out there. Start with something that just appeals to you, just look at the boxes and something will slap you accross the face and speak to you. Hopefully not literally I picked my first crew (Pandora) before reading the rules, or even visiting here, something just appealed with her and the rest of her models. Looking forward to seeing your painted stuff mate, good luck! James.
