  1. I had my first game with Dreamer. It was completely different to "point and shoot" my Ophelia crew does, but I like it. Some changes need to be made in the list and knowing how small amount of time I can spare for modelling and painting - I'm droping Gremlin Dreamer idea. If anybody fancies it - feel free to pick it up. I just won't be able to finish it in any reasonable time.
  2. I'll be taking my time, as I have some RL stuff to attend, but you can expect LCB & Coppelius soon (like a week or two )
  3. @Dumb Luck - Cool gator. I was thinking about doing something like that, but decided to keep LCB so the crew has at least 1 original model. @Mindwarp - Cheers, I've read that. It helped me understand how Nix (player, not-model) did kill Nekima with LCB on turn 1 in his battle rapport. It all comes down to me just playing the game and trying it. If I only had more time to visit my club.
  4. @Dumb Luck - it there a way you could post pic of that? I'll consider Teddy when I have some ideas how to make it. So I guess Dreamer plays a bit like that: 1. Prime your nightmares, everyone gets Defensive Stance and some ongoing effects like Smell Fear or Psychopathic Episode. Look what enemy crew is doing. Unbury LCB, defensive stance, bury LCB. 2. Bury everything except for 2 Daydreams. Advance to create 2 vectors of assault. 3. Turn 2 move Daydream, unbury LCB, bury LCB, activate Dreamer, fly 7", unbury all with trigger, activate LCB, eat face. Try to summon Daydream. Let enemy activate. 4. Activate Lelu, Lilitu, Lelu, eat more face. Let enemy activate for 2nd time. 5. Activate 2nd Daydream bury all. Let enemy activate for 3rd time. 6. Unbury LCB with 3rd Daydream, bury him to bring the Dreamer back. Repeat next turn. There can be changes due to scenario/deployment. Good guess?
  5. I will take some photos when I'm done for sure. I can visualize all those models, problem is I don't know if my GS skills are high enough. Coppelius will get into that crew too as a original model. He is unique after all. For now my ideas (and full list in fact) are: 35ss crew: Dreamer & LCB [bayou Lad & Lager Creating Bro] (*8ss) * Daydream [bogdream] (2ss) * Daydream [bogdream] (2ss) * Daydream [bogdream] (2ss) Stitched Together [Oogie Boogie] (5ss) Lelu [Lil'u] (7ss) Lelu [Lil'u] (7ss) Lilitu [Lil'too] (7ss) Additional 20ss pool: Stitched Together [Oogie Boogie] (5ss) Coppelius (9ss) Insidious Madness [Wyrd Al''vich] (4ss) Bayou Lad - Gremlin in white (but soiled) PJ's. Lager Creating Bro - LCB, tray full of cups with lager in one hand Bogdream 1 - piglet humping other piglet Bogdream 2 - mushroom field being found by piglet Bogdream 3 - boomstick aiming at small teddy (the one from Baby Kade) Oogie Boogies - Stitched Together with gremlin limbs coming out of them. Lil'u - 2 gremlins piggyback, fake horns, fake claws, red paint on faces (braveheart style), bdsm collars Lil'too - gremlinette on top of gremlin with fishing pole, blue paint on faces (braveheart style) Wyrd Al''vich - gremlin in mental institute harness trying to run away from tentacles
  6. Hello guys, I'm not a regular Malifaux player, but have some Malifaux experience (and lots of non-Malifaux exp too) and led my Ophelia crew to couple of victories. I really like Dreamer play style but didn't field him yet. I wanted your opinion on list I'm looking at as I aim to convert all models and wouldn't like to spend time on models I'll never use. Couple of things to consider - I don't like Alps. Models are ugly and whole idea of Alp bomb doesn't really appeal to me. I also don't want to paint another crew with 15+ models in it. Every model (except for LCB) will get a gremlin twist as I love green boys and idea of LCB "invading" little gremlin dreams is hilarious. So the list is: Green Dreamer & Lord Chompy Bits (*8ss) * Daydream (2ss) * Daydream (2ss) * Daydream (2ss) Stitched Together (5ss) Stitched Together (5ss) Lelu (7ss) Lelu (7ss) Lilitu (7ss) Lelu & Lilitu (or rather Lil'u & Lil'too) will consist of 2 gremlins on one base (probably piggyback style and female Hog Whisperer as Lilitu), Stitched will have added gremlin hands/heads coming from inside and Daydreams will be what every gremlin would dream of - mushrooms, rug to sleep on and big gun. Question is - is that list competitive enough for tournaments?
  7. You will need Slop Hauler or two. Save your money and wait patiently for January when they are out. Three Young ones are going to be a nice addition too. So that gives you 30ss with no cache. I'd personally drop Francois, one Hauler and take 4 Bayou boys and 1ss cache. Or play 35ss games, drop Francois and take 3-4 Bayou boys spending rest for cache. I'm not loving high cache as Ophelia never seems to use it all. 1-3 is enough IMHO.
  8. On paper she looks superior to Som'er (never played with him though). She can do serious damage herself and all the bonuses she gives to Kin are just amazing. Raphael, Rami and Pere with auto Dumb Luck have to be one of the most nasty models I've seen. I only had five Malifaux games so far and I'm sure I didn't see a lot of stuff yet, but those are pretty b@d@@s gremlins. Don't give up on Ophelia!
  9. Last weekend my local club ran 30ss Malifaux tournament. 2 lists, one master. I didn't have much gaming time with my gremlins but gave it a try... And it came up, a good one. There will be no fluff stuff in report as I'm to rubbish to write a good story. I went with full LaCroix crew complimented by 7 Bayou boys giving me 12 models and 1 ss of cache for fully painted crew. There may be some terminology problems but I'll try to explain what I mean. Onward then: 1 game against Ramos, Cassandra, Corphiee, Arachnid Swarm and small arachnid that got sacrificed when Ramos died. My strategy was Claim Jump with announced Breaktrough and Hold out shemes. Ramos played Slaughter with announced Bodyguard and 2ss bonus. First turn saw me trying to get rid of Corphiee using 2 gremlins and Rami (failed on this one). Beginning of turn 2 Cassandra's breath fire put down same Rami and 2 bayou boys. Turn 2 Francois with another 2 bayou boys tried to shoot down Arachnid Swarm standing to close to my Claim Jump objective, but failed and Francois got killed instead by combined forces of Ramos and said swarm. Raphael tried to shoot Ramos late in turn 2, but didn't do enough damage. I won initiative and beginning of turn 3 resulted in dead Ramos, gunned down by Raphael with Dumb luck from Ophelia. I managed to kill Corphee and left Cassandra on a last wound. Cassandra and Swarm went trough my gremlins killing Pere, Raphael, Ophelia, 2 gremlins and left only one alive. We started to hurry a bit as time was running out and ended at turn 4 after my failed attempt to kill Cassandra off. He had swarm half way trough wounds and Cassandra on a last one, I was left with 1 Bayou Gremlin. Ramos crew: 4vp Slaughter minus 1vp for failed Bodyguard LaCroix: 2vp for Hold Out Result: 3-2 Second game was against Sonia Crid, Nino, Santiago, 3 Witchling Stalkers and 2 Guild guards. My strategy was Treasure Hunt with announced Eye for an eye and Thwart shemes. Sonia played Claim Jump with announced Bodyguard and Assassination. There is not much to say except I got really lucky with my hand and turn 2 Pere did 8 damage in a big circle around him killing all Witchlings, Santiago and putting five wounds on Sonia and one of the Guards. Rami then gunned down Nino and Sonia killing himself in the process. Rest of the game was to finish off 2 remaining Guards. There was no Guild models on the table by the end of turn 3. Result: 6-0 Third game was again against Sonia Crid, Nino, Santiago, Francisco and Peacekeeper. My strategy was Destroy the Evidence with announced xxx(the one you need to kill most expensive enemy model) and Stake a Claim shemes. Sonia played Claim Jump with announced Stake a Claim and Bodyguard (AFAIK) This is another game turn 2 saw Pere did five damage in a big circle around him wounding Santiago and Francisco. Bayou guys finished them off next turn. Rami gunned down Nino. On my right flank 2 Bayou gremlins pooed themselves when they say Peacekeeper advancing towards them. Ophelia put Dumb Luck on Raphael and he moved in gunning Peacekeeper down. Strike flip: 13, damage flip: Red Joker, and a 3. 1st turn, 14dmg headshoot (minus 2 armour)! I actually felt bad after doing it. Sonia was gunned text turn leaving table to Bayou forces. Result: 8-0 I came up 2nd in the tournie. 1st place was taken by Showgirls and 3rd by Lady Justice. It was an awesome tournament with loads of awesome people and painted minis. I was bit surprised by tabling 2 opponents, but I believe this is due to good hands and some astonishinig flips (Peacekeeper). Conclussion: Pere is so good, Raphael and Rami too. Francois is kinda meh, and I'll replace it with Slop hauler for sure. Also young LaCroix instead of gremlins will help as they have Companion(kin). All in all crew worked good and was awesome at dmg dealing, not that much in surviving games. Advice for people playing against LaCriox: Kill Pere! always try to kill him first or position yourself so he can't explode efficiently. PS. I believe Pere can use Oopsie! twice a turn to kill himself dealing 10dmg around. It didn't happen on the tournament (not enough AP), but it looks like he can create 12" deadzone around him, right?
  10. So we've got a tournament last weekend at my local club and I'm most pleased with how my gremlin did. We had 16 players I was the only gremlin player. There was no Perditas, nor Pandoras and only one Lilith! Gremlins of the tournament were Raphael (gunned down Ramos in first game and did 14dmg headshoot on Peacekeeper 3rd game killing it outright), Rami (gunned down Sonia Crid in 3rd game) and Pere Ravage (blew himself up in games 2 and 3 killing a lot of models). In the end this trio supported by Ophelia won me 2nd and 3rd game tabling the opponents and set me on the second place. I'll post tournament report soon for you to see (I even have some photos!). Go gremlins!
  11. It is Rst:Df, rulebook has a typo, the card is correct though. Too good to be true.
  12. Thanks for all warm words guys. It makes me very happy people enjoy my work. Not the level of painting, but some ideas I had and how I did it may actually inspire somebody. I'm bit of a lazy b'tard so I didn't take separate pics of every gremlin in the crew. I'm giving you one more family photo and solo pics of my favorite. Sorry for the quality, I'm still trying to tame my camera.
  13. I loved them as soon as I saw them dry. And I knew that's got to stay. I just wasn't able to repeat the same stuff for the rest of the crew so they look bit different. Still I'm most happy with the result.
  14. If you ask how I did the main LaCrox then I can't tell. They were done really bright and when I varnished them I did something wrong (not shaking enough I guess) and they all went frosty white. I was nearly crying. To rescue situation I gave them liberal, heavy devlan mud wash. Twice I think. Pere and regular Gremlins are just Devlan muded twice on top of normal colours. I'm no artist and this is just tabletop painting. I really wanted to have them ready for next week tournament. PS. This is exactly how they look. I just adjusted brightnes a bit in Photoshop, but only for the true colours. I'm happy you like it.
  15. Hi guys, I've been reding Malifaux forums for some time and finally decied to register and truly join community. I've been playing loads of different wargames, but now I only stick to Warmahordes, and now Malifaux. There are few reasons I got into Malifaux. Not too many models needed (I'm not that much hooked up on painting), great story that reminds me of Deadlands and lack of dice (I seem to have more luck in cards than dice). Some sculpts are awesome and some not so much (IMHO only OFC), but everybody will find something for themselves. It all started in my LGC in London when I saw few mates playing Malifaux next to my table. There was something about the dead hookers that pulled me in (also the game was much like Mordheim I love). I checked Wyrd online store and found minis that were spot on: LaCroix. I've been also considering Ortegas, but quick search on the forum and I confirmed what I expected: very strong crew, that is so similiar to WM/H and I wanted something lighter with more 'fun'. La Croix then. I didn't have much playing time with Malifaux so far (2 games), but I love how simple base rules work with complicated combos you can do using right models. I see lots of uncler stuff in rules, but considering the way I treat Malifaux (friendly game with more story, instead balls'to'the'wall WM/H game) it doesn't bother me at all. So to finish this bit to long prologue I wanted to say hello to everybody and share my recently finished crew. Now I wait for Slop Haulers and Young LaCroix. LaCroix part of the crew: And the rest, finished yesteday. Gremlin rocker is my definite favourite, he has GuitarHero like banjo and Les Paul banjo on the rack behind him. I even managed to imprint word RAWK on the back guitar. I will try to make bigger photo session during weekend to show single Gremlins separately.
