  1. Tbh, I feel that raptors are worth taking in ANY crew. That feeling you get when they actually DO something makes it completely worth it. Similar to when a Watcher wounds something, or even when a Watcher flips a RJ on the damage flip @Sandwich: While I AM down in Tacoma as I write this, I'm not usually down during the daytime on Saturdays. Any afternoons/evenings on weekdays, perhaps? I'm slowly moving all my stuff down here every week, but I won't be permanently living down here until late June/July.
  2. Now, now, be nice. That said, I'll agree that Raptors DO go well with Lucius. I haven't had much experience with the Snowstorm though, though I'm looking to try it out soon. Sandwich, are there any particular days of the week or weekend that you'd be up for a game? How are Sundays for you?
  3. I've already got a few people interested who travel through or live on the outskirts of Tacoma/Puyallup. Do you happen to have emails of the guys who used to play in the area? I'm going to work up a couple ideas and see what people are interested in. I'm also a Henchman now (I think the only time we've played was right when I was starting). For what it's worth, I may be able to snag us some goodies post-GenCon when they start doing swag for events or story-based campaigns. ---------- Post added at 09:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:13 PM ---------- Also, what this means is that you're not allowed to quit Malifaux. Not yet, at least. I think we should play a few games and chat about what things were a problem. It's too bad we can't have alcohol at the Matrix. Alcohol solves everything. What helps with the guys in Bellingham is that we tend to keep our games focused more around having a good time and making sure our opponent has a good time. We tend to avoid using things that are overpowered, need a heavy amount of tweaking, or just are no fun with. For that reason, while a couple of us do own Hamelin crews, typically it's not something we bring to the table regularly. We do have some heavy summoning Resser lists, and two pretty beastly Lillith grow lists, but even then there are a lot of ways to mitigate that and get around it. You know what would help? A beard. And sir, I happen to have one.
  4. It's just unfortunate that Bellingham is soon losing their best (without any doubt whatsoever) Malifaux player (ever), and that he'll be living in Tacoma after that as well. That said, Sandwich, I noticed that Malifaux has really died out in that area. I have every intention of bringing it back and starting a campaign or league at some point during the summer. If you would ever like to play a couple games, just let me know and we can set something up. ---------- Post added at 08:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:18 PM ---------- I'm determined to prove you wrong (And no, it's not to prove that you DONT want a thriving Malifaux community!)

    Wyrd in PNW?

You're from Kitsap County? Whereabouts there? I grew up in Port Orchard, moved to Bellingham and live there now, but will be moving down to Tacoma next month. I'm in the area practically every week though, and could definitely get some games in with you sometime if you're interested. While I do have tickets to PAX, I'm unable to run any events or demos there. There is a pretty good chance that I'll be helping someone run demos and/or open gaming at SteamCon in Seattle this October, if things line up right.
  6. I was under the impression that Pull Strings worked by allowing the Marionette to move up to its Wk, followed by pushing Collodi into base to base. While the Marionette would be subject to any free strikes from leaving melee, Collodi would be safe (no free strikes against disengaging via push). Of course, I don't have the book next to me to double check this, but am I missing something?
  7. Snakes on a Plane and Army of Darkness
  8. Awesome! I'll go check that out now. Planning on getting a gym membership later this week. I used to have a pretty good set of weights, but I had to sell those off when I moved into a place with no garage/area to store everything. In hindsight I really wish I had hung on to them, but the gym I'm eyeing is within running distance from here, so I'm thinking I'll be able to kill two birds with one stone.
  9. I always try to avoid setting weight loss as a new years resolution, instead waiting a few weeks in to the year to set a personal goal instead I started on the 13th and weighed in at 256lbs, right now I'm around 246lbs. A large part of this was water weight and simply me reining in on my eating habits, and I already know that things are going to slow down quite a bit from now on. When I graduated from high school back in 2006 I weighed about 300lbs, and between graduating and my freshman year at university I managed to go down to 205lbs through (slightly) better eating and running. After that point, however, the weight slowly came back and I lost my good havits. Looking back, one mistake I made was not combining my cardio with any sort of weight training (even push ups). I just ran a lot and ate better, but my muscle-loss was a lot higher than if I had worked in a routine where I was working on both cardio and weight training. That's one part where I'm doing things a bit differently this time around. While running will still be the core, I'm breaking the runs up a bit by stopping after certain distances to work on weight training, pushups, pullups, etc. We'll see how that works out in the long run. I'll keep posting here, let's see how long we can stick to this
  10. No kidding. Ever since I started getting so much attention from your mom I've been going crazy. I'll post some more pictures in a couple days guys. My laptop has been in the shop and I need to dig out my camera.
  11. You're probably thinking of Trahern. The guys down at SWC are an absolute blast to play, and I try to make it down there as often as I can to get games in. Their main game night of the week is usually Friday, though I see games going on there whenever I stop by. A lot of them post on Ordofanaticus.com to organize games and events, as well as for other stuff around WA/OR/BC. I'd definitely suggest checking it out.
  12. Hey everyone, I'll be running a demo event at Avalon Comics & Games this Friday in Silverdale, Washington. Demos should be starting around 4pm, and there will be demos available for Infinity, Dystopian Wars, and Hell Dorado in addition to our favorite Malifaux awesomeness. If you're interested in checking out the game, drop me a PM and we'll work out some details! I'm also available for demos on other dates, which can be organized on a case by case basis. Thanks Ray
  13. Any chance we could get a picture of Lenny?
  14. Malifaux: I have everything, but there's definitely a focus on Som'er, Leveticus, and Lillith Hell Dorado: Saracens and The Lost Infinity: Ariadna and, soon, Haqqislam Dystopian Wars: FSA and Empire of the Blazing Son Warmachine: I have Cygnar and Trollbloods, but I haven't played a game yet.
  15. It took me a while to get used to it, but if you ever have the card and/or Nekima handy, it's really nice to launch them 20" in a single activation (15 from spell with card and Nekima, 5" move after) to grab an objective.
  16. Am I correct in assuming that triggers which add damage to the attack are also halved? Eg being a Young Nephilim triggering Flay, doing 4 damage + 2 damage on the flip. The Spirit would take 3 damage, not 4, correct?
  17. Heh, the player who HIRED Jack Daw is the player who chooses to discard a card or a soulstone, not the player who is currently in control of Jack Daw.
  18. Can Leveticus turn him into an SPA/Waif?
  19. Took a couple pictures but most didn't turn out well. Here are some of the slightly more decent shots. Right now I'm working on the skin, and I'll move on to other parts of the body later.
  20. Finally finished assembling Nekima. It was absolute hell. I chose not to use the base insert she came with, as it didn't match up with the bases I'll be using with Lillith. However, I'm unhappy with how stable she is currently, so I'll likely replace her base or pin it more extensively in the future.
  21. Do you have a particular process for priming your models? What primers do you prefer?
  22. Kris, I'll have JMGraham send you a PM. I also believe "fortythree" on these boards is now located in Seattle. He was another Henchman up here in Seattle and had to relocate due to his job. Alternatively, I plan on applying to the Henchman program soon and travel down the I-5 corridor often, so I might be able to help a bit as well. Depending on job opportunities, I may be moving down to Seattle fairly soon.
  23. I've also tried Jack Daw a few times with Lillith. He's pretty mobile and can stop cheating via severed ties, and since many of the nifty Nephilim have a high cb or paired, your models are probably going to come out on top.
  24. Lillith 2x Terror Tots - 6SS 2x Desperate Mercs 4SS Lilittu - 7SS Cherub 2SS Nekima 13SS +3 SS to Lillith's pool Bunch most of the models up near Nekima. Start with her, taking wounds to gain blood counter. Have Tots kill Desperate Mercs to gain blood counters, Nekima gains blood counters and heals. Could potentially kill one a turn if you get a good first heal flip with her. After they're dead you should have 5-6 blood tokens to play with. I usually have Lilittu turn the Cherub into Lelu, while raising one Tot into a Mature Nephilim and the other into a Young Nephilim. *Edit* 6 Blood Tokens if you have Nekima take wounds during the first two turns. You can use the Desperate Mercs, Lilittu, and her regeneration to mitigate the damage you take that early in the game.
  25. The Walpurgis GT in Bellingham was held over two days and had six rounds- four on Saturday, two on Sunday (this helped give time for people to clean up, set out prizes, raffle, and for the long-distance guys to drive home). It also had twenty players competing. The four rounds on Saturday worked out very well, and each game was set at a different SS level. IIRC, the first round was 25SS, second 30, third 45, and fourth 30ish. The time limits were made for each round based on the SS size. I don't have the player packet with me at the moment, but I'll post the schedule JMGraham used later tonight. For the most part we all had time to finish our games, with maybe one exception. Overall though, the GT turned out wonderful.
