  1. The wonderful thing about McM is that he can do both...he can be hit and run as well as just plow into the enemy. You can use puppies and necropunks for quick hits or Frankies, Sebs, and the good doctor himself to waste everything.
  2. I just like ruffling feathers sometimes. I think Wyrd has done an amazing job. My only criticism is that it seems, well bluntly put...they dont have their $#!t together. The rulebooks are...crazy haha The first one had a lot of errors in it, they had to make an errata Then an errata for that one, then the second book came out The second one was less screwy with the terms and such but the rulings were crazy, the best way to get an answer is to come onto this forum and ask. Hamelin was just the...beacon, I guess...with his Rule of Equivalency challenge as well as the "Who takes Priority" on abilities. Now they have the baby rule book which didn't do very much. The diagrams are nice but most of it was already stated if you understood the second book. On top of all this, they are working on Puppet Wars, and not only that, but a third rule book. With no clarifications on much of the things I have previously stated. It just seems like they should focus on one thing at a time. Lastly, when we've had a problem (being the players at our LGS) we ask our question on here to hopefully get a response from Eric, Nathan, or any of the Rules Marshals. We get told that they're busy...I can understand that, running a company can be a pain...but some of us see them frequently "shooting the breeze" in the General channel posting silly things with no relevance at all. This is just a collected opinion, I don't expect much and so far...they're doing pretty good.
  3. How about the one where you had to share only one shoe between 6 brothers? =P Welcome all newbies!! I don't mean it in a bad way hehe We all have to start somewhere! If you need help, there are tons of people here who can do that and most of them have responded already. I am Mr. States-the-Obvious-a-lot So....yeah, if you need assistance just message me...or them =P
  4. Well the Belles and Crooked Men work very well together since they changed the rule on Shafted markers. I've also heard people using the Datsue-Ba with McM. I've tried it and it didn't work well for me...you may have more luck. Slicing people up is a lot of fun. For just nabbing objectives...I would use dogs or Necropunks. Jumping is nice but you need a midrange Mask to do it but dogs are fast but only significant in packs, you do have Sebs though.
  5. Oh yeah...you mean like...hmm :hamelin Just like to do that sometimes, I'm a real bastard. Not like those fake ones on TV. But honestly, I agree...out of all of the miniature games I have played and witnessed, Malifaux seems to be shrugging of the symptoms of Codex creep quite well. We have a very competitive plethora of players and they are all very good at their respective masters. I guess my point is that most of the masters are very balanced and have ways to best each other where nobody has an overwhelming advantage above the others. I do thank the playtesters and wonder who they are...I do have to give kudos to Wyrd though. As for the Horrors...well I hope they make Molly more worthwhile.
  6. I watched a game yesterday where it was Lady J's crew versus LCB and he had the Scales of Justice focus strike LCB and red jokered him to death.
  7. That's cool Yeah, Aaron is going to be there on Sunday...but today is just our Malifaux day for this week
  8. Pretty much this. He has so much variety, he can summon anything he really needs. Control...belles Ranged...Crooked Men A MFT of pain...Punk Zombies Backed with Morty for extra counters, well you just can't go wrong.
  9. Yeah, Jeff was talking about doing something on Friday...as in tomorrow the 15th Since Thursday wasn't too good for us this week.
  10. I hope so too, it seems unlikely I will be able to attend, but next year is another matter =]
  11. Is there still room in the tourney? I figure it's a bit late to ask =P
  12. One size fits most... how about People named after food?
  13. I like the idea =] The Smart-Arse award Crowd Favorite Most Helpful <Faction> Player Stuff like that?
  14. Undead Hookers...what other reason do you need? Samurai Punk rockers, Frankenstein, and just look at Sebastian's face? How can you say no to that? You'll get to see what's under Nico's coat.
  15. What they linked as well as it is usually on the side on the main page as you visit this site. As for Seamus, you really shouldn't need to go outside his style. Just him, Sybelle, his totem, and then just fill in the gaps with Rotten Belles. You don't need anything more than that. His crew centers around them and they are pretty fast when they're with him and they are very tanky...so they are good for anything, really.
  16. McMourning is pretty fun too. If you have plenty of puppies and Sebastian swinging his saw...you can't go wrong =P It is rather fun to go up to something tough with McM and drop a Flesh Construct or Rogue Necromancy and then just slice them to pieces.
  17. What we've been doing is painting the bases the faction color. That's the only advice I have...but it's more of a preference...
  18. I have never had a problem with that... Morty can (0) action companion one and fresh meat him up into the fray and they do a lot of damage with one little flurry... Seamus should mostly have belles, and probably the Convict Gunslinger, I've seen those belles do more damage than they should. McMourning is the ressers heavy melee master, if there ever was one but you're better off using Lady J, the Viks, or Lilith for that. If you want to go old school with your demo and just have people beat on each other, go with Perdita vs. Lilith. Maybe the Viks vs. Lady J or something.
  19. Well that was...fanciful. But it still doesn't change my mind. We'll do it legit on Thursday and see what happens. =\ if it even counts...=P
  20. It's alright, I just wish they'd stop pooping on the Ressers... Seamus and Molly...maybe Kirai, are the only ones who get any love. Nico and Morty have a few brief moments in the latter half of the second book, but all he did was drop a bomb on Hammy and a Lady J... McM is completely unknown...for the most part.
  21. Well, if I had the moola...I would fund a little outing so that other people could see what we are talking about.
  22. Yes, but the fact we have so many of these "Beat up Hamelin" threads, isn't that proof alone he is overpowered? I don't really have the time right now to pull up all of the discrediting people do against Sandy, but it's not such...direct "You're wrong, buttlicker" but more of just people cherry picking everything he says like politicians.
  23. Make that 3, my brother...as much as I dislike him, I know he is someone's lovechild...therefore, nothing will change. For better or for worse. But I am siding with you guys cause regardless of numbers...you make more sense.
  24. hmm, I can understand the theme, but I have personally not had much luck with the Autopsies, and against a rangy crew...you can return fire, but that Easy to Wound they have will really put you at a disadvantage. But to be honest, I would just drop the nurse and his totem in favor of more dogs. The totem just seems to silly now that Wyrd has smacked us with the cuddle bat. Although, I know it acts like a Vulture for him though, and with the dogs being pretty easy to knock down it'd be good to have someone to scoop it up. Also you may want to advise the person playing to snatch those two soulstones above your cache and make them into his Body Part Counters and show them how to pop a Frankie out on the first turn...amusing...but optional. Sebs and McMourning are absolutely brutal, the only major weakness of the good doctor I have found is to make sure to kill him before he activates, because of Organ Donor and a lot of Soulstones....ahaha he can come back very quickly.
