  1. There is a VERY small store in Cinnaminson, NJ called Ye Olde Hobby Games. The Malifaux following there is tiny, and I mean really tiny. Myself and Satyrwyld are the only regular players. The shop's location is great for me. However the hours are not conducive to play. I work full time, and get home / to the store anywhere from 6 to 6:30. On "Malifaux Monday," the store closes at 7. I usually play wednesdays as well, though.

  2. ...when you spend your free time calculating the interaction of shipping schedules to try and guess when your new models will arrive. ...when you are willing to pay multiple shipping costs for buying things because you just can't wait to fill up your cart and make it, "worth it". "If you've answered 'Yes' to any of these items then you're the perfect candidate for The Guild sanctioned counselling!"
  3. I tried WoW once, with the free trial. I spent a week and a half in college playing it day and night almost non-stop. Somehow through some miraculous application of sheer force of will, I was able to stop. Well, that and the fact that I couldn't afford to subscribe. I'm so glad that I stopped playing as, like you said, had I kept up with it I would now be lost within it with no social life to speak of I'd much rather play miniatures games with my friends
  4. So I noticed your from the Philadelphia area. Also a fellow Neverborn player. I'm from just across the Delaware in South Jersey. Maybe we could play a game sometime? Where are your usual haunts?

  5. ***WARNING*** What you are about to see may SHOCK and AMAZE you. --World's most extreme high speed police car chases
  6. Thanks for the suggestions. I've been looking at different models for her and wondering what type of support she would need.
  7. Demo went pretty well this past weekend. We only got through about 1.5 rounds as there were more beginners there than I expected. Still, I think our area might see some new players now. I'm happy about that.
  8. Kirai has a great tactica thread up in the ressurectionist forum. Go check it out. This thread was specifically for a strategy to be used with her in a brawl. Her box set is expensive, but from what I understand, it's pretty good out of the box.
  9. I've recently been playing all my game in a small shop in the New Jersey suburbs of Philadelphia, but I'm looking to play more often. If anyone knows any good spots or tournaments nearby Philly, myself and a few friends might be willing to travel and stop in. If anyone is interested in making the trip to my store, I can provide more information. Our best night seems to be Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday so far, but I usually don't bother going unless I have a game set up ahead of time.
  10. One of the guys on this site runs his own website with a lot of Malifaux downloadable stuff on it. Consider printing out the quick reference sheets and handing them out so spectators can better follow along.
  11. I got mine on Amazon. Hopefully this link will work for you: [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Grade-Super-Strong-Neodymium-Magnets/dp/B001ANVAHI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1286475042&sr=8-1[/ame]
  12. I can actually help with this one. MAGNETS. I got a pack of 100 tiny little N42 magnets on the internet for about $5. And I mean these things are SMALL. They're like 5mm in diameter. The worked wonders for by my Coryphee and for Ramos' spiders. Glue one to the feet of the model itself, and glue another to the underside of the base. Works like a charm. With about 2lbs of attractive force between the magnets, they're powerful enough to keep even tall models standing, while still remaining easily removable with some sliding. Good luck, and have fun gluing!
  13. You might try looking into Nicodem The Undertaker. He's one of my favorite masters. He's basically a support caster that reanimates undead to do the bulk of his fighting. Another alternative would be Leveticus The Steampunk Necromancer. While I've never played him, I think his flavor might fit what you're looking for a bit better. However, I must warn you, I've heard tell that he's one of the most difficult Masters in the game to master (no pun intended). In my opinion, he is certainly not a Master for beginners. From the Neverborn (My favorite faction) Pandora might fit the bill. She's a great master, but again, is complicated to learn. From the guild, maybe Lady Justice? She has that whole "Holier than thou" sense of righteousness and determination thing going on, but she's more of a melee artist than a priest. I REALLY have to remember to use that saying! XD
  14. Thanks for clearing that up, but that still doesn't answer my other question: Doesn't this activation sequence end up with Collette back where Performer 1 started the turn off?
  15. Unless I missed something, I think you can only choose one companion for the Mannequin. Therefore you can't activate coryphee1, 2, Collette, and Cassandra simultaneously, you must pick one. I also believe this leaves Collette in the corner of the board where the Performers had originally started out, but I may somehow have misread your post.
  16. These are amazing. My compliments to the chef. I love quick reference cards in table top gaming. Malifaux puts them to great use in and of itself, and you guys have just made that better. Thanks!
  17. I lol'd. Just kidding! Vikky is really just Perdita's sister that was abandoned at childbirth!
  18. I... need to go buy kirai...*runs off* Dude seriously, this is NASTY. I have an extensive collection of Rez minions because I'm a Nic player, but this is exactly the type of Brawl support I've been looking for for him. I believe someone's already said it, but, DAAAAAAAAAAMN!
  19. You don't NEED book 2. It just has extra rules and extra models. The core book contains all of the core game mechanics that you need to play. Though, I do recommend printing off the errata that Wyrd has kindly supplied us with. It clears up some of the wonky stuff and typos, but is limited to book 1 right now. That said, Rising Powers is an AMAZING purchase. Very worth the money if for the fluff alone which I am just now working my way through. Sonia v Kirai - I actually think these two masters would be a pretty decent match up if you can both learn their respective SWOT (Strengths Weaknesses and Opportunistic Tactics ). From what I've seen, Sonia has some pretty good spellcaster hate, and some of her explosions and magical attacks can make Kirai's crew cry. That said, Kirai's units are reasonably expendable. When played right, she can usually count on summoning a good amount of reinforcements, sometimes behind enemy lines to screw with their opponents' lists. If the wife needs any tips on playing Kirai, I HIGHLY recommend attacking the Resurrectionist forum where you will find and AMAZING tactica for Kirai. It will teach you the ins and outs of her starting crew and additional models you may consider buying later. As for Sonnia, I can't be of as much help. The Guild is the only faction that I have NOT bought models from, but Sonnia may have a tactica as well. Other than that, it sounds like you're golden. Go nuts!
  20. I moved it: http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?p=170065#post170065
  21. I honestly think Myranda is an auto-include for any Marcus list. Her flexibility is far too important to replace with anything else. Molemen are huge support for Marcus. Run at least one. But be mindful that I would use this model purely defensively. Don't bother with Silurids. As a mostly Neverborn player, I've never been impressed with them. The Shikome (if it is what I'm thinking it is, I don't have the Rising Powers models memorized yet), sounds like a good buy. Maybe even two of them. Rogue Necromancy - No. I would not include this model in a Marcus list. It is a killing machine, true. It is expensive, also true. For the same price you could buy Myranda and a Mole Man. I see the RN as being a "win more" model for rezzers (summoned late game when there is nothing more to do but win more than you already are), not a combat slave for Marcus. I feel like you would get much more mileage out of those 10ss buy hiring just about anything else.
  22. Here's your new thread: http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?p=170038#post170038
  23. This came up in another thread: So, this would mean that friendly models cannot heal her, buff her, or otherwise help her in any way? In fact, it means Collette cannot use her (1)Illusionist on Cassandra until after the second turn! Perhaps the ability was intended to state that she cannot be targetted by enemy models unless it is with a ranged strike/spell attack?
  24. So I got all ready to quote the rules on attacks and then I realized that didn't actually prove anything. It just more clearly defined what the problem is. As you can see, Link would only be considered an attack were it targetting an enemy. As it an action that does not inflict damage, or cause a resist dual and it targets an ally, it is not considered an attack. The big snag is that though Link is not considered an ATTACK, it still TARGETS. Celebrity makes Cassandra immune to (it would seem) EVERYTHING that targets her that is not either a ranged strike or a spell attack. Hmmm.
  25. Yes, Casting Cost is what I meant by CC. And you make a good point. In the grand scheme of things, attacking with a stat of 4 isn't all that bad. It's not up to the strength of some other dedicated offensive units, like Cassy, but it's not terrible either. And since they must resist with CA, which is usually not the highest of stats for Minions anyway. I can now see a few birds doing some serious damage, not to mention being able to warp another unit like Cassy or the Corys into combat after you've bombarded them with birds. I'm definitely going to have to try this out. Why do I get the image of the Cuccos from Zelda swarming one of the units on the battlefield Any chance you could crunch the numbers on Collette's :tomes :tomes :tomes trigger?
