  1. I went similar to Lobo. I scanned book two, cropped out the rules and reduced the size in photoshop, then added some circles to the right side of the card for damage. I printed them out at a 3x5 size on my printer and stuck em in a top loader. It's rather rough and there is no pretty artwork but it works in a pinch.
  2. Great job. I think he looks surprisingly good. We were using an old Mordheim Ogre as a Carver proxy. I wish I had thought of using a plastic Ogre as a base. I have a bunch of those in my bitz bin.
  3. Disturbia has a range of Twisted Toys that could work for wicked dolls: http://www.monolithdesigns.co.uk/update110804/CM111.jpg http://www.monolithdesigns.co.uk/update110804/CM112.jpg http://www.monolithdesigns.co.uk/update030405/CM113.jpg I'm a fan of the second and third links myself. Combine this fellah with the arms from a Cryx Cephalyx and you've got an instant Collodi: http://www.monolithdesigns.co.uk/update110804/BM001.jpg The figures are on the larger side...but if you're running a crew of dolls you can get away with it a bit more.
  4. Bumping this up to see if anyone has come up with anything cool for the Guardian. Short of proxying in one of my Cygnar Lancers (little big) or maybe a Khador Man O War, I'm out of ideas. Anyone has a nice steampunk robot with a sword and shield?
  5. Werecat has the right of it; Alyce (Meg) and Toolkit ( Squire). For my Gunsmith I used Freebooter's Doc Taranto: http://www.freebooterminiatures.de/en/catalog/24
  6. Finally got my 45 stone crew (and summons) finished!. I decided to go with the Mobile Toolkit and re-based my Brass Arachnid on a 40mm base, bought a second one and used them as a Large Steampunk Arachnids. Group Shot (sorry bad pic): Johan, Large Steampunk Arachnids, and the Gunsmith: Some Spiders: Ramos, again: Ramos, Rusty Alyce and Totem proxies: Johan and the Gunsmith: Electrical Creation: Partial overview of the town we played in today. The Carver mission. I managed to win by annihilating The Carver in one turn . It was magical. We changed things up a tiny bit by allowing all houses to be searchable, not just three, and we had a friend control The Carver.
  7. I've got 5 from book 1 and only a Henchman (Ophelia) from book 2. Ramos, Teeth, Tina, Big Z, and Pandora are my current haves. I've got my sites on McMourning and The Dreamer though.
  8. Plastic molds are more expensive then the molds for metal minis. That's why you see most companies starting out with metal then switching to plastic when they grow. Or so the internet says. :abduct:
  9. Alright I think I've settled on my list. Thanks for all your help guys. As of right now I'm going: Ramos ToolKit Alyce Johan Large Arachnid Large Arachnid Steampunk Arachnid Steampunk Arachnid Steampunk Arachnid Steampunk Arachnid Leaving me with 6 stones. I'm not totally opposed to swapping out Johann for a Guild Guardian which would leave me at 4 stones. I'm a little worried about objective claiming but hopefully I'll be able to summon enough spiders to get some swarms going. Between the Spiders and the Abominations I should be able to summon enough to keep the Ortegas busy!
  10. Woo. Lot's to absorb here. I really have no interest in the Coryphee. They're just something I don't want to paint. I had forgotten about most of the book two models. I like the Large Arachnids. Anyone have any experience with Soulstone Miners? They might work well since they can burrow.
  11. I have a 45ss scrap coming up next week against Perdita. I've been struggling for the past week with coming up with a list. Do I max out on Spiders? Or do I try and squeeze in as much ranged as possible to try and counter the Ortega's. I have never played against Perdita (and only played Ramos once) so I have no idea what I'm up against. Right now at 45ss I have the following: Ramos Toolkit Steampunk Arachnid Steampunk Arachnid Steampunk Arachnid Joss Gunsmith Convict Gunslinger Rusty Alyce This leaves me with 4 stones for the boss. Am I lacking in arachnids here? Should I drop the Gunslinger for more spiders? Alyce for Johan? We've never played a game this large! So many choices! :boom: I'm up against: Perdita Santiago Franisco 3x Marshalls Judge 2x Guild Hounds and an Excecutioner
  12. Managed to finish off most of Ramos crew. I've yet to tackle the Steamborg, it's an intimidating model to paint. I also had to break down and order a Rusty Alyce proxy. I'm legally blind in one eye and she's just too tiny for me to paint. I have to stick to mostly "chunky" figures. I went with "Dirty Meg" from PP. It's one of those models I always wanted. So I still have my Alyce, Joss and Gunsmith proxies as well as a Convict Gunslinger and Steamborg to paint. Hoping to get the done by the 23rd. I have a 45ss game and I'd like to use this crew. Camera didn't want to focus on the little fellah's. But they're just metallic anyhow. Nothing fancy.
  13. No pics of mine, but I painted the first five exactly as you did. The next five I primed black and their waiting. We used them as poison counters in a game two weeks ago and they worked great! I've got another game on the 23rd. If I remember I'll take some pics when we inevitably toss these out on the table again. Definitely looking forward to what you come up with for explosives!
  14. I don't hate the sword itself...it's the arm holding the sword. It looks wonky for some reason.
  15. The rider is a major let down. Tiny horse and the awkward sword arm really bug me. I have no opinion in the two demons since I never plan on using them Copey and the Stitched are both excellent. I was going to wait for the Stitched Together blister since I really just want them to make a Zoriada doll force, but after seeing the full contents of the box I'm sold. I'm picturing LCB as growing upward from the Dreamer's mind. Stretching forth like a sinister shadow and we're seeing the model at the end of his transformation/arrival just before he lowers his arms and lets out a roar. I prefer the small box LCB. I thought the nightmare version was horrible (can't quite understand people paying so much for him online).
  16. That model looks like a nightmare to transport! Oof.
  17. I'm not big on these types of films...but Geoffrey Rush doing his grizzled character work? That may seal the deal on this one. He's the best thing to happen to the PotC films (not that hack Depp ). Malifaux needs more Swamp Pirates. Not ninjas. Bleh!
  18. I was going to use this model as Hans in my Raspy crew: http://privateerpress.com/files/products/khador/units/widowmakers.png I've also found the PP models are smaller then a lot of the Wyrd minis. Like the 13th Gun Mages I bought to stand in for the Gunsmith. They looked like teenage boys next to Ramos. I had to axe them and order Doc Taranto. With the female figures you can get away a bit more with the size difference though. My friends Perdita proxy, Valeria, looks perfectly find mixed in with the rest of his guild crew. I really like that Jack Daw suggestion you had Pox. That's a really cool model. She's make a good Betty for a Pirate themed resser crew too.
  19. With a little imagination "Dirty Meg" from Warmachine could make a nice Johan fill in. She doesn't have a hammer but a big honkin wrench works for me:) She's got the MS&U look down: http://privateerpress.com/warmachine/gallery/mercenaries/solos/dirty-meg Tabletop Gaming New also had a preview for an Anima Tactics female smashing a huge hammer into the ground a couple days ago. The site is down right now but once it pops up I'll post the link.
  20. It looks a bit like a dead rabbit. Mean little suckers those zombie Chihuahua's!
  21. Ratty has the right of it. Pancake Joss is one of the few sculpts I just do not like. I'm not a huge fan of using proxies either so I've been considering just not using him at all, which is why I have Johan in my crew. I have an Iron Kingdoms Trollkin I'm likely going to paint up and use for now. Instead of a Native American he can be a Native Malifauxiean. We only game at home so I don't really have to worry about anyone giving me a hard time about what I use. :spider:
  22. Not sure on the crates. I picked them up on eBay and they just came in a box. However I just looked up Antenociti and I would say that yes, those are the same crates! I also want to thank you for pointing them out. They've got some great stuff on that site. The bases that are painted are Back 2 Basix that I had laying around. Ramos is on Johan's base. The other bases are all from Dragon Forge, including the counters. http://dragonforge.com/ I usually base all my models on Dragon Forge stuff. Jeff's an awesome guy.
  23. Thanks guys :embarasse. I was a little worried going in on Ramos because I haven't painted a "human" in close to ten years. It's been all Greenskins for me. I had a lot of fun basing the spiders. I really wanted them to feel a bit like they were scrambling about in an old factory and once I saw I could get an opening box I had to have one crawling out. Now I just need to find a good Joss proxy....
  24. This figure from Microart makes a decent "hairy" Hoffman. Or even a young Ramos.:
  25. I finally have my Ramos crew fully assembled and have started slapping some paint on them. I did order Doc Taranto to be my Gunsmith. He's on his way. I'm also planning on using the Brass Arachnid as a Mobile Toolkit proxy since I somehow misplaced my little Warmachine half jacks. The Fleur De Ly counters are going to stand in for scrap counters until I build some. Now I just have to wait for the weather to warm up so I can prime the rest and continue painting them.
