  1. Sorry its taking me so long to get to the other counters. I'm in the middle of painting 3000 points of Orks for 40k. I'll be making a body parts counter and the explosives counters for sure. I'm still taking orders for the corpse counters through my e-mail. Details on my blog. I'll post a couple early builds for the counters here, and get some feedback before casting begins.
  2. One more counter to add to the list. What do you think? A shield with 2 + marks on it? I forget what all defensive stance does for you, I'll look it up later and come up with a sketch. You could place the counter on the character card, so when the time comes to do the flip, it's there in front of you.
  3. Update: I hope everyone who ordered is enjoying the counters! I've gotten some great feedback from you guys, and a couple new orders too. I haven't been pushing these much since I've been busy with commission, but I wondering how everyone painted theirs? I'd love to see some pics of people using them in game! I'm working on explosives base inserts for the book 2 objective, and I still need to come up with a better scrap token.
  4. Whatever you do, remember, thin paint in multiple layers. You have to be willing to go over the same area a couple times to get a solid color. But all of those thin layers will add up quick. And just something I found helped me: dry brushing has it's place, not to be used to paint an entire mini! Paint a couple minis without dry brushing at all, then compare them to an older mini. You should see quite the difference.
  5. Nice Find! I'm in the middle of painting my Steamborg and was running into the problem of finding complimentary colors for his skin. It's kind of a blueish purple, so I guess an orange rust metal will fit nicely.
  6. Fantastic! I'll take all of these down to a quick print shop and get them printed on card stock. Then they're getting sleeved so we can randomly draw during games. Little things like this add up to make Malifaux an even better game. And a HUGE thanks to Wyrd for supporting community efforts to add to their game.
  7. Hey, I remember you! Yup, it's me, still playing at Rival's, although I haven't played 40k since Malifaux has picked up here. We've got a Malifaux league on Tuesdays at 6 if you're interested.

  8. Hey, Skye-- This is Andy Corcoran. You may remember me as the guy with the converted white chaos daemon army or the land raiders with all the side panels stuffed with skulls & bones. I assume you still play at Rivals, yeah? --Andy

  9. Although all are well painted(and they are), my favorite is the Convict Gunslinger. I've been looking for a way to make him stand out, and you have an awesome idea with the body paint. Have you thought of hitting them with a matte coat to kill some of the shine?
  10. I love the green eyes! I've been looking for a way to make my zombies look creepier, and that does the trick. I like the shorter necks as well.
  11. You just sold me on acrylic retarder, and by the sounds of it, most of the forum as well. It's little tips like that that make these threads so awesome. Thanks again for posting these, I look forward to seeing the rest of the Ressers.
  12. Here's a quick shot of white primer with a Devlan Mud wash. To bring up the highlights, you can dry brush white over this, but I avoid dry brushing whenever possible.
  13. They released a new mini rather than re-write Ramos or the BA. After seeing all that C. Hoffman can do, I wish they would have just re-written Ramos. For such a key player in the fluff, he seemed a bit lack-luster in game. They do have a new minion called the Large Arachnid that looks suspiciously like a BA, saw and all(on a 40mm base). So you can still use the model. But as far as rules go, if you want Ramos to be as effective as possible, I can't see taking the BA over the mobile tool kit. Power Creep has always been an issue in games, and having to re-write whole characters can cause more problems than solutions. The MTK and Ramo's ability to use the new Guild constructs is an uncomplicated solution.
  14. Don't forget the giant pipe organ! That in itself would be a great piece to add as scenery. If you really wanted to go all out you could make two tables, one the entrance/building. The other the basement/sewer smugglers den. Have the tables side by side and play a massive guild raid on the Star. If I had space to store them, I'd be building this already! Just as a side note, I don't think a lot of theaters had a second floor(built above the stage area). The upper levels would be built around it. It's great to see people making larger tables like this, it really makes for memorable games.
  15. Well, since the inclusion of the Mobile Toolkit nullifies any chance Ill ever take the Brass Arachnid again, I'll be using it as a proxy. I do plan on buying the actual model when it comes out, but until then I'll get what use I can from a now defunct model.
