  1. Yes, we understood that, but Madman and others contended that because the ability was on his card, that it took effect at the beginning of each turn, and therefore, during each turn, the Acolyte could not be charged/targeted until it had taken it's action. I understand why it doesn't work that way, was just to see if there was anything specific to indicate why to help them understand easier.
  2. Well, to be fair, you can't be charged or targetted by Ranged attacks during initial deployment anyways, so that doesn't fully answer our question. The rules don't specifically state that it permanently ends for the rest of the game after the first time the Acolyte does something other than Pass. That's what we were looking to clarify. I assumed that this is how it worked, but Madman and others had read it differently.
  3. Yeah, I think I'd rather see them finish releasing all of the models for Books 1 & 2, and get all of the rule issues straightened out. Then when they release Book 3, have it included a very nice, detailed, and well-planned out version of the game rules.
  4. This came up in my game against Madman last night. He had originally assumed that 'In the Shadows' was in effect at the beginning of every turn, while I contended that it only takes effect once, at the beginning of the game, and the first time he makes any sort of attack, then the benefits go away for the rest of the game. Can someone clarify? The wording in the rule book/card isn't really clear.
  5. LOL, well, would be semi-tough for me to pull it off now, but I guess it depends on how easily I can work him loose from the base. Might be fun just to have multiple bases for him, hahaha. I'll see what I can come up with.
  6. Hmmm....not really sure I would make a Teddy look a Brachiasaurus, but I'll think on it. I actually realized after I had finished my clear coating, that I really should've put the T-Rex on the front in Blue or Black so it would've matched LCB better, and then maybe put a Triceratops or something on the back. But I didn't want the colors to match his blanket too closely either. I'm glad to see people getting a kick out of the pokemon reference. If I had known it would be that popular, maybe I would've built him as if he were emerging from a pokeball, LOL. Would be pretty easy with a ping pong ball or something probably. I am tempted now though, to try and sculpt up a pokeball and baseball cap just to toss on the case of The Dreamer when his custom base arrives.
  7. LOL, I know. I'm not really a pokemon fan, but that's what I keep thinking of when I think about a young boy summoning monsters to fight for him. I actually went with the dark hair just tie into the look with LCB. If you look closely, the Dreamer that's sitting on Chompy's shoulder actually has the same hint of blue-wash that LCB does, where as the stand-alone Dreamer just has straight black hair.
  8. Nice!! Wasn't expecting the Miss Pack and Henchmen as well. <runs off to User CP>
  9. Yeah, you can click the pics for larger versions. Just posted thumbnails in the thread so as not to have "OMGWTFBBQ THOSE PICS R HUGE!!11!1!!1!"
  10. Edited first post with my Ronin 'Deadly Viper Assassination Squad'. :
  11. LOL, OK, so that's what I keep picturing when I think of the little boy summoning a bunch of monsters to fight for him. Anyways, here's my dreamer... I thought, like any normal young boy, he'd be into dinosaurs, and what would be more cool than for the dinosaurs to disappear off his PJs and come to life! I actually have this rock-like custom base on order for LCB, but I was anxious to get him painted, and then found this really sweet locket-type thing at Michael's. It's designed to sandwhich a photo between two panes of glass. Well, I thought some fun could be had with that, and sure enough, it was almost exactly the right size for the 50mm base. So, I thought, well, if the Dreamer summons LCB to fight for him, why not something that looked like summoning rings? (Actually says "Lord Chompy Bits" in runic type letters there too, though the camera wanted to focus on the back of Chompy's head, lol) And a few more angles for good measure. This was actually a really fun model to work on, and I honestly did most of the assembly, gluing, painting, and base work all in two evenings. I do have a custom base on the way for the Dreamer as well, but figured I'd go ahead and show him off as is. And this one is just funny because my cat wanted to see what was going on, haha
  12. It will have a tiny 'v2' in the bottom corner if it is indeed a Version 2 card. Oh, and it will include the errata.
  13. I painted up my Dreamer with light blue PJs, and then painstakingly created small dinosaurs on his PJs. Then, for the Dreamer who sits on the Nightmare LCB's shoulders, I chose to leave off the dinosaurs. Like they leapt off his PJs and became real monsters. I've mostly seen lightish grays or dark black/blues used on LCB so far. I like the idea of all of the dreams being in grayish tones, as that should look neat together. I like color myself, so I think I'd be bored playing with my squad if there wasn't any nice colors and such. But I've seen a lot of nice 'spirit' type looking paint jobs on Nightmares or Spirits so far.
  14. Hahaha, nice. On that note, I've found that hot glue works quite nicely for temporarily attaching pieces to a base, just for something extra to hold onto while painting. Then, if you get a custom base down the road, or something like that, it's easy to take off the hot glue.
  15. Very nice! It's actually a very similar paint scheme to what I chose, but you went with dark colors on the claws too, and I went with more bone-colors. I need to post pics of mine tonight, now that my clear coat has dried.
  16. I'm super excited about Hoffman, but I don't have my Book 2 yet (on order) and I'm currently buried in other models I'm trying to paint and learn how to play. I'm a robotics guy at heart, so I always tend toward the mechanical units in games like this. So Ramos interested me a little as I've been getting into the game the last 3 months, but when I saw Hoffman and the other new Guild Constructs in the book at GenCon, I about flipped out. So I'm definitely looking forward to running some Brawls with him and Ramos, as then you could use the Coryphees.
  17. Wow....you are all a bunch of nerds.... Oh wait... That was an awesome read though. Nice work.
  18. Word of caution to everyone....don't drop your LCB. I know this should be obvious, but...lol. Especially if you trimmed any of the pegs on his arms to get them to assemble. I only dropped mine about 6 inches or so, but it was enough to wiggle the glue loose on his back left arm. I ended up having to pull it all the way loose, and then re-glue it. Luckily I didn't have to re-do any green stuff work, just repaint it. Also, don't trim down the pegs as much as I did. Just use a file or something to get it to fit just right. I was a bit over zealous in wanting to assemble him, so I probably trimmed too much off the peg in trying to get it to mate to the hole properly. In the end though, my LCB looks awesome, and I just know to hang onto him better now. I only dropped him because I was trying to paint some weird angle (probably between his legs or something), while trying to not hold onto any other recently painted parts.
  19. There's a thread in the Showcase area with quite a few completed pics. I just finished up mine last night, but didn't have time to take photos. Hopefully tonight.
  20. Eh, USPS' delivery confirmation system is almost always 1 or more days behind. They don't have a system like UPS/FedEx that updates it automatically every time it's scanned. I've had things I bought on Ebay arrive at my house before the USPS DC code ever even shows it was shipped on their website.
  21. I don't see the metagaming aspect of it as being too much of a problem though. Take for instance a different game that I've played for years: Star Wars Miniatures. In that game, many characters have Force Points that they can spend for special abilities, such as Deflect, which negates incoming damage. Most characters have a limited pool of Force Points, so yes, a popular technique is to throw a bunch of small pieces at that bigger piece, and get them to waste their Force Points trying to survive the little damage hits. Then, when they are low or out of Force Points, your big hitters move in and attack the more vulnerable enemy. The meta-gaming is never going to go away. IMO, if you're facing undead and flipping tons of cards all the time, you're just as likely to pull the Red Joker very early in the round as you are late in the round. At that point, if you pull it early, then again, you meta game by attempting to avoid combat as much as possible, unless you are fairly certain you can get decent damage flips and/or cheat things in your favor. EDIT: actually, an even worse case is possible too, that you pull the red joker for your fate hand at some point in the game. You'd have very little use for it beyond just using it as a '14' in an attack duel, because if you're getting :-fate on most of your damage, you'd never be able to use it to cheat your damage flip.
  22. How did you set them up for combining on a single base? Doesn't look like you used magnets, so I assume it's just with pins? I like the stark contrast in colors between the two. It's like 'good' cory and 'evil' cory.
  23. You need to post some better close-ups of the Gunslinger. It's a really solid piece in person and this photo just doesn't do it justice.
  24. I could possibly see it working where if you have a negative flip and you pull the red joker, that you just get the Severe damage for the red joker, but NOT the additional damage card as well. I really don't much care either way, because for the most part, I'm very entertained when there are massive twists in the gameplay like that. The strategy in it is just to pay attention to the cards your opponent has flipped so far, and if his deck is low and the Red Joker has still not shown it's face, then run your crew in such a way the rest of that turn so they don't get to flip too many cards. Try to make it to the next round and make him reshuffle the deck. The other thing you could've been done, would be to cheat that 17/17 so that he beats the defense by a higher amount. Although, in this case it wouldn't have mattered much, since he flipped the Red Joker on the first card. But if you don't want him flipping a lot of cards, cheat in something low, so that he gets a from the Duel, then the:-fate from Hard to wound, for a total of only . Then he only flips two cards, and goes through the remainder of his deck much slower.
