  1. That goal by Kennedy was a beauty though. 1 down 81 to go then the race to 16
  2. Answers in purple. Before I get you intimidated, painting can be a lot of fun if you let it, and this game is fun, especially if you have some fun-loving mates to play with/against.
  3. So maybe I can re-edit that my quasi-tactica for Sorrows is now usable as originally intended?
  4. Black is PITA to do right. Great job overall, but kudos on that work.
  5. Cool model, but would look out of place amongst the Malifaux collection of minis.
  6. On the upside, you'll only ever need one of them, so consider it an investment.
  7. Elmer's glue (the white stuff in the stationary aisle.) I use it more or less straight out of the bottle, brush it on with an old brush. This hydroscopic qualtiy might have been why my salt + sugar mix worked so poorly. The baking soda seems to be a bit less so. As to the issue of discoloring, I finished my Bone Grinders two years ago with no such issue. I did hit my models with two layers of Dullcote after about an hour for the glue to dry.
  8. I used to use a mix of salt and sugar. It works to a point (if you like wet snow). I tried addind baking soda to this mix and it gets a bit fluffier while keeping enough of the wet look. 1 part salt 1 part sugar 3 parts baking soda
  9. Most of it's not remotely close to Malifaux, style-wise or anything. If anything, they're a bit over-the-top style-wise, like someone got really impressed with how much detail the 3-D rendering program could put out and didn't know where to stop. Not my cup of tea, but if anyone has any pics of these models painted, I'm open to checking it out.
  10. I do see your point about the errata on Mimic, although the spell description for Grow and mature specifically state "this model", not referencing "this Terror Tot" or "this Young Nephilim". Last I checked, "this model" specifically references the model performing the given action. In all fairness, given the versatility of a Doppler, it now seems a bit foolish to Grow one to a Young neph, and even Maturing one to a Mature Neph might be questionable.
  11. Doppler is so versatile that "standard" strats can't really be listed, even master-specific. I'll say this, if you're running Neph-heavy Lil lists, the following sound fun: Black Blood: especially if you think Doppler is about to get meleed. It might even make someone think twice. Might. Flay: If you're about to melee. The potential extra damage could mean the difference between a wounded model and a dead model. Drain Blood: Mimicing this is tricky business. You have to be able to be certain you can kill a model on Doppler's dmg track and keep the second (Instinctual) (0) Action available to actually drain the blood. Diving Attack: Situationally useful (as in, I got 5 enemy models between Doppler and model I want dead/wounded/occupied) I guess for laughs you might try Mimicing Grow or Mature if you have the cards and counters, although I'd search the rules forums first. Don't forget Use Soulstiones: It will let Doppler do all kinds of fun stuff for the turn.
  12. Special Edition Pink Sharks jerswy... game rooms across the world are about to get ugly.
  13. I was thinking the same thing, except to suggest P3 Coal Black, which might be a bit more fiddly adding the grey, but keeps it dark while adding a bit of blue-green to the mix.
  14. 1. Good comedy makes you laugh and think, not neccesarily in that order. Thus they have to be intelligent and grounded. This is what made George Carlin so great. I don't have to agree with a particular position (i.e., Guys Named Todd) to relate to how much thought went into the points scattered throughout the funny bits. 2. Politicians don't make me laugh. And the few times they do make me think, it is usually along the lines of, "What the **** are they thinking?!!!" Then again, they are not there to be thoughtful or funny. They are there to sell the image of actually doing something to justify having the people elect them again at a later date.
  15. Fixed... and thank you very much indeed. Eric Edit - Don't think I can't edit this too
  16. When playing, I prefer to interact, humorously as much as possible, with my fellow players. No blaring. For painting, well, whatever is available.
  17. Here is the thing... If you have watched hockey on TV ( from around center ice camera view), you miss everything along the near boards and do lose some of the action during line changes... believe it or not, a beautiful sight when viewed from behind the goal. It is the little things that make primo seats worthwhile.
  18. In all fairness, it's an indusrty-wide thing. More models = more $$$. Most people can accept spending $200 on models if the game is fun and the models aren't total a$$. It's when the game sucks and/or the models suck that you get complaints.
  19. Best seats are behind the net, upper deck front row. Great view of the playing surface and you see the goals at the same time as the goal judge. On or behind the goal line is good, and I avoid center ice unless the tix are free, then the price is right and I throw my normal standards out the window.
  20. Currently using P3 for colors and Vallejo Game Color (VGC) metallics. Wanted to try some different paints. I have used most of the VGC line and was extremely happy with them and since getting some new sable and Kolinsky brushes am becoming very much happy with the P3 again. I wanted to get as many opinions as possible regarding the Vallejo Model Color (VMC) line as well as Reaper Master paints and their other line (cant think of name and site is down.) I am particularly interested if anyone who has used both lines can compare - contrast the two. As I said, I really am just looking to get as much information on my options available. i can get all lines locally, that is not an issue. Thank you, Todd
  21. No problem, so Ddot and the Canes vs Keeblerpowell and the Lightning. FINALLY, a reason to watch Southeast Div hockey again. Any Caps fans wanting to chide me for that comment, I have two words for ya: GAME SEVEN :hahaha::angryfire
  22. Just to keep things friendly, winner buys the model for the loser to paint... sound fair. We can work out furthur particulars from there. *PS, I picked the Hurricanes. Just wait til October. And please dont' threaten the makers.
  23. I ll take the Hurricanes against the Wild. Although it would be a bit more interesting if you took the Lightning on this, as they are in the same division. I'll leave it to you if you want to change for final.
