  1. Thank you. Except for Nico, all of those models were "greyscaled" and glazed to colors. Basically, start with a dark grey, build up to near-white highlights, then add color. It works wonderfully with the clunky textures of zombified stuff, I don't know that I would try it on other types of models.
  2. Your painting is definitely awesome. I posted that before i realized it was 280-some posts long. Found Mini_me and was not disappointed at all. I also like some of the stuff you did with your Pandi crew. She was one of my first masters and I never did get her painted to my satisfaction. I think she's going to take the Simple Green bath sometime in the near future. Also, I do find the alt-Pandi to be a much better model overall, so that might be an option for me as well.
  3. That's a very cool look. The flesh tones in particular work well for this crew. Can't wait to see Mini-Me. :+fate
  4. The variety of colors for the outfits works out really well. I would be inclined to have performer and her mannequin wear matching (or at least similar) colors. This came out too well. :+fate
  5. That Raptor is sweet. I like the dull red-grey body and the bright blue wings. Really stands out. Good call with the macaw scheme. The PFlame is nicely done also. Can't wait to see the rest of the crew.
  6. Some pics of my Nico/Rez crew. Back story: I painted this crew back in Sept of 2011. I finally got to play them yesterday. Very fun to play. Nico Nico and zombified stuff Crooked men Contents of Rez collection: Nico Grave Spirit (not pictured) Mortimer (not pictured) 3 Punk Zombies 3 Crooked men 4 Canine remains 6 Mindless zombies And one of these days I'll take Bete Noir out of her box
  7. I believe last night's Pens-Wings game was what the Brits refer to a "crackin'". The thing that pisses me off about the Matt Cooke suspension is that he's too good a player to have to resort to that BS. Score some goals, make some passes, and lead with the shoulder. It ain't that complicated.
  8. Not sure which one is crazier, but as a tiebreaker, at least Charlie doesn't need three different spellings for his last name.
  9. Painter, Gamer, Modeller Although I'm not doing nearly as much of any of the above as I'd like lately.
  10. First, for Keebler, looks like you'll be adding a pretty model to your collection. The 'Canes have been underwhelming, and the Lightning have been awesome. Second, I'm amazed the Pens have been somewhat hot since the Malkin and Crosby injuries. Looks like there still might be life at the Consul 4077th.
  11. LCB demonstrates the NFL's new guidelines for signaling a fair catch.
  12. Come on, you're telling me we still don't have a carved-in-stone-and signed-in-blood version of Link available??? Natty, that's so f-ed up I'll be reviewing this all night before deciding it's just too ridiculous not to try at least once.
  13. On the other hand, this could just be a natural part of the cycle of releasing new game stuff. Of course there are going to be a lot of rules questions with the new stuff. Looking through it, I feel the vast majority of the queries have had sportsmanship and mutual fun in mind, as opposed to looking for a stupid rules-lawyering loophole for competitive advantage; the result being that possible abuses are brought to the surface and corrected. While a master or minion may suffer, the gaming community wins. BTW, the fact that people are this interested in the subtleties of the game is the sign that it's a good one. Give it time. Once everyone understands how each and very ability interacts with every other ability, those questions will slow down.
  14. Marcus vs Zoraida. 1. There is no such thing as STRAIGHTFORWARD in malifaux. These two sets have enough gimmick without being all gimmick while requiring strategy to make things work. To a lesser extent, you could try lady J and Rasputina for similar reasons. 2. Avoid Pandora at all costs.
  15. Just had to observe on the old table: That thing seemed very tall for you guys. Did you build the legs too long by accident or was that by design?
  16. It's my name (Todd) spelled backwards. Started back around '98 at our Friday night festivals.
  17. The Penguins season so far: The good: Balanced scoring The bad: Malkin's scoring The ugly: Fluery's goaltending Oh, and doing this well without Jordan Staal. Get him back, fix Fluery's head, and pencil them in to return the Stanley Cup to its rightful location- the bottom of Mario Lemieux's pool.
  18. Given how much time Microsoft has had to get it "right", I say it's about time.
  19. Neverborn strategy section would be a good place to start. Welcome to the bored, i mean, boards.
  20. anything with lots of skin, especially if it's a cute chick. I guess I should have paid attention to the Gagne pickup. Very good for TB.
  21. That hit by Letang looked pretty clean to me... what was up with the penalty?
  22. Quoted For Truth All the theory in the world only works when you apply it.
  23. probably looking at Khardic Flesh (shading) Midlunder Flesh (base) Ryn Flesh (highlighting) These are approximate GW equivelents for a "caucasian" skin tone. Remember that P3 paints need to be thinned a bit more than most paints and you will be okay.
  24. I use matte medium to add a little extra body to my paints when I thin them. I use the P3's which have some serious pigment so I have to thin them down quite a bit. With the amount of matte medium I use, the little bit of flow improver helps. I can feel the difference in how smooth my layers have gotten since I started using flow improver. I have to agree with Omenbringer that there is a breakpoint where the paint goes from thin to broken down, because I've hit that point so many times. You can get away with it to a certain extent with darker colors, but it becomes really obvious with anything brighter than "generic" red.
