I'm sure there's some that are in San Francisco proper, but if you get really desperate there's a great place down in San Jose called the Game Kastle that carries just about everything Malifaux-related.

The only thing I can really add is that you should stay away from Resurrectionists for the time being. Two of the three heavily rely on creating new zombies from corpse counters to flood the field, which takes quite a bit of getting used to.

Yup, my roomie and I have picked up most of the starter boxes at this point, so anytime we want we can just pick up two of the masters and have a completely new match. Kind of a good setup for a tournament, if I can get a couple more friends to try it out.

Awesome work. The Molemen might be my favorite "unit," simply because they take a fairly standard concept and make them Quite Badass.

There seems to be a bit of a new trend in board games, with some companies, notably Fantasy Flight Games, releasing enormous, incredibly heavy board games that come stocked with plastic miniatures ranging from a couple to several hundred. I was really surprised when I started looking through all of them the other day at my FLGS - Rune Wars, Tannhauser, Cyclades, Horus Heresy, etc. Are any of these any good? Most of them are in the $80-$100 dollar range, which is obviously going to turn off all but the most devoted board game enthusiast, and I was just curious if any of these are actually worth that price.

I don't *think* so, but I could be wrong. I'm thinking of Marcus as an example. He's an Arcanist, and his stats explicitly say that he can hire Beasts from any faction at no additional cost. So that tells me that unless it's actually said on the Master's stats, you can't hire from another faction other than Mercenaries/Outcasts.
