  1. Thanks LordZombie. So just to be clear: --a Fated could combine an elemental strike magia with a fire immuto and increased damage immuto --a fated could combine an elemental strike magia with an ice immuto, increased damage immuto, and increased range immuto --a fated could combine an elemental strike with a nature immuto and two increased damage immuto --a fated could combine an elemental strike with three fire immuto
  2. In the one shot I ran, I had one Player build a dabbler of the "Geomantic Sciences" (A darker druid). One of this spells combined the Interrogate magia and the location genus (to unleash "land"). He used it to investigate, asking yes or no questions of the area around him. Of course it was land, and so it was fallible, but I thought it was a neat idea that drove the story along and gave him a neat character. Another character was playing a character inspire by Roy Mustang from FMA. after the citizens decided to lynch a character Roy had grown close to, he saved her by using the Teleport Magia and the Fire Genus (along with the focus immuto) for an explosive rescue operation (the flames did no damage). He reasoned that she was the only person to have seen him use his magic, so she would know it was him that saved her. We decided the Hedge Magic theory would be more appropriate for him after this session. I've been combining magia and immuto in my head now for some "bosses" the group will run across, as most manifested powers seem just a bit too overpowered to be seen in every session. I really like the frozen flame idea though, definitely gonna use that!
  3. and a Followup question: what neat magia--immuto combinations have you guys thought up?
  4. To preface this, My TtB Almanac physical copy is on its way (hopefully tomorrow!) so if it's a problem with wording I'll figure it out soon enough. But the "Increased Damage" Immuto reads: "This Immuto may be placed on a Spell multiple times. Each time this Immuto is taken, improve the Magia's Damage Flip..." Pg. 241 and the "Increase AP" Immuto reads: "This Immuto may be taken multiple times, but a character may not spend AP over multiple turns to cast this Spell." Pg. 241 At first I assumed that this meant I could take the "Increased Damage" Immuto once(taking up only one spot in my grimoire), and place it on my blast spell as many times as I want, while I would have to take the "Increase AP" Immuto several times (taking up more than one spot in my grimoire) in order to use it more than once on my magia. 1. Is this right? or is there something I'm missing? 2. Can we place any number of available immuto on one magia, or is it 1 Magia+ 1 Immuto=Spell?
  5. Dropping the sack and losing the soulstone is punishment enough for my players, since soulstones are so expensive.
  6. This is really helpful. I sort of just want to flip fates and practice plot-making that way, now.
  7. I have two questions, if you could: 1--What was poorly built about the graverobber, and how could you have built her differently? 2-- How did you manage the points to build a pet hunter for the tinkerer?
  8. I was thinking about the same thing, the irony of the guild masters. The only one that really fits, though, is Sonnia. Perdita's kind of a stretch, and hoffman isn't hunting just constructs, but contruct/flesh hybrids (like his brother or the steamborg executioner).
  9. Kinda like helen keller, I guess. with the hand palming the signs unto the other hand
  10. She puts the wild west in malifaux to me. : ) pew pew
  11. Alpha strike? 'course not, you know how squishy silurids are. If I had to alpha strike, it'd be with the wicked dolls and their 20" flight range. My zoraida crews aren't mean for combat--She doesn't seem like the master, either thematically or rule-wise, to go straight combat. So I grab the victory points and generally piss my opponents off.
  12. I play Zoraida with silurids and wicked dolls; Last 35 ss game I played: 5 silurids 3 wicked dolls It did help that I have Destroy the Evidence while my opponent had Recon. I know, I'm lame. But I'd play with just wicked dolls if I had enough to proxy that.
  13. I've always thought the guild was mean, though Perdita did seem the lesser of the three evils--not really part of the government, just doing what she's good at and being recognized for it. I do think Lady Justice is the most "noble", though. It is justice, after all.
  14. I think outcasts got two factions because one of the factions is actually made up of all mercenaries--so each faction got one special forces, and then all of them can hire the Friekorps(sp)
  15. No doubt the Convict Gunslinger is a BAMF. There are a lot of good choices for sonnia though, or guild in general, without having to get a mercenary.
  16. Spells and buffs don't count. Not sure I count incite or pacify as an attack. I don't really know where passive abilities fall under this, but I do agree with you on the defense.
  17. Thanks Raintar, but I'd appreciate it if you posted something that helps, rather than hinders, this thread next time. Edit: Do you guys think the factions are fairly well balanced, or are some more powerful than others, even if slightly?
  18. Why did you pick the Convict gunslinger over Sam or another model? Is it the range you're looking for?
  19. I think I like this crew instead of the peacekeeper always in it because you have more bodies to get VPs with. Also, why Francisco? Gremlin Swarm, I like the idea of shuttling my models with the pine box, but it kinda seems really...mean. "I'd rather walk, thanks" that kind of thing.
  20. so what you're saying is...Lady J is coming back as the guild rider? That's what you just said. You said that. Hey guys, Silver Chocobo said Lady J is coming back as a rider.
  21. On the card (and book, not sure), Leveticus is summoned back into play(sometime after he is killed). Per the summon rules, he would get slow. I think they're gonna change it to him being placed like other errata changes, so that he isn't perpetually slowed.
  22. They all look so pretty @_@ Nilus, you'll be more than happy to post your board after I put up a picture of what we play with.
  23. Ignoring the second part of your post. As for the quoted: Not sure where you got that I don't want it to be correct. The point of this Tier project, according to the OP, is "to judge on paper how often a character will win a match against an opponent. Usually, tiers also represent the ease of use of characters as well, so in theory a "higher tiered" character will be easier to use for newcomers compared to others." With that in mind, I think we're doing pretty well. The tier lists posted so far reveal the trend we've all noticed--certain masters are overall better at more things than other masters, and so are easier to use than them (The Perdita scores posted are overall better than Pandora's score, for example). I think we're doing wonderfully with the few posts we have so far. We are doing it right; It's just as easy for me to say you're doing it horribly wrong, because you have not posted your tiers up for scrutiny. Your excuse? we won't get it. what BS. I don't know what type of things you like making--I have a few ideas (none kind) that I will keep to myself-- but here, on this COMMUNITY FORUM, we tend to favor the larger voice of the community as it is more tempered with experience and reason than those few who feel they are too good for the rest of us. If you look at the tacticas and strategies posted on this forum, you can see that the majority of them were devised and improved upon by the several talented players on this board.
  24. So this came up when we decided we need some actual terrain instead of books and boxes. You can post your boards up here, and take a look at others. We'll have a picture up of ours tonight, after a game or two. What to do? Play a game of malifaux, then take a photo of your table (with or without models). Those of you with modules are welcome, but what I had in mind are those of us who use lots of small terrain features to make a board. Also, what do you guys use for terrain?
