Every once in a while my fiancée will ask how my "undead hookers" are doing

And just to complete this event's posting... I ended up demoing 5 games, over 7 hours, split up into two 'slots' during the day. 3 games from 10-2, another 2 from 5-8. Not only did I pick up my third and fourth starters for myself, but I got two new players into the game. I'm looking foward to the next event already!

I've completed my first crew! Well, technically not since I haven't given them washes or anything... But Seamus and his Rotten Belles are done! I'll take some more pictures in better light tomorrow, and hopefully I can finished Lady Justice by then too.

Just an update... I've scheduled the demoing for 10am to 2pm. I'm sure I'll get more in later on, as well.

Great to see a group already in Toronto. I just joined the Henchmen, so I hope to see you guys out and about for some gaming. When's the next game? I'm a 15-minute walk from DG (I was there tonight actually, with TABS).

Does Fear Not Death work when Resisting, say Lure? It came up in the game yesterday and we couldn't figure out if the Resist Flip was a Simple Duel because you're using the Target Number of the enemy model's spell total, or if it's an Opposed Duel because you're using the enemy model's spell total. Do you see what I mean?

So I've played two games already with my two starter crews, Seamus and Lady J, once with each. And not surprisingly, I'm hooked. As soon as these crews are painted I'll be sending in my Henchmen application, as I know I'll be demoing this regularly. Now I have to choose to either pick up starters from the other factions, or to build upon Guild and Resurrectionists. I guess it all depends on whether I can get some of my buddies into the game or not. In both games I discovered some strengths of each crew. My next step is to start figuring out what kind of suggestions I can give to players when I demo the game. I'm also figuring out some of the issues I will have with the game. My first one is the Damage Total Modifier. What is the point of this? Is it to make the game longer, or to balance the cards or something? It makes it much harder to inflict Severe and even Moderate Damage when you're flipping that many cards. In the first game I forgot about the rule, so didn't use it, and the game went not quickly, but didn't take long. In the second game I remembered, and I found people weren't dying quick enough and the game would have gone a little long if we didn't have to call it. I think for quick demos I might remove this whole thing, but for regular games I'll keep it. Anyone else not enjoy it?

The way I see all this is... No matter how bad of an aim you may have, you could get lucky. Shooting poorly sometimes pays off...you might be aiming for the head, but a shot to the heart or the nuts...it's all good. Equally, if you've got the best aim and you're getting head shots, sometimes you only get grazes and flesh wounds. Just like "in real life," this happens in the game. You could get 3 positive twists, but they could ALL be Weak! Or you could get three negative twists, and they could ALL be Severe. It could happen. As for the Jokers specifically, I think if you've going to have two 'trump' cards, they should always be trump cards, not just when you're in a positive twist. Yes, I think the Black Joker should trump all, even the Red Joker. But I think the Red Joker should still "be the man" under all other circumstances.

I've played two games (my first and second, both opponents' firsts) with Seamus vs. Lady J. They've worked out pretty well, although I have a feeling Lady J and crew might be a tad stronger? Gotta keep playing with Seamus and his Ladies of the Eternal Evening, find their sweet spots. I'd like to see who from Neverborn and Arcanists match up nicely, since I'd like to get one starter from each faction.

Great crew, indeed. I love the sideways pose on that Death Marshal, and the flames on the other turned out great. I like the colour choice for everyone, as well.

Fantastic! I think I found my new favourite paintjob on this starter. I hope mine turns out 3/4 as good!

Thanks guys! I was playing around posing the 'flying' marhsal, and when I hit that pose I instantly loved it.

Pick up my first starter last week, Lady Justice and the Death Marhals. N.B. picked up my second a few days later I based Lady Justice and the Judge on two of the graveyard bases. Because of their coffins I decided to base the Death Marshals on plain bases with some plaster filler and a little bit of gravel. So far I've painted up one DM, just a few more details to add, and have started on the other two, now that I have a paint scheme I like. I haven't taken a good picture of him yet, but when they're all done (hopefully by tomorrow night) I'll be able to. I'll continue updating this thread as I move forward with the crew. Comments, questions, etc. very welcome.

I'm pretty impressed! I think the highlighting is great, especially on Sonnia and the witchlings.

ACTUALLY, I think the tallest model is one of my Death Marshals...
