  1. Paverted Lemure King. I mean really. All hail the New York Giants!
  2. Oh my god. That transparency work is very impressive. I don't think I have seen transparent fabric painted so well before. The resemblance to the model is striking of course but the paint job is really impressive. Thanks for the link.
  3. HAH! Yes exactly! I thougt this was a model out of the fairy tale about the goose girls or something. Phoenix? Nope. Total fail there.
  4. It was relatively cool again today so I got about 10 hours of work done. The problem with the elevator is that 10 hours of work looks like next to nothing! I'll be really glad when this part of the project is done and I can start slapping foam around again. I managed to get the limit box about 80% completed. First pics show the inside of the limit box showing the magnet and the reed switches. Here is the over all look. I'll be adding the piping to the other side as well. The last two images are just me placing the elevator making sure everything fits properly. You can see the motor unit in front. Comments, criticisms, suggestions are always welcome and encouraged. TBK P.S. After thinking about this project I realized that there is no reason why this has to be for Warmachine / Hordes. It could very easily be for Malifaux as well. Steampunk Check. Mining Check. The only sticking point is going to be the river but if there are swamps then there must be water right? Very psyched that this will be able to be multy-system!
  5. All of the gold? Or just the leg plates? Can you be a bit more specific please? I'll go ahead and edit the piece some although this is primarily table top quality. I am interested in improving my technique and would like to try to impliment these suggestions.
  6. Not to mention the BDSM chaining to demo tables. Talk about kinky! I would assume that that is for the benefit of the crowd more then to deepen their relationship any. It is important to keep up facades of course.
  7. PP Harrower Warjack. The greens are airbrushed. The steel for the claw is as well. Comments and Criticisms are welcome and encouraged. TBK I appologise for the multiple images. I havn't sprung for Photoshop yet.
  8. perhaps you recruit the minions in pre set allotments so that each has their won individual stats? That would certainly be a new wrinkle that has not been done before and would lend quite a bit to the tactical challenge presented by the game. Especially if the group of minions had interrelated abilities that fell off as members died or were put out of action. /ramble
  9. So as long as the posts are PRESS RELEASES and not adverts we are all good? <grin> Of course press releases could be considered advertisements too. Where to draw the line??? Hmmmmm...
  10. I would play I a campaign system like this although I find that even with the Warjack bonds that happen with Warmachine I tend to forget to keep track of them. Or my jacks die as soon as they get a bond. I'm a firm believer in throw away troops. Nothing like claiming victory over the dead bodies of your comrades. (I play Cryx so they were dead to begin with! <best of both worlds>)
  11. Zooming in on the image is a good idea apparently. The big base has a blue lizard right in the center of it and the little base has the two frogs that Jabberwocky mentioned. So they do have critters on them!
  12. It has a dead Conquistador critter! Does that count? <grin>
  13. For the foliage I used green polyfiber from Woodland Scenics. Go here: http://www.terrainthralls.com/articles/brokencoast2/firstpage.aspx That will give you the entire process for the tree creation from start to finish. The Brokencoast tutorials 1-4 detail the entire process. Unfortunately I screwed up section 4 and forgot to put completed pictures on the tail end of the tutorial. <oops> :banghead:
  14. Here are a fe WIP pics of the elevator. Over all: Where I found springs that push (Sorry for the lack of a technical term. It's late and I am tired) I have some 3/64" plastic coated aircraft cable from work that I am using as guide cables for the piece. I took some 1/64" brass wire and wrapped the ends of the cable before sealing it with glue. Then I threaded the cable through all the various components before threading it back through the bottom. I used a rheostat to hold the spring down while I wrapped the loose end. A picture showing how the cable rests in the I-beam and the brass tube on the elevator car that functions as a guide. A picture of how the cable is routed along the top of the elevator shaft. Hopefully things will remain relatively cool so that I can get some more work done on this. (crosses fingers) TBK
  15. I actually started work on the thing again today. It was rather cool so I am hoping to put in another few hours on the elevator. If anything is picture worthy I'll post the progress.
  16. My only issue with that type of thing is the WYSIWYG complication. I never got into Necromunda or Mordheim because the models could constantly be changing and could never be truly WYSIWYG, or if they were it wasn't for long. Unless the changes to the characters was a stat change only. I personally prefer the non changing systems as it always starts everyone on a level playing field. The contest then becomes one of tactics and luck.
  17. To expand on thetang22's question: Will there be skermishes with more then one Master to a side? Something along the lines of 2 masters 2 henchmen 6-8 rank and file organised as master-henchmen-rank and file master-henchmen-rank and file How much flexibility will there be in force organisation?
  18. It's like Poltergeist but fluffy and friendly and all "I just want to PLEASE you!" (Double entendre intended)
  19. It's not hard to find out where you live you know.... :firedevil Of course you would have to keep up somehow as I will soon reach 10 posts. What's next? 25? 50? 1700? We will all have to use your avatar then!
  20. Also known as: Ducking the Bullet Passing the Buck Hiding behind your title <grin>
  21. The lights are what are called grain lights. They are little .5wat incandescent bulbs. They are a bit easier to use as they don't require resistors the way LEDs do but they have a significantly shorter life. They are rated for 1000 hours only where as LEDs are usually rated to 10000 hours. They are significantly smaller then LED however and in this application are what where needed. As for the construction of the mine, it will be a tutorial on the Terrainthralls site next spring. We are having a contest between the members that will be up to popular vote. The general structure will be a submitted tutorial on which ever piece the member enters. We have untill May 18th 2009 to complete the piece. I guess it is for bragging rites but we have all offered prizes to the winner so first place is quite desirable too. What you don't see in the pic is the elevator shaft that will have a functioning elevator. (I have about 100 hours in the elevator alone at the moment. with another 50 at least to go) A large ravine that will be directly above the mine and a bridge spanning the ravine tops. The general idea is a 4' x 4' board to play Warmachine on so playability is a major consideration as well. Thanks for the kind words folks. I'm hoping that once the temperature in my garage drops below 110 (I live in Florida) I'll be able to get back to work. TBK
  22. I posted more info about me personally in the intro forum. I thought I would post a few thumbnails of some of my completed projects as well as a few WIP shots. Enjoy. Flames of War Modular Desert Table: Mine and Ravine Table WIP shot: Warmachine Cryxian Themed Piece:
  23. I'm really sick of the message telling me to make my first post so this is me making it go away! Yay! About me: I'm a theatrical construction rigger / estimator / master rigger mechanic / IT support. What that all means is this: I build playhouse theaters, theme park rides, estimate jobs and help keep my company’s computer system running. I constantly feel like I have multiple personality syndrome with work as there are always several different departments clamoring for my time. It's nice to be wanted I guess. I do concert rigging on the side when time presents itself. (Which is very uncommon as I am usually working 70+ hours a week and periodically work 100 to 110 hours in a week. Oh and I am a salaried employee. Yay slave labor!) Last year I got to work the Superbowl. I have also worked for Shakira, Barbara Streisand, and frequently work the Latino Billboard Awards. Hobby wise I am much more of a terrain builder. I actually like painting miniatures the least out of all the aspects of this hobby. Unfortunately I am half way decent at it. Nothing like the level of some of the folks here but above the 50% mark I would guess. Yay! No more "Please please please post" message!
