  1. Cool - I kind of meant my suggestion was a 'two birds with one stone' solution - are conversions tourney legal? I'll go and measure that AT mini in a minute, so you can see if she'll be in scale ... AT minis are generally pretty tall.... I might have a crack at my suggestion myself, you know, just for the ... craic.... Will post pics if I do....
  2. Awesome - thanks for sharing (will read it again when there isn't an alarm going off constantly behind me and I can do it justice). I'm envious of that 50+ hours thing: my pieces generally take twice as long and look half as good....
  3. Hehe ... Ritual's choices always remind me of my bad old days - boy I used to be DARK.... I can't listen to any of that music now - it just evokes those years too much - but the earlier Cure albums were second only to the Sisters of Mercy for me (with a hefty amount of Bauhaus thrown in).... I was some sexy Goth though - never looked better since or before....
  4. I loves me spaceships! I've been wondering if I dare submit one in an IP Round at some point (IP7?). One of the three forums I go on now is Starship Combat News and this pre-order thing was going on a couple of months ago. Ken Burnside's on there a lot and it was my understanding that all three fleets had hit their pre-order targets, in order that they will be cast up. You can still pre-order all three fleets though, obviously. I pre-ordered all three fleets to help out, but in truth I'm not too keen on at least half of the ships - embarrassingly for someone as unpatriotic as me, I really like the British fleet....:
  5. Well, as suggested by my sig, Sole's 'Da Baddest Poet'. The whole album 'Selling Live Water' is 100% uber-awesome: politics, spitting and a planet-sized load of spirit! Not to be confused with the horrendous Sole with an accent over the 'e'! I've always been with Hinton's not having definite and consistent favourites thing and I thought this album was just pretty good at first, but unlike most of my ex-top albums, this one actually gets better every time I hear it, to the point that it's just totally obviously head and shoulders above everything else. When I was flagging in my IP painting session at the end (after about 20 hours straight through and before I got my second wind) - I put this on ... BOOM!!! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jmgU1PFBB4]YouTube - Sole - Da Baddest Poet[/ame]
  6. I suppose another interpretation of 'guilty' might be if I decided to watch these films with my Mum and Aunties:- Funny Games Audition Hehehe....:vb_devil:
  7. And sculpted by Yannick Hennebo.:inlove: How far would sawing horizontally through the legs and adding plugs get you? I know you'd have to resculpt those parts of the coats and such too but it wouldn't be that much work* ... dunno, I just generally really don't like PP minis and these (except for the leader anyway) are amongst the very few I actually like - wouldn't want to give up on them.... *EDIT: Suppose you'd have to add a bit to the filigree on the shoulders too to give more of an impression of size and not just height - maybe saw it off, pad the shoulders with GS and stick it back on?...
  8. Some great films in there - nothing to be guilty about: they get the recommended sticker from when I used to be a smartass, film know it all indie videoshop ... erm - Clerk. Grosse Point Blank especially! I don't tend to feel guilty or embarrassed about anything I like but in the sense of some films I thought were great that people I liked berated me for:- The Big Hit Scooby Doo on Zombie Island The Fast and the Furious (me too) Deep Blue Sea Pearl Harbor (I liked the motif of all the humans being dwarfed by the huge machinery and the events they represented) Pretty much everything by Paul Verhoeven - especially Showgirls and the almost unbelievably good Starship Troopers Alien 3 - masterpiece and I don't give a f**k what anyone says! Star Wars EpII Star Trek the Motion Picture (with the extra bits) EDIT: Videoshop work can get you down though - had one guy ask for 'Ravenous' as 'rave-ness' and another had a go at me for recommending Memento: "It's bloody rubbish - it's like you have to watch it backwards!" Pearls before swine.... Another guy spent an hour with me trying to get me to recommend a film that would be the only thing that would save his marriage - me being me I said, "If your marriage is on that much of a razor edge that a video's your best chance of saving it, I'd just go 'f**k it!' and go to the pub.";)
  9. The dudes getting blown away are pretty cool.
  10. Morf: I'll try - bottom post on linked page:- http://wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?t=5282&page=4
  11. Pretty Elf (though a bit dumpy for an Elf?) but that female mage is stunning! Can't imagine a swan's webbed feet are too efficient for shoulder perching though.... I particularly love how 'classical' she looks (would make a great statue) - all willowy and those robes! Has to be bought. EDIT: Darksword are one of the many minis companies that I've got in my 'I'll check 'em out properly one day' folder. Just had a look - holy cats! Can I have some more money please?...
  12. Yeah, he looks great on the box art - looking forward to seeing the mini. Really looking forward to seeing the sword wielders too, especially the woman - if she's like the box art, I've been looking forward to such a mini for a long time: nice, simple and beautiful Chinese swordswoman. Fingers crossed (though not too much - I've got pretty high hopes already).
  13. Go on then, regardless of how IP goes, I'm up for it. I'll register nearer the time. Nice one for sorting this out, and for Nathan for the prizes and Demonherald for the judging.
  14. Quite like the Dwarf Rogue, but otherwise agree with Duende completely.
  15. Death Marshals for me too - I gushed about the jumping one (particularly) when he was released and I don't like them any less now....
  16. I'll have to see how IP goes, and life and all that rigmarole - looks good though!
  17. Xenon Wulf: Sorry about that Dude - stream of consciousness it was.... Distribution wasn't the problem (my LGS stocked them as soon as they were released) - the problem was that I really wanted to buy La Voyageuse (the one with the kukri) and couldn't coz she was Limited Edition. Her being my favorite mini from the line, if I can't get her, why should I buy anything less? As a semi-completist, why get into buying minis from a line when you know from the beginning that you won't be able to buy them all? LE minis really push my rant button and really disappoint me, but this was intended to be an explanation for why I don't really follow or buy this line, when I certainly would have otherwise ... just so you know, for whatever it's worth [= 0].
  18. Was following Helldorado from the beginning but that whole Voyageuse thing and being able to get certain minis only with the box sets really put me off. Sweet minis but I generally expect incorporating the corporate paradigm to come when a company is a corporation a few years down the line - seemed ill-advised to adopt it from the beginning.... Not sure what they were playing at, really, but they certainly managed to alienate me - before their stuff was even generally available in this country. I'm sure it all makes sense to a bean-counter somewhere.... But yeah, objectively, some sweet minis ... if you don't mind not being able to not buy the sweetest ones ... expected better from a French (non-'PLC') company. Now I have to overcome my ambivalence and principles to buy anything from these guys - sick of basic things that shouldn't be problems (I like, I'll buy) being turned into totally artificial and unnecessary ethical problems.... 'Yadda yadda - LE is GREAT!!!!' OK, explain to me why if I can't get the best model they've released (IMO, til now), I should settle for anything less? [Though I have, a bit, coz I'm a semi-pussy and beautiful-minis whore....] EDIT: What I mean is: the buying model should be 'Ooh, I like this I'll buy it' not 'I like this, I'd like to buy it but they made something sweeter I'd like to buy, but I can't, so should I boycott them?' Why do that? Why add that level of cognitive dissonance? The market for this industry ain't big enough to support such divisive nonsense.
  19. Funny: 'What a great looking couple!' was the first thing that popped into my head too - must be true. Very best of luck to the pair of you!
  20. Yeah, that's a great cover! Looking forward to seeing pics of some of those minis (the two people with swords on the left and the guy in the lower middle with hat and glowy eyes) - have the pics been released and I've just missed them?
  21. I used to know Infinity stuff through and through but I've never got on with their new site (and it's just, flat out, not been working for days). Can I ask who the female, running Doctor is in the bottom pics? Have they decided to make Avicenna female? EDIT: If you click on Properties, the pic's labled Avicena. So, cool and everything but anyone know what the story is with that? Why female, from a fluff point of view?
  22. "Grrr - I will fight you ... hang on, that's a really nice shield: where did you get it done?" [Potential belligerents go to tavern and get pissed, married, and live happily ever after....] Cool martial technique! Beautiful work, as always from yourself.
  23. v22TTC

    howdy

I agree about Dorva - lovely! Look forward to seeing more pics, and good luck with IP!
  24. Yeah but it'd be random, so cool!:vb_devil::laugh:
