  1. Hmm... Wouldn't be too fond of tophats in an ice-themed army, as there are alread plenty of tophats to go around in other factions. Penguins could be interesting, though (were-penguin?). Something like an Inuit with an ice imp on his shoulder could also fit in.
  2. Could also be de la Chartreuse Verte - that'd work too, you know... But both that and Absinthe are acquired tastes. Absinthe has that licorice-y taste to it (not to mention that it hits like a friggin' concrete wall (no not brick - concrete, and don't ask how I know *says he while hiding his bottle of the stuff*)), as for Chartreuse, it's rather hard on the throat as it goes down (much easier when you use it in a mixed drink, of course, but where's the fun of that?). So yeah, Black Velvet it is...
  3. Indeed, cool idea. As for Rasputina, Nathan did state during Gencon that an Ice Golem was in the works for her. That leaves us 3 more positions. I'd say some sort of arctic-themed werewolf/bear (thick fur, sharp claws) would work, along with some being brandishing ice-sculpted weapons (yeah, concept isn't all that original, but I trust Nathan and Eric to do something unexpected with it). I'd expect Rasputina's magic to be drain-based, along with movement slowing/stopping effects. The golem would be the "beat stick" - tough strong and slow. The were-beast would be fast yet fragile, but able to do massive amounts of damage to enemy stragglers. Still leaves us two slots. A ranged unit (the aforementioned ice-weapon wiedling troop?) and a camouflaged unit? Yes, this is all rather off the top of my head and quite sudden too - it's just that I've got an overly-large fondness for ice-themed minis. Must be because of where I'm from (as a local poet/folk-singer once wrote/sang: "My country isn't a country - it's winter!").
  4. The rips in the cloak should be dark red. As for the free hand pattern, what about ivy or some sort of rose? If you're going to do her in a completely different way than what she's expected to look like, why not play with expectations all the way? As for the "French Way", it's the technique used by a number of french painters (namely the members of Team Toulouse) - it's something like thinning your paint to a glaze transparency/consistency medium, then soaking up the fluid and thus working with very, very, very faint paint. It takes a bit of time to paint when using it, but the results speak for themselves...
  5. Can't be half as bad as Munster cheese, no matter what...
  6. Pandora and the ghosts? I sort of see some sort of cenobyte-styled nanny/babysitter for the kids...
  7. Yeah, so do I... I suppose it must be the name of Wyrd's world...
  8. You're all wrong. The game will be on pork rinds and fried wheels of brie, and will involve using coasters. Wyrd, the ultimate pub-game making company!
  9. You mean I missed another meetup on sunday?
  10. 1) Favorite: Food, if you had to pick 1 item to eat as your last meal, this is your prefect food Errr...nothing comes to mind... 2) Favorite: Type (nationality) of Cuisine Indian, without a doubt. 3) Favorite: Breakfast A bowl of cereal, a pair of toasts and a bagel, along with a bit of juice and some water. 4) Favorite: Lunch Depends where I am and what I've got available. 5) Favorite: Dinner Falafel pita. It's fast to make, filling and delicious. 6) Favorite: Dessert Rasgullas, ice cream. 7) Favorite: Drink (non-alcoholic) Ice tea. The home-made sort, not the sweet Nestea sort. 8) Favorite: Alcoholic Drink Black Velvet, Vodka on the Rocks, French Connection, Southern comfort + 7up. 9) Favorite: You're ordering a meal that can be prepared anywhere from mild to super spicy, what would you usually choose Burn-my-throat-out-for-a-week spicy. Go on, I dare you - you can't make anything spicy enough to make me tear up while eating. 10) Favorite: Pizza (list all the things you'd put on your ideal pizza) Easy. Hot peppers, black olives, onions, feta cheese, cheddar. 11) Favorite: Fruit or vegetable Yellow plums, brown cherry tomatoes. 12) Favorite: Your favorite restaurant and why (and where it is, so if we're ever in your part of the world we can go there!) Pushap. It's a small family-run indian restorant near my parents' - the food is simply incredible and the cost is so low it's almost unbelievable. 13) Favorite: Guilty pleasure food (something you probably wouldn't admit you like but you can't help it) Cheese. It's not that it's bad, it's just that I eat massive amounts of it because I like it so much. 14) Favorite: Type/cut of meat None. 15) Favorite: Sandwich (construct your ideal sandwich, list everything) Pimpernickel/rye bread, dijon mustard, tomatoes, iceberg salad, green and peppers, onions, aged cheddar, romano and domyati, ground pepper, labneh. 16) Least Favorite: Fruit or Vegitable, something you always avoid Eggplant and mushrooms. Too squishy. 17) Least Favorite: Food item that was absolutely the worst thing you have ever tried to eat Can't think of anything off the top of my head, but I'd say anything cooked which contains ricotta cheese - that's pretty awful. 18) Least Favorite: Drink (alcoholic or otherwise) Cherry flavoured stuff, I'd guess. 19) Least Favorite: Type/cut of meat Any/all. Can't eat meat, for some reason I can't digest it. 20) Least Favorite: Type (nationality) of Cuisine Not all that fond of Asian cuisine (too fish-based for my liking). 21) Memorable: What is your most memorable dining experience? (this doesn't have to be due to the food, could be due to the circumstances surrounding it, for example a date, or end of a fast, etc...) Nothing specific comes to mind, other than a couple of Gencon experiences...
  11. Err... They'll be switching their whole Confrontation line to plastic - with only the very occasional metal model... As for Brookhurst, they've been slashign prices on Rackham products ever since they've stopped being the main distributor and Rackham turned to ACD...
  12. You know, despite what everyone here is saying about pre-painted plastic, I've heard a lot of random con-goers at Gencon say that they didn't care for painting minis. That and Rackham was actually raking in the money with the AT-43 stuff they had on sale. The paint jobs are actually good for pre-paints, when compared to the competition, and while the sculpts are simpler, they aren't very much so (I've got the plastic pre-painted Abel they were handing out and have the last version of the metal one - they're pretty close IMO).
  13. Good question. I'll have to take a closer look at some of them...
  14. The base of the tower is a large one - like the one used for the Abby Prime...
  15. Welcome aboard. Always nice to see something small but great get noticed...
  16. Nipple rings? What about that gallon of lube and the full hamster cage? Nice to see you join us
  17. Hmm...I had been wondering if I should go see it - you guys convinced me!
  18. Looks like this one slipped by me. I wonder when it'll be available (I really like it!).
  19. No, I think these are just special gears that are larger and more advanced than the regular ones...
  20. Are they doing plastic minis instead of metal now, or are these "greens"?
  21. I'm curious about how this one will play...
  22. It's only bad after 4 days, if the ventilation stops working... But yeah, it's mostly the sheer crowds of people that I expect I'll have to face in the vendors' area which really make me feel uneasy about having to cross the entire place while on a short break from the Asmodee booth...
  23. Crud - you guys are at the complete opposite side from us (the Asmodee booth). I think I heard the boss mention we'd be near WotC. I hope that's wrong and we'll be nearer, I've been meaning to get a few minis....
  24. Man, talk about timing - I was in NJ about two weeks ago and got my hands on the full Visionaries series on DVD (bootleg), I bought it out of nostalgia...
