  1. It may have been Mal's choice to err on the side of caution and link to those pictures instead of just posting them since some people can access Wyrd from where they work. If someone walks by and sees a zombie or plague demon, they may think to themselves that it's related to a horror movie or something like that and think nothing of it. They see a woman's nude chest, you know they're going to think "That person is looking at porn at work!" and that somehow that person is a perv or something. Yes, it's a double-standard that violence is more acceptable than something as beautiful and gracious as the nude female form. But some people simply will not be convinced that it should be the other way around.
  2. Very cool work; love how the gloves look on him.
  3. Think I might pick one of these up. Definitely could come in handy since I'm getting more and more into terrain and the like.
  4. Some pretty cool stuff in there (love the BTiLC quote on the side ).
  5. You've seen Remo Williams?? Holy crap! Most people I mention that to have no idea what I'm talking about. Loved the movie, although the books were a bit better.
  6. I love Cast A Deadly Spell. Fred Ward (one of my favorite actors) is fantastic in that.
  7. Wow; seems there is quite a bit of interest in this. From my point-of-view, I would prefer to see it as "terrain" and not "Terrain". The idea would be to create a scenic environment; whether it will be used for gaming or dioramas wouldn't figure into scoring/judging/voting. I think it could work in an Iron format, but it would take some work to get the details and rules hammered out. As was mentioned, would things like Hirst Arts blocks (which I also enjoy using) be allowed? Would everything have to be scratch-built or would a certain amount of pre-made items be accepted? Would the judges be able to tell the difference? Having it as a "straight" competition, much like Femme Fatale or Rotten Harvest, would give people more time to work on their entries and things could be broken down into categories. However, we wouldn't want to get over-specialized. It could be broken down into size categories; after that, people can make it whatever setting they want. Either way, the same questions would be relevant to either format (what is allowed and what isn't). Like DH, I had the idea of each round being a different size. It could either be that the base size grew larger or smaller as the rounds progressed. All-in-all, we would want it to stay fun and be something for the community as a whole. I would like to see people that don't usually do terrain getting involved and really stretching their limits, much like IP does in regards to painting. Ok, better get back to work (I'm not allowed to access the site from there, so I popped home real quick).
  8. Ok, so the idea of an Iron Terrain Builder, done much in the manner of Iron Painter, has been brought up and there seems to be some interest. I'm not saying that it's something that will happen, but instead of clogging the IP threads, I thought we could move the discussion here. So, let's discuss this. Is there enough interest to actually put on an all-out Iron contest or should it fall more into a "regular" competition? Should minis be allowed on terrain entries or should the piece be judged solely on the terrain itself? Should there be a limit on the size? Let's hear what you all think and see where this might go.

    Greetings!

    Welcome to the forums.
  10. Thanks for posting this up. I thought those pipes might from HA. There's some good info here (for me, anyway) that might be helpful in future projects.
  11. I think it's great that so many people have that one song that always "speaks" to them, no matter what. My problem is that there could be one song that I absolutely love (such as "Road to Nowhere" by Talking Heads) one day and the next I can't stand to hear it. Don't know why things change so radically for me; just always have. Guess if I thought about it enough, I might be able to come up with something.
  12. Yeah; I can relate to that. @Uber: it's actually an essay written by Mary Schmich (not Kurt Vonnegut, as many seem to think). It's really cool. As for the topic at hand: I've never been able to pick just song/book/movie/whatever above any others. My tastes and interests are so varied and change from day-to-day (depending on my mood) that it's hard to pin anything down and say "Yep, that's the one."
  13. That was really weird and surreal, FF. Think I might have to check that movie out.
  14. Oh yeah! Definitely want to see how this comes out.
  15. Don't think I have any "guilty pleasure" movies as I'm not ashamed of my tastes in cinema. A lot of the movies mentioned so far I enjoy - and actually have quite a few of them on DVD.
  16. The Guild does not cause trouble; it ends it.
  17. Thanks! You...are...getting....sleepy....

  18. Welcome back, Rob. For you and all of the other forumites that have started popping in again: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVS3WNt7yRU]YouTube - Welcome Back Kotter[/ame]
  19. As I said in your other thread, it's nice to have you back. I was wondering if you were just popping in or if you planned on sticking around for a while. So, what's new?
  20. Hey, Mal! Nice to see you on the boards again! Some pretty good work there. I really like how The Major looks and Cat Helsing is outstanding. Congrats on the gold for it.
  21. I do like it. Very nice paint job and some very interesting colors.
