  1. They're mostly painted using glazed shading with just a few highlights it looks to me. It's the colour combos that make the paintjobs - using complimetaries as shades and highlights and mixing several different base colours on one surface. Very interesting.
  2. Sky High was ropey. Try Azumi, Arahan, House of Flying Daggers, Hero or Zatoichi. Battle Royale, Casshern, anything with 'Beat' Takeshi in, Versus, Wild Zero and anything by Takeshii Miike are also worth looking at. Studio Ghibli has made some cracking animation recently. Some wicked Korean stuff too: Old Boy, Save the Green Planet, Brotherhood, Joint Security Area, R-Point... And that's just the crossover stuff that is easy to get hold of. There's a lot of chuff, but when they make a good one, it's usually very cool. Play.com have got a big sale on, so I just blew loads on DVD's. Can't wait to see Time Slip/GI Samurai again And it was only a fiver
  3. I got him from Em4Miniatures: Em4miniatures He's one of their 'Suits' chaps. I have a feeling that they're old Mark Copplestone sculpts he did for Grenadier, but I could be wrong.
  4. Got this in the post today: It's a beautiful piece I have to say. Cast quality is excellent and he's a really quirky little chap. Spot on. Got some of their new 28mm minis too. They look to be cast out of better quality white metal now and have far better defined fine detailing. :thumb:
  5. Hello Tone! Nice to see you here
  6. Very nice stuff. Glad to see Rackham studio jobs don't hold up to extreme close-ups
  7. Bland? BLAND??!! Just because they're not dripping with chuffing filligree I reckon those bots look quality. Lots of scope for monstrous freehand and painted damage. I reckon the line is gonna kick some arse. Nice bases too. Glad to see they have kept the hardware minimal and functional looking, not like the tat GW knocks out, all covered in knobs and whistles. This is obviously only one faction as well. Can't wait to see what else crops up.
  8. I think he's my favourite too. This chap is the spit of John Major
  9. The Manga girly is spot on. Socks are ace
  10. :dancing2: :imsorry:
  11. After seeing some of the pics Nathan posts around here, I suspect that he's waiting for non-FEMALE female minis!!!! :umbrella: :thumb:
  12. Leather is Coat D'Arms Rat Brown, Vallejo Burnt Umber and some Ivory I think. It's a HF grenade launcher
  13. Here's my take on Ramos. Never liked magicians (bloody Paul Daniels....), so off came the fire, and on went a gun! CMON link...
  14. How odd! I used to put big eyes on all my diorama bases. I might get one for a laugh
  15. Pan Oceania armoured fellows are spot on. Unfortunately you have to buy a box full of minis I don't want to get the two or three good ones Hope they start selling them separately.
  16. It might be worth emailing them and pointing out that p&p cost - they've only just set it up and it could very well be an oversight.
  17. Haven't forgotten about that either - got it bookmarked! Some cool stuff there. Dunno when I'll get them finished though. I'm still trying to finish Edgar's female cyborg he did for Sacred Blade. It's only been sat around for about nine months now.... :loco: And here's one I just finished - a pal for Borak!
  18. Funny you should say that, there are two half painted ones on my WIP shelf...
  19. I've got NL2 prepped and ready to paint and a NL1 on its way. This Sacred Blade bodyguard? :thumb:
