Brad Maynes 59 Posted June 2, 2023 Report Share The effect on the sword is striking, but I found it a little hard to tell whether it was meant to be rust, glare effects or magic. Don't forget to put metal on his buttons! Quote Link to comment
Quickitt 0 Posted June 2, 2023 Report Share Hi Brad, It is supposed to be the metal skin of the blade burning away in the same manner as when you hold a lighter underneath a sheat of paper. I painted the blade in the burning colors first and then went with removable paste. However the effect is far above my paygrade but it is good to challenge yourself I suppose. Quote Link to comment
Shock & Awe 679 Posted June 6, 2023 Report Share With the frame of reference I think you did a pretty good job of pulling it off! I wouldn’t have thought of even trying that effect, so good on you for thinking outside the box! Quote Link to comment
Cognitive_Thoughtworks 2 Posted June 7, 2023 Report Share Wonderful work on the sword. Try to remember to reach part of the model. I feel like if you gave the hair a bit more attention the model would sing. Either a shade or highlight Quote Link to comment
Merideth 20 Posted June 29, 2023 Report Share Cool effect, although I did think rust at first myself. Maybe a little brighter pop of color in the middle might have made it more obvious? Just a thought. I really like the base, though, lots of little details there that make it feel more like a story. M. Quote Link to comment
