Too dark, need more highlights

This looks really menacing, but I agree, it would need more contrasting highlights to make it pop. This way, it looks more insecty than treelike.

The skull is nicely painted though, really bonelike!

Really nice work, especially on her face. The skull is also really well painted. I thing the issue, as other said, is just that it's a bit "brown". It would be nice if something in the middle stood out a bit more.
