Leveticus - how many abominations?

So I've just picked up the Levi box set - so I need to pick up some more abominations?  How normal is it to end up needing more than 4 in a game?

Depends how you run him. I have had fun with a list that is Leve, Alyce, Desolation Engine, and Ashes and Dust. Every mid to high crow can be another Abomination. I got up to six last game.

Never summoned more than two, never hired more than two, so the box is probably enough.

Then again, I don't run Deso Engine or gimmicky Alyce summoning.

I don't even have a desolation engine.

 

So basically, unless I'm designing my crew/playstyle with the specific purpose of abomination spamming, I should be right without an additional box?

Absolutely.

Either you don't hire any and summon some with Levi/Alyce/A&D on lucky high crows, or you hire two and use them as a card engine, then summon some.

Summoning Aboms is usually a resource-intensive endeavour, so you won't be spamming them like Nicodem spams Punk Zombies anyway.

4 can be enough.
But it can come up that you end up with 6-7 on the board.

A Desolation engine alone might generate 4+ Abominations a game. (2 by dying)
I bought one more box of abominations just to be sure.

I had some old metal ones to supplement the box, I find use for upto 6 in many games
