graeme27uk
How does Jacob fit fluff-wise with Neverborn AND Ten Thunders? I assume he cannot take from both crews at the same time. What the pro's / con's of going either way? How does Jacob play in general?
Argentbadger
Fluff-wise he is part of the Ten Thunders crime syndicate as they force him to run the Honeypot Casino for them to pay off gambling debts and is part of the Neverborn due to the presence of the Hungering Darkness in his basement. He can pick from either Neverborn or Ten Thunders depending on which you pick at the very start of the encounter; being dual faction does not allow him to pick from both pools together. Note that some minions are dual faction anyway and some others can be picked in either faction due to his Infiltration rule. Locally, the proponents of Neverborn have focused on the power of Hungering Darkness with Nexus of Power attached (though this is much reduced due to the recent cuddle) while those favouring Ten Thunders (i.e. me) point to his synergy with the many Ten Thunders models requiring card discards to use some of their rules, notably Rail Workers. I don't believe that there is a clear consensus about one faction being a better option for Lynch than the other; certainly I play him in Ten Thunders for the simple reason that I own those miniatures. Lynch is in a good place in that there appear to be a lot of different ways to go with him depending on your preference. The two Limited upgrades will define your use of Hungering Darkness as one makes it more nasty and the other allows it to return to play after being killed. There is a well publicised killer activation using Woke Up With A Hand to nuke enemy models for a lot of hard to avoid damage per AP but this will severely constrain the way the rest of your game plays as you need to always activate last and cheat fate very conservatively. For my part, I like to play Lynch in a second wave with any Thunder Archers, Beckoners and Kang if against constructs or undead (I play Kang further forward if I don't need his auras). A wall of Illuminated or Rail Workers plus Hungering Darkness is a lot to chew through for most crew and will allow you to move Lynch around where he's needed most. If I may blow my own trumpet, I posted a couple of tournament reports here and here mostly using Lynch in Ten Thunders.
tadaka
Jacob owns the honey pot casino that got in bad shape. The 10t backed him with money and now they call on him to do things to repay the debt. When he could not pay off the 10t and they got close to collecting Huggy who is a Neverborn gave him a way to start making enough money that the 10t did not want to take it out of his skin instead of his pocket book. He is basicly just stuck between a rock and a hard place and owes 2 sets of people more then he can repay. For the most part his core crew can be used on both sides of the situation. The big difference is what options he has out side of his main crew for extra models. Look at models on both sides and decide what looks more intresting for you. Few models I would recomend on both sides of things. 10T Torakag-Free cards to ditch to make there 3 range attacks with push. I like to load up on these guys with him. Neverborn Terror Tots- Once you get the Ace of mask these guys are fast as hell. Currently he is my fav master. He is Loads of fun to play on both sides. If your trying to pick a faction I say get his set and core models. Proxy a few things on both sides and then pick.
graeme27uk
So then he can have 10T as they are lent to him as it were... and the Neverborn work for him due to Huggy being Neverborn. Hmm... I am tempted. Being able to discard aces and then keep them is powerful!
GKP
With M2E, what is the state of Lynch? I'm all confused by the various Betas and whatnot. Where exactly can I find his most up to date rules?
