Kalphire Posted December 18, 2013 Report Share Posted December 18, 2013 I recently got my Rail Golem, all put together and primed, now I am unsure on how to paint him so he looks like he's made of metal. You could tint a metallic paint with the color you want....although that will have varying effects based on the color of the metallic paint. You could paint it with metallics then wash it with your color choice.....after the wash, hit the highlights with straight metallic again...something like a GW Mithril Silver....a glint will lack most color, so that silver is good for it. I did that many, many moons ago with a High Elf armor....painted the armor in silvers, then hit it with a sky blue ink....wasn't too bad. You could do a non-metallic metal....zenithal highlights might still make it look like metal....although that might be pretty hard depending on your skill-set.....I've been painting for years and that stupid NMM still eludes me......still using my GW metallics (which are great....or at least were....not sure how they are with their new line of paints).
